Day 2, Timing Unspecified

At the beginning of the evening, throngs of Slytherin students burst out of the doorway leading to the dungeons and their common room. A sea of toxic, poisonous green that Valentine was certain would swallow him if he misstepped his boundaries. He stood along the opposite wall, his gaze fluttering from the book in his hands every few seconds to watch as the hordes gradually thinned. Eventually, only a few stragglers remained, along with the occasional Slytherin who was returning from the Great Hall after a hearty dinner.

Each individual was met by a suspicious flicker of his eyes, but only after they had passed; only when their backs were facing him. No, no no. . . None of these was the one he wanted. Perhaps if he waited a little longer, the little mouse of a student would finally emerge from its den. He just had to be patient.

Unbeknownst to him, his subtlety was drawing more attention to him than he would've liked. While he was difficult to spot, once spotted, it was very obvious that he was deliberately positioning himself as such. That aside, what on earth was a Gryffindor first-year doing outside the Slytherin dormitories? It would be far-fetched to accuse him of being up to no good, but there was no surefire way of finding out without asking, now was there?

After dinner ended, like usual the green eyes waited until the horde of students that got out from the Great Hall thinning. While waiting, they cracked open their Astronomy textbook. The knowledge that there are a life far far away, always mesmerised the green eyes.

Earth, Planets, Stars and the whole other galaxies out there make the purple haired thinking they are small in comparison of the whole world. Cash peeked from their book to see their surrounding. Once only some of the students still lingered in the Great Hall, the second year decided to packed up and called it a night.

They got out from where they situated, holding their Astronomy book by their side. They walked down toward where their house is located. Once they descended the flight of stairs, first they thought they just hallucinate it. There's no way a student willingly to stand around for hours in front of their house door.

The boy also stood a bit odd to say the least. He stood like he isn't wanted to be found yet at the same time it say otherwise. Cash could pretend he is not there and did not exist but when someone stood in front of their house door, usually either plan something that up to no good or waiting for someone.

Either way, Cash decided to approached the bespectacled boy. "You lost or something, cub?"The questioned the boy. The nickname itself was given not because he belong to Gryffindor (Cash never met him before as this castle was huge), it is just because they wanted to annoyed the other boy.

Cash then squinted their eyes then they smirk. "What are you up to, lad? Don't you think you a bit far from your own house, no?"The Beater asked the boy. Their Cuban accent seeped through.

He turned and met Cassandra’s smug appearance with a neutral expression.

What did she call him? Cub?

He couldn’t tell if she was being hospitable or haughty. Seriously, people these days were so weird.

A thorough once-over revealed a few things that Valentine had initially known about this girl. She was older than him, that much he could gauge; which was only further confirmed by her usage of the nickname ‘cub’ to describe him, as if he was but a puny lion child in comparison. He also recognized her from the Slytherin Quidditch team, though he couldn’t put a name to her face. Was she a pureblood? Her accent was strange, but it wasn’t enough for him to found a hypothesis upon.

But what did she want with him? All actions were the result of motivation, whether selfless or selfish. His were very telling. He wanted to be left in peace, preferably at little cost. If he was sufficiently distracted, the little Mouse Girl might just slip past his sights into the Small Hall, where she’d be lost to him yet again.

Nope. I’m here because I need to be,” he replied, the corners of his lips twisting as he uttered a direct challenge against her taunting. “Don’t Slytherins venture to places they shouldn’t to get what they want? Surely you understand this.
