Ileen had her arms wrapped around the small silver tabby cat and turned from left to right, trying to take in the situation. The young Slytherin girl had never been in a shop for pets before, especially not in a magical menagerie, and the impressions where overwhelming. All the sounds, shoeing, meowing, quacking, rustling wings… amber, yellow eyes and green eyes were fixed on her as she moved prudently through the store. Ileen loved all kind of animals and though there was much dynamic in here the sounds and the scent had a shooting effect on her.
With a deep inhale she tried to get as much out of the situation as possible - it reminded her of her home in New Zealand. There, they had had two cats and two horses. Merlin, she missed them.

Liv, the baby kitten she was carrying around, seemed to share the feeling of being overwhelmed, only in a negative way. She had crawled into Ileen's robe and only pushed her head through the top of the neckline. Her ears were flattened and with a hiss she clawed at Ileen's shoulders.
This was painful and brought the young girl back to the here and now. She winced slightly and then tickled Liv reassuringly behind the ears. "Don't worry, no one's going to eat you. But I need to buy a few things for you before we can leave."

With a shy nod she greeted the shop owners and turned to the corner where several supplies for cats were piled up.
She definitely needed a cat basket and litter box for the dorm. Even though Liv would probably sleep mostly in her bed, she still wanted to offer her an alternative. A travel basket wouldn't be too bad either. Liv had a lot of spirit, and if Ileen wanted to prevent her from picking fights with every person or animal, she had to have something to banish her - just in case.
Maybe she should by a stuffed mouse to play with and a small scratching post and some treats. Merlin, it was good that Dee's parents had allowed her to come by so she could get everything she needed.
Ileen thoughtfully bit her lowerlip and looked through the stuff. Now that Liv was blocked from the view of the other animals she calmed down a little and she commented the whole thing only with a quiet indignant meow.
The young Slytherin stroked her head soothingly, ignoring the claws that were still dug into her skin.
After brief consideration, she decided on a plain design. A travel basket, a basket with a cozy blanket, a few treats, a stuffed mouse, cat litter box and a small scratching post.
She smiled down at the tiny head peeking out from under her chin. "Look, this way you'll be cozy and warm. And you certainly won't be bored. During the vacations, I'm sure you'll be able to play a lot with Dee's cat."
She had to giggle when she thought of the old blue tomcat, who was probably annoyed at most by her little bundle of energy. “Okay Liv, let’s pay and leave before you destroy my skin completely.”
Hopefully someone would help her to carry all this...
