At first impressions, Eddie Brackett is no different to any other 12 year old boy at Hogwarts. At an average height of 5” he is neither tall nor short, and weighing in at 40 kgs with a medium slim build. He keeps his brown hair cut short that contrasts with his green eyes that inherited from his Mother. Overall Eddie is well-kept, being clean, tidy and well presented however not nothing to make a statement with his clothes or his appearance. His clothing choice outside of school uniforms, usually is practical clean, tidy and most probably un-memorable. Eddie ultimately wants to blend in with everyone else; not out of anxiety or nervousness, but out of not giving a shit what others think of him.

ps. Some say Eddie has an uncanny resemblance to Nathan O'Toole.

Independent
His Parents may have called him stubborn, his old teachers may see him arrogant, but deep down Eddie is fiercely independent. Growing up in Nettleham, England, he was born into a life of endless restrictions, rules and an absolute lack of things to do. After Twelve years of being told that the perfect life is one of peace and quiet, Edward has decided that he won’t allow others to decide what he does or doesn’t want. He isn’t a boy who is stupidly stubborn (contrary to what his Mother might say), but someone who knows what he wants and won’t allow others to tell him otherwise. Healthy debate or a well reasoned argument can always sway his mind, but ultimately what he believes or do, must come from his own initiative.

Ambitious
There is a reason Eddie’s Parents, Harriet and Nolan Brackett, are wizards that very few people know. His Father a struggling Artist, and his Mother wrote a murder mystery series for kids. For a large chunk of Eddie’s childhood was marked with his Parents struggling to provide for their kids because other lifestyle choices. Even Eddie’s ability to go to Hogwarts was at stake due to their financial situation. But the older he got, the wealth gap between him and his fellow class mates became clear, and he started to resent his Parents career choice. He hated the selfishness of his parents, and has vowed that he will not follow in their footsteps and will make something of himself.

Rational
Edward prides himself on making decisions on what will lead to the best outcome rather than on emotions. He isn’t one to react with thoughtless emotion but to make every decision rationally. Of course he does at times act out in anger or under stress, but ultimately he strives in his day to day life not allow emotion rule his life. This can at times can make him appear cold-hearted, however it isn't that he doesn't care for other people's emotions, he just believes that the truth trumps people's feelings. He doesn’t say things to piss people off or to hurt them for the point of it. Deep down he doesn’t give a shit what people think of him and just wants a good time. Some people are going to find him easy going, laid back and down to Earth. Others are going to find him blunt, rude and an arse(hole).

Life is too fun to take serious. Eddie might have big dreams and ambitions, but being a twelve year old away from the watchful eyes of his parents, he just wants to have fun. He wants adventures, he wants to sneak around the castle at night, he wants to be remembered for the pranks they commit.

Born on the 13th of November 2008 to Harriet and Nolan Brackett of Nettleham. Both his Parents made a living as artists. His Father sold magic paintings while his Mother wrote a murder mystery book series. The oldest child with two younger sisters, the Brackett family barely made ends meet. Edward was provided with everything he needed but with very little of anything else. When he was younger, he was proud of his Parent's life choices and quirks. But the older he got, the wealth gap between him and his fellow class mates became clear, and he started to resent his Parents career choice.

Edward's first instance of magic was when he was four years old. When his Parents stashed the remaining chocolate frogs on the top shelf of the pantry, Edward attempted to climb the pantry shelves but was dragged away kicking and screaming. Just as he was dragged out of the kitchen the chocolate frog flew off the top-shelf and skidded along the kitchen floor.

He was generally well liked at school among his peers. He was laid back and easy going, for the except of the rare few who found offence to his blunt honesty comments. His teachers however found him difficult. Though studious in the subjects that fascinated him, he would rather be outside than stuck at a desk learning something he believed was irrelevant. Ever since turning eleven, Edward could not wait to start Hogwarts. He longed to break away from his family's rules and restrictive lifestyle. He longed for adventure, and to explore the wider world outside of Nettleham and Daigon Alley.
