A Very Important Letter
Siobhán was speed walking as fast as she could (mainly because she didn't want to run and get yelled at) to the courtyard. She probably looked like a right fool to many of the passing students and faculty who had also just left lunch, but she didn't care in the slightest. The letter that she has bee stressing about has finally come from her father during lunch, and even one from her mother. Siobhán was not religious, but she's lost count on how many times she's prayed that this letter from her father will be filled with good news. News that her best friend, also crush, can finally get out of her parents grips and to somewhere safe.
Katie and herself had agreed to meet up after lunch in the courtyard. Siobhán was so excited and scared at the same time. She hoped for good news, but she also couldn't help the small amount of dread that there was nothing her father could do to help. It was taking a very scary emotional toll on Siobhán's nerves.
When she finally got to the courtyard she picked a shaded bench to sit on and decided she'd read the letter from her mother while she waited for Katie to arrive.
Dear Daughter,
Your father has informed me that you've finally made a friend at school and I'm happy for you. He also informed me of her predicament and for me to tell you while he is trying to sort everything out with his connections in the British Ministry, he and myself have signed a document that states for the time being until the situation can be resolved, Katie can stay with us on all holiday breaks, including summers, if that is what she wants. I sent a separate owl with books that your friend might need and delivered them to her dorm, so she should find them there. I can't wait to see you and meet this Katie Palsorette this summer. Good luck with your End of Year Exams.

Siobhán finished reading the letter and let out a most unlikely squeal of happiness and she was embarrassed about a second after, quickly looking around to see if anyone had seen or heard her.
