Jacob sits at the bench waiting for Evelynn to arrive, he asked to meet him at the Quidditch Pitch. But he stays patient, perhaps something his mother was right about knowledge. But he puts these feelings aside as he waits for Evelynn to arrive, ever since he had been on the train with her that time and stood up to Evelynn. He had to admit to himself that he was in love. There no ifs, no buts. He hopes that she feels the same way, but he must be prepared for rejection. He sat there for a long while and was starting to become impatient, but he was tempered with the knowledge that she will come eventually but he must be patient in order for him to be seen and besides he was going to be taught how to play Quidditch. Thankfully it had only been 3 days since he had seen Evelynn last, back during his first year he discovered that he wasn't very good at Alohamora, the unlocking charm. But thankfully he a feeling that this was going to go well. He may do a bit of flirtation every now and again, due to him liking her so much.

The first Wednesday back from the break was not a particularly interesting one. Evelynn had fallen back into the routine of school with practiced ease and the day's classes had come and gone with characteristic focus. Which, really, was somewhat ironic as it shouldn't have been characteristic in this case at all. The events on the train only a few days prior had left Evelynn rather unsettled. Granted, most of the students involved in the incident had ultimately been fine in the end. But to have a group of adults—slinging guns around, no less—board the train with almost no issues and manhandle the students… It left Evelynn keenly aware of just how vulnerable they were. Something that left her thoughts spiralling into increasingly deep levels of paranoia and concern unless she kept herself occupied.

Which was exactly what she had done. Her attention had been thrown into her studies and extra-curriculars. In an effort to leave herself no opportunity to dwell, she filled every vacant moment with assignments, quidditch practice, strategizing and acquainting herself with her prefect duties. She'd also taken it upon herself to increase her social sphere. Her thoughts were most at risk when alone, and so she limited that as much as possible. Overall, this was all quite easy to do. The work had increased, and her responsibilities were enough to keep her more than occupied, and with the number of new additions to the Quidditch team, there was plenty of opportunities to invite members to join her for practice.

On this day, she had made arrangements with Harman to join her after classes were out of the day. It had taken her a little bit longer than usual to get ready—she had taken a quick detour to the Headliner Office—but was down to the pitch in uniform and Silver Arrow in hand by the agreed upon time. Although typically quite punctual and among the first to arrive for any meeting, Evelynn was pleased to see that Harman was awaiting her at the pitch. Good, she thought. Only too often would they have members apply to the team, show an aptitude for the game and then decide not to take it seriously. Harman was one that she had only seen fly during the try-outs, but as he would be replacing her should she be knocked from her broom in a game, she had a vested interest in ensuring he was up for the task.

"Good afternoon, Harman," she greeted, offering a polite smile. "I hope you're ready to practice, then. I thought perhaps we might start with a few laps around the pitch, then we could spend some time working on your skills as a seeker," she continued, lowering the box of quidditch supplies she had borrowed from the captain's lockers and getting right down to business. "Is there something you'd like to work on specifically?" Came her query, glancing over to him as she straightened. "Of course, as a seeker, you'll be frequently targeted by bludgers. And other players trying to blatch you, of course; we could work on your awareness and dodging. I could also set up a bit of an obstacle course to help you practice your maneuverability. Or we could get some work in on finding and catching the snitch."
