An Unexpectedly Pleasant Day
The grounds of Hogwarts as always had a certain appeal and mystique about them, especially on days like today. Days when the vibrant blue sky wasn't exactly clear, but not exactly covered by a sea of white and varying shades of gray clouds. No today was cool day with partial cloud cover and an easygoing breeze that lazily swept through the grounds.
In short it was a beautiful day, a bit colder than normal true but beautiful none the less. Quinn was quite happy for this, as the last few weeks there was an off streak of rain storms. Not uncommon for this time of year, much of the grounds were still damp or puddle ridden. The sun however had made sure to help clean up some of that mess, especially now that it was midday and the sun would be at its highest point.
Seeing the opportunity that lie before him, Quinn went to his room going into his trunk to retrieve a few things. The red curly headed boy had never made it a habit to skip class. To be honest this might be the first time since he's come to Hogwarts, which wasn't long that he would skip a class. The day though was just too beautiful, too enticing to not explore, and note its possible mysteries. Quinn's freckle ridden hands rummaged through his school sack removing nearly everything from it. Neatly Quinn put everything up only taking one of his notebooks, some parchment and his quill and ink.
Feeling satisfied with himself Quinn took what he needed, making sure to grab his wand as well a beautiful piece really. Leaving the confines of his room the relatively tall and slender boy passed through the common room, kitchens, and corridors. Eventually Quinn made his way outside to the grounds outside the Medieval Scottish Castle. Turning around to see part of the castles outside his eyes widened in astonishment and awe. Every time without fail the castles size and grandeur always amazed him.
"Truly magnificent." He ran his slim fingers through his hair slicking it back to remove it from the path of his eyes. Turning back around Quinn decided to explore the grounds some more. Truthfully he had attempted to do so before but made the mistake of doing it just before dark. Which reminded him he might find a good scoop while exploring the grounds. After all he really wanted another juicy story to cover to impress the others at the Hufflepost and prove his worth.
That however was besides the point though. Arranging his scarf to better cover his neck and part of his mouth Quinn ventured forth unsure of what this day would bring. 'Perhaps something pleasant?' He thought to himself as he followed a random path on the grounds making his way slightly away from the castle itself. Though for the most part he remained a little close to the castle not wanting to venture to far off just yet.

An Unexpectedly Pleasant Day
Just another day, simple wind and neutral sky. It was like natures blanket Zella was anxious to wrap herself in. The aroma of a nice breeze and fresh air intertwined and allowed her to be herself. The grounds was like a second home. It was utterly difficult to have such negative vibes in such a fascinating place.
Zella plops down on the grass and takes out her diary. "What to write..." she whispers to herself, trying to reflect on her day. She jots down her positive encounters closes her book in a careful manner and placed it back in her bag. As she did so, she saw something not so pleasant. Zella, self-cautiously, looked around to make sure no one was watching as she slowly pulls out her failed test. Glancing down at it, she noticed how much she truly didn't understand. She didn't want to make too much of it. "Of course. It's one of the many I'm bound to take. One doesn't effect me." she said positively. Zella knew, though, that her own words weren't helping.
Zella pulls back her hair and takes a deep breath. She closed her eyes and day dreamed. Happy dreams of course. She dreamt about how maybe one day she'll have a bunch of friends and make good memories with them. Zella smiled as she couldn't stop having such contented envisions. Being in an environment where she can roam freely without limits made her happiness only grow. It was like she could be outdoors for hours.

An Unexpectedly Pleasant Day
Quinn continued to explore the grounds taking out his notebook to document little anomalies he had either never noticed before, or never knew about it. Truly it was curious and again he could not deny the debatably lazy atmosphere of the day. As Quinn was walking around he had noticed something, something that previously was not in his vision before. A young girl, and from her attire and colors she was a Gryffindor he could say safely assume.
"Interesting~" He cooed to himself his interest officially piqued. He began to walk closer slowing down his pace so as not to tun up on the girl. That was the last thing he needed to do, definitely the last thing. As the boy came closer he noticed her long red here, dyed, quite interesting indeed. He thought getting even closer.
At this point he was only a few feet away a smile plastered to his fair skinned, freckle filled face. After a moment of unintentional staring he could tell she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. Come on Quinn don't you stare at her like a creep. The girl doesn't even know you yet! He thought to himself again mentally punching himself for being a bit creepy a moment ago.
Blushing softly Quinn walked closer stopping barely a foot from her, "Hi! A pleasant day to be outside isn't it?"

An Unexpectedly Pleasant Day
It was like the positive thoughts couldn't go away. Slowly, yet surely, Zella began to snap back to reality. But before she could a voice from behind brought her to a scream.
"AHHHH! -Wait, I'm sorry! I mean-I didn't think anyone was here." Zella shook her head and stood up from the ground to see who had startled her. Once she turned around she noticed the boy standing practically right in front of her. Zella's heart began to beat fast as she tried to calm down. Ignoring the fact she just yelled, she responded the boys question. "Yeah, of course! Any day like today is pleasant. It would be odd of me not to be outside at such a wonderful time. "
She gripped on her skirt as she grew nervous. A boy had walked up to her... and he didn't just keep walking or turned the other direction. Zella knew now was her chance. A friend! Someone to talk to and hang out with. She was starting to get ahead of herself. Without hesitation, Zella reached out her hand. "Im Zella. Zella Camp. Gryffindor." she said enthusiastically.

Zella tried really hard to not act to weird. Being modest and or serious was difficult for her. Considering her upbeat and fun personality, she also wanted to be herself. Was it too much to act like someone you're not to impress others? In her mind it was a splendid idea to make a good impression. She doesn't want him to know she struggles in school or acts silly on a daily basis. She adjusted her shoulders and smiled bigger.

"AHHHH! -Wait, I'm sorry! I mean-I didn't think anyone was here." He couldn't help but chuckle at her startlement almost laughing. He managed to contain himself as the sudden laughter would have been seen as quite rude. Quinn blushed lightly once he saw her eyes, they were quite beautiful and a brownish red of all colors. Interesting, must be contacts, Quinn thought to himself staring at the girl unintentionally again.
"Yeah, of course! Any day like today is pleasant. It would be odd of me not to be outside at such a wonderful time. " She had a good point who wouldn't be outside on a day like this. A stickler that's who or at least that's what Quinn felt anyway. "Im Zella. Zella Camp. Gryffindor." He couldn't help but smile even wider smiling practically from ear to ear. Any more and one might fear his face would be permanently stuck like that showing his pearly whites and all.
Quinn all too eagerly took her hand grasping it with his slim hand firmly and shaking it vigorously. "Hi Zella, that's a beautiful name. The names Hin Quealy- I-I mean Quinn Healy. A bit of a strange name I know but we Healy's are nothing if not modest! I'm a Hufflepuff by the way." His blush worsened a bit as he realized his fumble.

"Hi Zella, that's a beautiful name. The names Hin Quealy- I-I mean Quinn Healy. A bit of a strange name I know but we Healy's are nothing if not modest! I'm a Hufflepuff by the way." Zella began to play with her hair after hearing the flattering comment. She began to rethink herself. She just has to be who she really was. If she tried to be who she wasn't it could make things worse.
"Awe thanks Quinn! ...Quinn, I really like that name!" Zella tried to maintain herself from being too excited. "So, what brings you to the Grounds? I normally come here to sit and get fresh air. Especially on days like today. I really needed it! Considered I failed my test on- OH NO!" Zella talked faster and couldn't stop herself. "I mean-I didn't fail it was more like a...made a few big errors! It's not that big of deal!" Zella turned around and slapped her hand against her forehead and whispered to herself in confusion. "Really, Zella?"
She grew red and almost shed a tear but didn't. This is exactly what she worried about. With her anxiety, it makes it super difficult for her to present herself properly. Zella knew what she blurted out and felt ashamed of it. She isn't the smartest and tried so hard to hide that. "So much for first impression." She thought to herself.

Taking a moment Quinn couldn't help but notice the softness of her hand as he shook it causing him to blush. Come on Quinn don't be a weirdo it was just a hand shake! Internally he groaned trying not to let the fact that he was flushing show.
Faintly Quinn could not help but blush, this girl he had just met was quite funny and cute. But those were thoughts for later, things he would have to sort out. Curious. He chuckled internally laughing almost on the outside. "Oh you failed a paper. What class was it perhaps I can help you out."
The boy warmly offered smiling innocently. "To answer your question I came out here to draw and take not of anything that caught my fancy." Relaxing a bit he allowed his heavy Irish accent to come more to the front. "I hope you don't mind if I talk like this, sometimes It's just easier to let my accent flow out naturally instead of suppressing it ya know?"
He laughed quite hardily moving his hair out of his face in the process, "You know Zella why don't we study together I really love all the courses here and I spend a lot of time in the library reading. I mean I want to read all the books in there that they possibly have before I leave. It may be impossible but you never until you try. At least that's what we Healy's all believe" With a proud huff he smirked puffing out his chest slightly looking quite silly.

Zella was becoming very aware of her actions and started to think she was getting nervous for other reasons... No no no, it can't be. She turns and stares into Quinn's eyes and felt like she couldn't turn away. After a moment passed she forced herself to not act so weird.
"Oh you failed a paper. What class was it perhaps I can help you out." Zella would really need that, but is it to much? She could use some help on her spells and if he is offering... it would be rude not to accept. "Well, my spells are just not entirely perfected. I would love some help Quinn... Thank you!" Zella couldn't help but let out a cute laugh.
"To answer your question I came out here to draw and take not of anything that caught my fancy." Drawing? Zella grinned vigorously, for she shares the same interest as Quinn. "Drawing is really cool! I'm no good at it but some sketches here and there. I'd love to see your art some day!" Zella's voice grew lighter and much more happier.
"I hope you don't mind if I talk like this, sometimes It's just easier to let my accent flow out naturally instead of suppressing it ya know?" Zella was really intrigued by his Irish accent. It was rather cute and made her smile. When she heard him laugh she noticed how natural and genuine it was.

We should study together and it would be so much fun to also just hang out in the library too!"

"Yeah! We should study together and it would be so much fun to also just hang out in the library too!" Quinn looked at her in surprise for a moment, her response was so genuine and sweet. The added giggle too....No Quinn get a hold of yourself you two just met! He shook his head trying to shake away his thoughts. He didn't even know what exactly it was he was feeling at the moment anyway. Questions for later.
With that Quinn nodded, "Definitely, if you show me what you are having trouble with I can absolutely do my best to help you out." The red headed boy excitedly said happy to be making yet another new friend. Things were really starting to look up for the young wizarding boy.
Quinn guessed correctly or at least that's what he thought, the day was taking an unexpectedly pleasant turn for the better. Unintentionally without noticing Quinn did start to stare at Zella a albeit
a little too intensely yet again. His greenish blue eyes practically glued to her eyes, his thoughts lost and wondering. Before he even really knew what he was doing Quinn had been staring at her for longer then he should have. The faint blush on the boys face quickly lit up and turned into a now visible blush. Bashfully Quinn looked somewhere else, "S-Sorry about that, I didn't mean to stare."
"So what were you thinking about when I walked up to you?" The boy curiously asked quickly trying to change subjects. Hoping to whoever would listen that she wasn't too weirded out by his staring.

Zella was starting to feel comfortable around Quinn and they just met. Zella was sure she wanted to be friends with him and came to a conclusion that he wanted the same. She noticed how sweet and kind the boy was being to her. Zella felt like she was special for once, and that someone cared about her.
Other than her childhood friend, she didn't think it was possible to go out of her way to communicate with other people. A moment after, Zella noticed Quinn staring. For some reason, Zella didn't mind it. "S-Sorry about that, I didn't mean to stare." She blushed. Zella pushed her hair behind her and smiled. She added a playful giggle and held her hand in front of her mouth as she did so.

"So what were you thinking about when I walked up to you?" Zella stopped smiling. She knew her own thoughts get the best of her. She was embarrassed to say what she was thinking about. If he knew I was daydreaming about making friends, he'll think I'm lame. He already knows I'm struggling in school. She tried to think of a lie, something that was interesting. Instead she shook her head and told the honest truth. "Um, you know, just... stuff." She began to talk faster. It happens when she's nervous. "I guess I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have a bunch of friends! Being popular and super smart! Just to fit in and be cool. It's dumb I know. But, why would I need a bunch of friends...when I have you?" Without noticing what she said her face grew noticeably red. D-Did... I JUST SAY THAT?
