A Warm Welcome!

Sitting in the white leather chair in her office, Zoë stared out at the rain trickling down the iron diamonds that divided each pane. This was by far her favorite weather and secretly she hoped that as the sun faded into the night sky the cold air would turn the rain to snow but those were high hopes.
3 days. She had only returned to Hogwarts 3 days ago and every time she realized how much she still had to decorate, organize or clean panic would set in causing her to abandon all productivity for the rest of the day. Taking a deep breath in, Zoë pulled a copper coffee mug to her ruby lips exhaling softly before taking a sip of her caramel latte.
From her window she could see two students playing in the rain as they shook their heads like puppies and cupped their hands, catching just enough water in their palms to launch on the other. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she hoped all of her students liked her. At Beauxbaton’s she was far more whimsical and random than the other professors but seeing the glowing smiles always made her try harder for each lesson to make sure each one was just as memorable as the last.
Since her arrival she had been running around like a mad woman trying to get everything in order and reacquaint herself with the school so she hadn’t had the opportunity yet to introduce herself to the other professors and staff but she knew there was a time for everything once she had become grounded in this new adventure. Still the extrovert in her wanted to feel a part of something and make friends so Zoë knew she couldn’t wait much longer.
Slowly rising from her chair, Zoë placed her cup on the coaster on her desk before turning to face the half stocked bookshelves that completely consumed most of the room. “Ughh” she remarked, scrunching her nose as she rolled a hair tie off her wrist quickly throwing her hair into a high ponytail.
“You can do this...You can do this…”
Looking around for her wand, Zoë rolled her eyes hating that no matter how hard she tried she always seemed to misplace it as she walked around the room looking high on the shelves and on the floor, eventually seeing the iridescent pommel sticking out from behind the picture frame on the desk.
“Ah there you are you little devil…” Zoë chided as she rolled it delicately between her fingers before placing it in the base of her ponytail diagonally. Opening the first box in the corner, Zoë carely pulled out a stack of books, adding a few more to the stack as she situated the weight in her arms hobbling over to the shelves as she skillfully rebalanced the weight with each book that was removed and placed in its new home.
“12 more down only like 100 to go.”
Taking a moment to stare once more at the frigid rain that had only seemed to pick up pace presumably to help keep Zoë calm; she smiled knowing she was home and things were going to get better.
Exhaling heavily, Zoë reached down into the box pulling out another large lopsided stack before awkwardly walking back to the shelves.
