Ravenclaw Expectations
April was wandering around aimlessly, trying to remember where she was going. She knew she didn’t have any classes left for the day, and she didn’t have anywhere else she needed to be...right?
As she contemplated what she might have forgotten, she walked past the library. She saw the entrance hanging open, and decided she might as well spend her time wisely. She slowly walked inside, looking around. As much as she hated to admit it, she hadn’t set foot there yet. It just...intimidated her. She knew there was no reason it should, but it just did.
Possibly, she was scared she would ruin a book. But if she did, she thought she had enough wizard money to replace it. But no, it wasn’t that. Maybe she was just stressed, not wanting to read any more books then what she had assigned for homework. But that couldn’t be it, either. She knew inside why it intimated it her so much, she just didn’t like to think about it. The truth was, it was because she was a Ravenclaw. She never thought she could be sorted into Ravenclaw. Hufflepuff? Sure. Gryffindor? Maybe. Slytherin? Well, she had her moments. But Ravenclaw?
She felt like she had to live up to Ravenclaw expectations. Others from her house tended to go to the library all the time. But she was just scared. That she would mess up. She didn’t know how she could, but that didn’t stop her irrational fear.
Despite her fear, she decided it was time to go inside. If she was a Ravenclaw, she’d better at least visit the library. Walking inside, she was amazed at how many books there were. It was about ten times the size of her school’s library back in London. She had grown up having wizard books on her shelves, but this was different.
Suddenly, she remembered where she was going. She had a study project due the next day, and she needed to check out a few books to research. She went to the history section, and searched for anything that might be useful. Walking down the aisle, she bumped into someone. Their book fell open, papers fell to the floor. She quickly tried to pick them up, and looked up at the person it belonged to. “I am so sorry!”

Ravenclaw Expectations
Mei had homework to do. And lots of it too. She had been putting it off to read a book. She had finally decided to start on it. Mei walked up and down the shelves looking for books. So far she had only found one. Mei had stuck her homework papers inside the cover of the book and continued looking. Mei was getting bored now and took a break to read a few books. After finishing a particularly good one she decided to continue her search. Walking down the aisle of shelves she could hear the library door open a little bit but ignored the slight noise. Mei yawned it felt like she had been searching forever. She chose to just do her assignments with the one book she had. After finishing a couple of questions she noticed she needed a different book no longer to use the one book she had. Mei stood up from the floor and walked back to the aisle she got the book from and placed it back on the shelf. Mei continued her search for another book for her homework. Up and down one aisle. Then two. And once again down a third aisle. Mei walked down the fourth and looked along the shelves and grabbed a book. She turned only to have someone bump into her. Mei's book and papers dropped to the floor. The girl dropped to her knees and started to pick up Mei's things quietly shouting "I am so sorry!". Mei crouched down and gathered her things from the girl. Mei held her things in one arm and held out her other to the girl offering to help her from the floor. "It's fine. I'm Mei. It seems we happen to be in the same House. I haven't seen you here before. What's your name?" Mei smiled kindly at April.
