Just like riding a bike
Only when his homework was completed, Heinrich usually spent time after classes wandering aimlessly around the school. The lack of friends left him to his own devices, which was not much really. There was only so much around the school to explore. Heinrich had already covered most of the ground and levels in the Scottish castle. He hadn't yet mustered the courage to wander further towards the darker parts of the grounds shaded by tall silhouettes of trees. Each day, he was left with lesser things to pass his time with.
If it weren't for the many notices pinned to the board in the hufflepuff common room, Heinrich might never have come to know about the quidditch team. As a former farm boy who had almost no knowledge of the wizarding world, Quidditch among many other things were something new to the boy. Heinrich decided to watch one of his house's bi-weekly training sessions and since then, he'd been to every session after and bringing along some snacks in hand.
Each afternoon, he would make his way up to the hufflepuff stands alone, not cheering but just silently watching in awe as the member sped past. By now, Heinrich got the basics of the game but there was one member in particular would catch the eleven year old's attention, an abnormally tall ginger boy. The strength that the boy possessed was incredible, he was able to counter the steel projectiles with such speed and accuracy was spectacular. It was not long before Heinrich found out that this towering older year was none other than the team's captain himself.
Today, Heinrich was once again spectating the team's intensive training. Clutched to his chest was a small colourful box resembling a cereal carton. His hands would snake into the opening before producing a bone-shape snack and popping it into his mouth. The bright blue hues of his darted around trying to keep up with all the movement and passes. Before he knew it, the training session was over. It took sometime for Heinrich to muster the courage to decide to approach the older year. He was about twice his own size, a rather intimidating factor. However, Quidditch might have as well be Heinrich's next favourite thing, even if he had never mounted a broom before. So after watching an hour long training session, Heinrich hastily scurried down the steps to the grounds, snackbox in hand.
Perhaps he'd been too excited, or more so nervous. "E-Excuse me, excuse me," He could call out to the towering boy as his feet trampled the grass below, closing the distance between them. However, a misplacement of foot caused him to launch forward, falling face flat into the ground right in front of the red head boy. The scooby-doo snack box would be flung across the grounds. Fortunately, Heinrich quickly recovered, popping back up to his feet, his face flushed red with embarrassment. Tilting his head upwards he would say, "Hi, I am- uh- Heinrich. I've been watching the team train... uh... I was wondering if I could join the team,"

Just like riding a bike
'Never a dull moment', or so the saying goes.
The teams dwindling roster and recent loss of valuable members had been concerning Quinn. Though there were some recent additions of promising young players. This helped to put his mind at ease. It seemed that while acting as captain he developed a few new nervous ticks. Like chewing on his thumb when deep in thought or stressed during an unexpected play.
Still the ginger Half-Giant wouldn't trade his position for the world. It was fun regardless. Especially the practices in which admittedly he used as an excuse to relieve some pent aggression. He always pulled back the strength of his blows but knew he could pull back quite a bit more. The one side effect was that his strength scared the team which did good to sharpen their skills at dodging or coming up with plays to take him out.
He had long since learned that allowing oneself to think like the opposing team might helped greatly with counter attacking. It didn't always work out but it still did wonders for teamwork. Quinn always went out of his way to reassure the team and show them his gentle side after practice. He could never allow a repeat of the summer championships. The look of terror in his teammates eyes was...
He shook his head. He had gotten off topic. He wiped the sweat off his neck and brow slinging the towel around his shoulders. It was then he heard someone approaching. Turning just in time to see a small boyo face plant and a box of...wad that scooby doo? Interesting. To his relief the boyo quickly recovered albeit quite embarrassed. "Ye al'ight boyo?" His Dublin accent was thick on this day. Truth be told he couldn't be bothered to cover it up. He did so much of that already. He just hoped the boy could understand him, and if not...well the pen and paper was invented for a reason.
He listened to the nervous and embarrassed boyo in front of him. So Heinrich was his name? Nice name that. The last part of his sentence caused the Half-Giant to immediately perk up and dismount his broom grabbing it. A large smile spread across his freckled face, large emerald-blue eyes staring down at the boy. He crouched down taking a knee so he wouldn't have to talk so loud. "Aaaaah ah recognize ye nae. Ye the boyo ah been spaetin in the stands. Well let me ask ya. Whot position ye laekin to play huh? Ah'd be happy to have ye join da team!" He exclaimed with warm excitement.
