No Sweetheart, its a Biscuit
February 14, 2021 - Afternoon | Interacting with @Arissa WrightIt was Valentine's day and the castle was decorated with pink and red hearts everywhere Cade turned. Cade was not partial to any part of the holiday. He never thought it was anything exciting, and seeing as he had no feelings for anyone he didn't think to celebrate it. At home, Peggy always brought home heart-shaped pies and chocolate sweets from her bakery. And that was the extent of the Darkbound celebrations.
Upon hearing about the biscuit frosting activities for Hogwarts, Cade found himself actually quite pleased. He used to frost biscuits with his mum at the bakery and found it to be similar to drawing. Anyone who knows Cade could tell you sketching is his favorite pass time. Not wanting to go alone, Cade owled his good friend, Arissa to meet up with him. The Ravenclaw boy found the Slytherin girl waiting for him by the moving staircase and together they walked towards the great hall. Cade felt glad to see Arissa again. Though it was true they were such a curious pair, her presence completely aristocratic, and his so casual. She was an astute and sharp-witted witch. Cade was glad she was on his side for most things.
"Now I know what this looks like, Arissa. But don't get any ideas," Cade laughed a little nervously as he cast a weary look in her direction. They came through the large double doors and into the large chamber. The house tables were lined up laden with blank biscuits and all sorts of decorative items. Piping bags, food coloring, even rainbow-colored sprinkles. Cade found a stupid grin across his face and struggled to hide it before Arissa could witness his obvious excitement.
The two of them came to what was normally the Slytherin table. Cade felt strange sitting on this side of the hall but was reassured when seeing some other house members sitting out of order. Cade glanced down at the dozen blank biscuits on his tray. There were Hogwarts elves everywhere resupplying frosting and candies, bringing along more freshly baked biscuits, seemingly out of nowhere.
Cade picked up one of the biscuits and sniffed it. His were almond flavored with a little vanilla. Perfect He mused. Cade looked across over to Arissa who looked like she was deciding which color frosting she wanted. "Any clue how you'll decorate?" Cade asked inspecting a tin of sugar plums. After thinking it over, Cade started to cover white frosting on his first heart-shaped biscuit.Permission to godmod Arissa

539 wordsTruthfully, Arissa didn't care much about Valentine Day. Her family never celebrate it, nor did they showed any interest towards the celebration itself, so technically, this was the first time she got to see it firsthand. It was more of curiosity rather than the desire to join in the festivities, of course. A mere observer, was what she intend to act as.
Nothing more, nothing less.
However, when she received an owl from Cade, containing a request to accompany him for Valentine's Day special activity, she was admittedly a bit amused. After pondering about it for a while, she ended up accepting it. Decorating cookies sounds fun, after all. And maybe, she could have some fun - as teasing Cade was one of her source of entertainment, especially after she knew of his little episode with some Gryffindors.
As the two made their way towards the Great Hall, Arissa decided on start on her mission. Casting a brief glance at the Ravenclaw, she spoke up. "So Cade... Valentine cookies?"
Cade however, seemed to realize her intention as he dismissed her probing with a nervous laugh, most likely because of the fact that he already knew of her little hobby. and fear the consequences of said hobby. Well, it may proved to be a wise decision, as Arissa did love inserting some offhanded comments a few times in their missives, and when they meet each other at times.
When they finally arrived, it didn't take long for her to find the assortment of the things they may used for their decoration. Arissa was not used to these sort of activities, so she's admittedly a bit intimidated. Her only saving grace was the fact that Cade himself seem to have a fair share of experience, as he did told her about that during one of their earlier missives - quite proudly as well.
They made their way to the Slytherin table, a location which she never expected the Ravenclaw to choose, and search for the toppings of their choice. When she heard the Ravenclaw's question, she barely moved her eyes from the table and said, "I'm thinking of making it simple. After all, I am a beginner at this. Some chocolate frosting and chocolate chips will be enough." With that, she picked five sugar cookies and sat down, starting with her frosting. She could feel her hands trembling as she tried to make a heart shape on the first cookie.
Arissa was not one to be interested in colorful cookies, as she preferred a simple chocolate cookies, so she'll choose all chocolate flavored ingredients to frost her cookies. It's not like she had any recipients in her mind anyway. And even if she did, it's her right to choose her favorite frosting.
Take it or leave it, she would say.
And speaking of recipients, it didn't take long before she turned her head towards her partner of the day, a smile, or maybe a smirk appeared on her usually stoic face. "So Cade, would my presence beside you for this activity harm me in any way, shape or form? I don't know, maybe from Gryffindors? What color did you choose for yours, anyway?"
"Elegant and unruffled, impassioned yet unmoved...That's what I am, and that's what I must be."
