It feels like only yesterday the green eyes flew up to Brazil (alongside Kara) for their Christmas holiday. Then the news about their father been missing finally come to a light. Now, it is already January 12^th. If not because the letter and the Slytherin Calendar that Opeila nicely set it up, Cash probably forgot today is Kara's birthday.

The short brown haired that Cash slowly grow fond of, today she will turned thirteen. They read the short letter. In the letter Kara suggested to wear warm clothes since it was an outdoor party. It will be at the Great Lake it seems. The note also said there'll be skates, cupcake and ice cream. At the mentioned of skates and cupcakes, a smile break from the green eyes's lips.

Cash can not remembered when was the last time they skated. With how busy both of their parents, Cash sometimes missed the time when the three of them will do some activities together. Now it was just a distant memory. They had been send out an owl to informed their helpers back at the Ironwoods Manor to send a gift.

It seems Ceeley (the Ironwoods house elf) go above and beyond. Poor Blackjack (the Ironwoods family owl) needed to go back and forth to delivered the purple haired gift. In scrawly handwriting, Ceeley stated the violin was their mothers' possession but Cash's mother no longer used it.

Ceeley even told the brand for it that make Cash shot both of their eyebrows up to their hairline when they know the violin was a vintage one and not many of that kind being produced. The next one was in a box that was wrapped in dark blue gift wrapper with white stars printed all over it. Cash did not dare to shake it.

Afraid if they done that, they might broke something inside the box that is breakable and fragile. The last one from the package is a card. In that card attached a small note with their abuelo (grandfather - from their mother's side) handwriting. The note was written in Spanish that said 'you better bring this kid home one of these day and introduced them to us'.

Cash shook their head with that note, did not have a clue how their abuelo know about the gift Cash wanted to give to Kara. And so, now the Beater on their journey toward the Great Lake. The violin bag strapped against their back. The second gift is securely on their hand. The gift card in their black skinny jeans pocket.

Once Cash arrived at the Great Lake, a cat padded to them. Cash looked down when the cat rubbed against their leg. Cash crouched down, the blue box tucked safely under their arm and scratch the cat chin softly. "Hey there!"They greeted the cat. "You must be Moonshine"Cash stated. "Where is Kara, hm?"They inquired the cat.

Cash chuckled when the cat let out a purred and meowing like he understand what Cash said to him.

Kara was gently gliding across the ice, her eyes closed. She was in the moment. All of reality's burdens seemed to disappear from Kara's shoulders. She was doing something she loved, and it made her really happy.

Her feet twirled as her hands and arms moved gently along with the breeze. The wind seemed to be dancing with her. Her eyes were not open as she was doing the graceful routine, so she did not notice her girlfriend showing up. Well, they weren't official yet, but the two had their first kiss together, so that was just Kara's personal opinion.

Her dazed self was only snapped out of it when Moonshine, the fluffy silver cat, had started meowing. Kara stopped herself, making some snow from the abrupt halt of the blades on the ice. She could see in the distance someone with purple hair. It was Cassie!

She skated up towards the shore before hopping off of the frozen-over lake to get to her. Kara had been quite good at ice skating, and since she was walking on dirt, it was easier to walk off of the ice for her than others.

"Hey Cassie! It's nice to see you again, even though I saw you yesterday...Nevermind that. Thanks for showing up!" She gave the purple haired person a small hug and a slight kiss before backing up.

"If you need to, I can take those off your hands," Kara tilted her head to the presents Cassie was holding "And you can grab a cupcake. And speaking of which, now I want one..."

Kara turned, with or without one of the gifts if Cassie accepted or denied, and she went off towards the table where she grabbed a plate and one of the plastic spoons. She placed one of the cupcakes onto it, and then scooped a bit of ice cream onto it as well (it's vanilla, she's got some boring taste buds).

She sat on the ground with one of her leg's bent, the other splayed out, trying to find a comfortable position on the hard, dirt ground. She took the wrapping off of the cupcake and bit into it.

"Wow, this is really good, you gotta try one of these Cas!"

Henry carried the box under his arm as he walked through the bitter cold grounds with Loki by his side. January in Scotland was by far bitter in Henry's mind and even through the twelve year old would have liked to leave the cat in his dorm, Loki insisted he occupied him to the lake so Henry had Loki's leather jacket with a santa stitch on the back from the secret santa errand on to ensure he stayed warm.

The second year and his cat were heading toward the great lake because it was Kara Capricorn birthday still fresh memories of the day where she told him about the personality disorder not that he told anyone because he didn't but still the boy still remembered that night even if he didn't want to.

So the boy was heading down to her birthday with a box that held two gifts; one was a handmade bracelet each with a different color selection made to secretly represent her different personalities as he thought it might be a rather nice gift to get and the other was a crochet cat he made since the boy remembered that Kara also had a cat.

Henry approached the party as a thought went back to the hunt when Heather mentioned being friends witu the second year slytherin as well and Henry hoped to see the ravenclaw there as well when he came to a halt at the sight of Cash carrying multiple gifts and was talking to Kara. While Cash was a friend, that didn't mean his anxiety didn't rise at the sight of them mostly because Henry knew of the Ironwoods rather rich heritage which means comparing gifts and all that day could make Henry seem rather poor which was sort of true with his family and all.

Henry took a deep breath and approach as he saw another cat there; Moonshine and Loki bounded after the other feline to say hi while Henry approached the two Slytherin's as he spoke " hey Kara and Cash! Sorry I came a bit late, I was in the library."

As Kara was biting into the blue cupcakes she had brought to the party, Moonshine hopped onto Cassie's lap and started to meow, before laying down and closing her eyes, her fur puffed out from the cold.

Kara giggled at her cat, softly stroking her and planting a kiss on Moonshine's head, leaning back up to leave a kiss on Cassie's cheek.

Before long, Moonshine hopped up and started scampering over to something. Kara cocked her head, raising an eyebrow before seeing a recognizable ginger tabby cat. It was Loki, Henry Knight's cat. Not to far behind Loki was his owner, the one and only Henry Knight.

"Hey there Henry! Glad you could make it!" Kara got up with her plate in hand, stopping by the small table to put it down before going to Henry.

"Hey Kara and Cash! Sorry I came a bit late, I was in the library." He said apologetically.

"Oh don't worry about it! Your actually one of the first to come, other than Cassie of course!" Kara laughed a little before pointing to the table.

"You can put anything you brought over there. There is also food and ice skates over there if you like to ice skate like me. And don't worry, the Great Lake is safe to be in right now, I checked already."

Kara turned, going to Cassie and putting their hand in hers.

"I'm gonna go skating. You can join me if you'd like," She then turned her head to Henry "You can as well! The shoes are enchanted to fit you automatically. When I had found them, I kinda splurged all my money on them!"

After that, she went off to the Great Lake, started to skate, doing a few tricks and twirls every now and then. To her, it was perfect to skate. It was an escape from reality.
