Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I still feel as though this is something I must do but I absolutely HATE it all the same!!!

To my closest and dearest friend, Alexa,

Joyeux Noël, mon cher amie! That's French for Happy Christmas, my dear friend! I hope your holidays found you in good tidings and left you with warmth and hapiness!

With that said, I've got some information to give that might come off as a little alarming and for that I apologize. You see, over the holidays I originally was going to go home but instead I decided to pay Bella a visit at school after I was so graciously invited. I accepted and... well, I feel it's the place I need to be.

I'm going to be following Bella's example and be transferring to Beauxbatons myself. I hope this doesn't sound too crazy or tragic because it certainly does not mean the end of our friendship! I would still love for you to write frequently and to visit over the Summer as you had this past. Please do not think I am abandoning you for I won't be far.

I hope you understand and know that this decision wasn't made lightly. I value our friendship and I always will.

Instead of staying at Hogwarts after all during the Christmas season, Alexa went home to visit one parent, and that the other. Her father was going to take her to Diagon Alley to finally get her pet. She was really looking forward to this, in spite of the dismal Christmas with her family.

And then one day during the break, when she was at her mother's new apartment in Inverness, she received an owl with a note from Alina. Alexa tore open excitedly, wondering what her friend was up to, but as her eyes roamed over the letter, her expression darkened, growing sad. When she finished the letter, she put it down on her desk, and stared out the window.

This was going to be a difficult letter to write.

I hope this letter finds you well. While I am of course sad that you will be leaving, I don't think I'm that surprised. Hogwarts has been rough on you, and I'm sorry for that. I hope you will have a much better time at your sister's school in France! That sounds very exciting.

I will miss you greatly, my dear friend, but I understand this was a difficult decision, and I respect it. We can definitely keep in touch through letters! You'll always be my friend.
