Mending Wounds
Wren stood by the side of the hospital bed, looking out through the window. Her left wrist had a brace and a bandage was wrapped around her hand. Birds flew by the glass, and their loud chatter could be heard from inside. Small waves in the lake and dropping leaves announced the presence of a strong wind. Yet she hardly noticed any of it. She was thinking about the night that she'd been out on the grounds. The whole night seemed a little hazy to her. She remembered running around the grounds, missing a step and falling off the side of the cliff. The nurses had asked her multiple times what happened, but she kept for mouth shut. She wasn't supposed to be outside in the first place, but after the fall there was no doubt more strings would've been woven into the blanket. She wasn't sure how many people knew where she'd gone, and she wasn't sure if she wanted them to know. She was known to be the troublemaker, but this topped even her most extreme expeditions.
"Why did I do that?" Wren spoke harshly to herself in parselmouth, realizing that at some point her parents would find out. They were never very supportive of her adventurous aspect, they felt it got her into trouble. They surely wouldn't approve of this one.
"Paisley," she muttered, suddenly remembering the young Gryffindor, "She doesn't know." A quiet thud echoed throughout the hospital wing as the doors were swung open. The familiar sight of brown hair and green eyes greeted her as if she'd summoned the girl, and she almost had to resist the urge to smile.

Mending Wounds
Paisley's spirits were high. She had found the second crystal! She clutched it in her hands, glancing at it every few moments to make sure it was still there. It resembled the red one perfectly. This has to be it! she thought, excitedly. Her mind flicked to Wren. I wonder what got her stuck in here? What will I say when I see her? Will the nurse let me in? Goodness, I haven't been in here since my meeting with Aldor. Now that is what I call embarrassing. She broke out of her thoughts and pushed open the door to the hospital wing. As soon as she saw Wren lying in bed her spirits dropped.@Wren Windgazer
"Dipper!" she called, rushing over and stumbling over a rack. She recovered and spoke quickly. "What're you doing here? What happened?" she sat down on the bed, looking at the girl she despised most. She was bruised and was wearing a brace on her arm. She seemed tired and unrested, and despite all of her negative feelings towards the girl, she felt sympathy overcome her. "Have you been sleeping? Eating? Do you have water? Where have you been?" Suddenly she was angry. "You did something stupid. I can see it on your face. Dipper Windgazer, I expect better behavior from you!" she said strictly. She knew Wren would get herself killed if she wasn't more careful. Paisley was just speaking out of love for her friend enemy.
