What she means is posts in general. Replies is another word. It can be replies in RPG or in 'Let's Chat!'

Duels are a sport like Quidditch. You can sign up for your houseteam in the common room forum after meeting the requirements. For Duelling that is a certain number of spells you need to have learned.

Referring to your first post- you are not on a team yet, so you don't have to do anything. We have two spectator threads (Here and Here), which you can join, if you want your character to watch the duels.

I'm not sure what you mean by things with the duels but to participate in duels you need to be on the duelling team
