A Fire In The Snowstorm

@Karlina Ackerman @Eden Gardener
Arissa was not exactly a pessimist, nor did she ever prided herself as an optimist, as she believe in calculation of probabilities. That was why, when she first heard about this errand, her reaction could be described as total disbelief, as that possibility of lighting a fire in a snowstorm was quite low. When she arrived at the venue of the event, the probability of success went lower in her mind.
"So," Arissa started slowly, her grey eyes were glancing at the courtyard, or what was supposed to be a courtyard. "We're supposed to light a fire amidst this... wonderful blizzard that seemed to have enough power to swallow a person?" To prove her point, she gestured to the two students standing a few feet away from them, their legs were buried inside the white snow.
Even if the harsh winds were not directed in their direction, Arissa could still feel the coldness crept up her body, despite the thick layers of clothing she wore for this occasion. She was not exactly sure what kind of craziness that possessed her, coming here when she knew the weather would be colder than what she was used to. This errand, was by far the most challenging one she had heard during her time at Hogwarts.
Arissa, along with her companion had come here under the intention of being simple bystanders, but...
Stepping forward and pointing her wand towards the nearby twig, she chanted, "Incendio!" True to her calculations, the fire was extinguish easily by the wind, leaving the trail of smoke on its wake.
"Not even two seconds." She murmured, staring at the twig, before wandering to the other students in the snowstorm. As of now, none has managed to make their fire without it being extinguished by the wind, but she could certainly see the students began to form their own team after the brief failure. Turning to the dark haired Slytherin besides her, she spoke. "While I do believe this kind of task was quite an impossible feat to achieve, merely watching under the guise of entertainment seems to be quite dull, don't you think? Why don't we take advantage of the fact that we're here and try it as well?"
Being in a team would surely increase the success rate, only if, there was at least one person on that team who could arrange a suitable strategy to face this challenge. It's a good thing that both of them at least could be considered as smart in term of intellect.
"One thing that we should take importance of is to make sure that we're blocking the harsh wind at least enough that the fire lasted at least ten seconds. Is there anything we could use to manage that?" Despite her effort in searching for things that might help them, with the snow blocking her vision, the only thing apart from the snow she could laid her eyes on were the twigs.
