History/Backstory:

Pre-Hogwarts:Nora Edwards was born on June 2nd, 2009, in Chelmsford to Evangeline and Michael Edwards. Her parents were a little worried that Elsa, her older muggle half-sister, would be jealous of Nora, so they spent the first several months of Nora's life making sure Elsa knew that they loved her as much as they loved Nora. But Elsa wasn't jealous. She adored her baby sister and they quickly became inseparable, to the point where many of Elsa's childhood friends became Nora's friends (with a few exceptions, who weren't happy that a child five years younger than them was tagging along all the time). It was almost like she became the honorary little sister of the group and, as they grew up, they always made sure to keep her included. They were all very excited to hear that she made it into a boarding school for gifted children, making her promise to write to them. The few exceptions did end up causing some rifts in the friend group. Nora had (and still has) a tendency to ramble about whatever she was excited about or if she was nervous. Most of the friends went along with it and encouraged her, but two girls cornered her the one day while Elsa was distracted and told her that no one wanted to listen to her ramble about topics no one cared about and that she should make her own friends because Elsa wouldn't be there for Nora to cling to forever. Nora began to cry, which drew the attention of everyone else. The group was split once the situation was explained. One girl sided with the two girls and the other 3 girls sided with Nora and Elsa. No one at school knew why the friend group split, only that it had to do with Nora, so her classmates with older siblings began pressuring her to discover the reason why, leading her to cling harder to Elsa. But she wanted to make friends of her own and tried her hardest to be friendly like Elsa. It just hurt her when she found out that some people found her weird and other people were just trying to get close to know about drama.

First Instance of Magic/Education: Elsa was aware that her stepmom and her sister were different, but since Evangeline never obviously used magic, she wasn't aware of just how different they were. That is, until Nora's first instance of accidental magic. Nora and Elsa were playing outside in the garden when Nora was three. They were running around with a ball when it accidently rolled into some of the flowers, crushing them. Elsa was upset and picked up the ball, telling Nora they couldn't play anymore because their mother would be mad. Nora became upset and started crying. The flowers that were crushed straightened back up (though the petals were still a mess and the stems were not going to be as effective as before). Elsa immediately ran with Nora to show their parents, all the tears forgotten. Their parents realized that adding magic to the education both girls received would be necessary. So Evangeline began teaching the girls how to identify and prepare magical ingredients. Elsa would never be able to do things with the ingredients, but teaching Elsa meant Elsa could help Nora learn as they both grew up. Both girls took to the lessons well, even Nora. They turned everything into a game, a competition, and that spilled over into other aspects of their muggle education. Nora began reading as much as she could so she could try to keep up with Elsa, demanding that Elsa explain more complicated mathematical constructs to her.

Personality: Despite her competitive streak when it comes to knowledge, Nora is a very sweet child. She wants to get along with everyone and can be upset when someone rejects her friendship, as she interprets it as someone finding her annoying. She loves learning, but, because she's used to quickly picking things up, she can get easily frustrated if she doesn't immediately understand and will need to take a break to calm down before she can go back to trying to finish her task.
