Of Unlikely Pair And Flobberworm

Date: January 7th
Day: Thursday
Venue: Potion Classroom
Interacting with @Simon Kincaid
Arissa didn't particularly like potions, but neither did she harbor any dislikes towards them. Her opinion was neutral at best, even when the Slytherins have a joint class with Gryffindors. Until now, that is. A Hufflepuff and Slytherin pair? What nonsense. She was sure that majority of the students from both houses would oppose that 'wonderful' idea, if the resounding groans and complaints from both houses were any indication.
Grey eyes were wandering on those with green ties, whose expression could be described as unpleasant at best. Only few from her house was happy with the current arrangement, while most were not amused to say the least. Arissa did share their sentiment, considering the fact that she dislikes mixing herself with others that did not share the same status. Unlike few who judged people by their blood status, Arissa prefers to choose people who harbor interesting qualities as well as intelligence and excellent mannerism.
She was not one who could be considered as friendly, but she should bear with it, at least. That's what a proper lady would do after all, especially when they were thrown out of their safe zone. Arissa could say that only the one with green ties could be considered as her safe zone, the friendly one with green ties of course - she make sure to avoid any interaction with those who lack qualities she took importance of, and only a few from other houses.
'Bear with it.' That's all there was.
The only thing she could consider as fortunate was the fact that their partners for this joint class was the house of badgers, Hufflepuff. If it was the Gryffindors, then she was confident that the groan that came out from her housemates would be louder and the protest would be more troublesome. From the corner of her eyes, she saw a few from her house has already made their way towards the Hufflepuffs, friendly pleasantries were shared, leaving only the hostile snakes standing among themselves.
Arissa was among those people, though she didn't exactly shot the Hufflepuffs a cold glance along with her housemates. No, she simply lifted her chin up and gave those who dare to glance at her the haughty expression she often used. However, seeing as there's no other way out, and the fact that the potential good partners keep decreasing, she strode towards the nearest seat which belong the least troublesome Hufflepuff she saw and plopped next to him, ignoring the cold glare she received from a browned haired Slytherin who she so conveniently pushed out of the way. Just like that.
No excuse me, sorry, nothing. No permission needed from said Hufflepuff it seemed, as she already made her decision. From the looks of it, the boy seemed easy-going enough, and even if he refused her kindness of being his partner, she would have none of it.
A brief silence came between the two, before she spoke, "Hello. I'll be your partner for today."
"Elegant and unruffled, impassioned yet unmoved...That's what I am, and that's what I must be."
