So. . . Wanna Dance?
Jan. 20th
12 days after meeting
Michael wasn't one to make slow connections, but with Paige, he swore he never talked with someone this much. He had told her all about his family, from his amazing grandparents that he grew up with, to his neglectful parents, to his sisters, who he wished he could talk to more.
"I just. . I can't connect with them, because it feels like . . like I have too, and I know it will be forced."
He shared stories from when he first had accidental magic with his grandparents, turning his hair rainbow in anger, and not being able to turn it back so he hid.
"My grandmother found me, crying with my knees to my chest, hair sticking up, blue this way, Green that way, she just opened her arms for me. I thought she'd laugh, are be mad, but she was so understanding and proud, even though I looked so bad."
He had never felt closer to so one within so little time.
Today, he was in the library, a place he stayed most days, until he was kicked out to go to his dorms. He had told Paige he was going to be there if she needed him, though he hoped she'd come, as he had something he wanted to ask.

So. . . Wanna Dance?
Paige was reading a book in her bed, as per usual. But there would only be one thing in her mind that day: Michael. In just so little time, they had become friends who could call to each other if ever needed. He had spilled his guys, and so did Paige.
"Being a muggle, things were so much different. You didn't use spells that can easily be defected to hurt people. You used words. Words that could cut deeper than the most painful spell you know. Because words are like unforgivable curses. I had a friend. But... we- She- changed. The want for more attention reached her. The attention she wasn't going to get by being friends with me. When I got my letter, I had nothing to lose. I want to get a career that helps people. That makes a difference. So I can prove to myself that when those kids called me worthless, they were wrong."[i/]
She sat up. She walked to the library. She felt for Michael, yet their friendship was still new.
She walked into the library where she knew she could find him. And she saw him, like she knew she would. She walked over and sat next to him. She smiled. "Hey, you."

Michael hummed as he saw her. "Heya, Paige" he said smiling. "Can you believe they don't have any books by werewolves that aren't in the subject of creatures? I wonder if theres ever been a novel from a wolf." He said and moved to grab a book handing it to her.
"Read the first page, and will you go to the ball with me?" He said, trying to be causal even thought his cheeks were growing redder by the second. He just grabbed another book, stuffing his flushed face in it,to keep from seeing hers and what her expression might be.
Would she say no? What if she decided to go with someone else? Or, what if she plainly didn't want to go with him?
What if she said yes? What would he wear? What if she wanted him to wear something and he didn't have it and she got upset? What if. .
He settled his mind, his what ifs quieting as he bite his lip. Even if she said no they can still be friends, and can have a dance together. Yeah, everything will be fine. That didn't stop his mind from saying : what if she didn't even hear the question.

Paige pulled the book in front if her. She scanned the first Paige but then stopped. A smile crept on to her face as she slowly looked at Michael who had shoved his face into a book. No doubt was his face red like Paige's. Except she wasn't embarrassed. Her face was red with joy. She gently lowered the book from Michael's hands. She nodded. "Yes. Yes I would love to" She had a huge smile. Someone actually liked her!
She couldn't believe it. Not at all. She didn't think she was the type of person someone could like. Ever. For one, she was under weight, two, she was short, three, she could be "annoying", and four, well, there was no four. But still. She was overjoyed. Without thinking she hugged Michael before quickly pulling away.
"I can't wait." Paige sat up. "Oh, and be warned: I can be a klutz sometimes." She joked. She continued looking at the first page of the book. "And you're totally right." She shook her head. "Shame." She looked at all the books pulled out. We have so much in common, don't we. Paige knew then and there that she was going to have the best night of her life.
