✒ HISTORY
The Corcilius' are a pure-blood family of reported German descent and Imora grew up knowing family across the UK and the mainland. An only child, she was well-loved and a bit coddled, (perhaps out of concern for a somewhat sickly constitution, the result of a chronic anaemia from a genetic disorder) but managed a fierce independence despite that.
Her parents fostered her interests, and from a young age, Imora looked to the stars. In almost a scientific way, give her a telescope--give her a starmap--and you'll lose her for hours. She was homeschooled prior to attending Hogwarts, allowed to follow her own interests. Picking up a basic muggle education in maths and simple sciences, she devoured every wizarding book on astronomy and astrology--within her reading level--and every oversized muggle picture book of the Stars that her parents would buy her.
.........................࿏.........................Her parents had originally planned to send her abroad, to study with her great uncle Hadley Corcilius--a noted wizarding astronomer in his own right. But when her health took a turn for the worse, and Imora was inflicted with lycanthropy, those plans were put to a halt. Overprotective, and worried she wouldn't receive the assistance she needed so far away, they sent her instead to Hogwarts, a school with a solid reputation for assisting students with her... ailment.
The Corcilius family was one long involved in gathering wand cores for wand makers to use in their wares, a business that often put them into contact with wild animals.
From a young age (a toddler of 2 years), Imora had an orrery in her room; this she would often make spin on its own to amuse herself when she was supposed to be sleeping. One instance even causing the little planets to float away from their set up, much to her parents' chagrin, as they had to collect them from several corners of the ceiling.
She wasn't the intended target, but an innocent bystander caught in a feud... Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Imora's cousin, Eben Corcilius, joined the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures as part of the Werewolf Capture Unit and Werewolf Registry, a section of the bureau intended foremost to assist those afflicted with the disease. Although it purported always to have the best interest of werewolves in mind, Eben fell into conflict when he arrested a woman on charges of harbouring an unregistered werewolf who was refusing treatment.
Enraged, the werewolf in question sought Eben out on the full moon in an attempt to inflict revenge. But with no control over his transformed state, when he charged out of the woods onto the family properly, he unwittingly dragged a young Imora into the woods. It was only the combined efforts of brothers Eben and Walter that she survived.
