Plans and talk of the holiday season filled the air already. Well, it was not yet close to Christmas; it felt as if everybody was in the jolly mood. Even Alec had found himself humming some muggle Christmas tunes on his way to class. He rather liked the season filled with snow, school, and giving, hot chocolate being the bonus to the season that Alec had found himself fond of. What was Alec doing right now? Well, actually setting up for such a seasonal event, hot chocolate included. The boy had come in the earlier hours to decorate, hanging paper snowflakes around the room, and moving the tables and other things around in the room to make sure it was set up and would be ready for later that day. The boy had some weekend reading he wanted to catch up on, this time surprisingly not for school. Just some old, and very dusty muggle fairy tale books Alec had found in the corner of the library.

The fairy tales ended up being very gruesome and dark, Alec would not be reading muggle fairy tales again. In other words, mistakes were made. But here Alec was now, and only slightly traumatized as he started getting ready for the gift exchange. Hot chocolate filled mugs were set on a table, Alec having got a professor to charm the mugs to keep them warm. He'd noticed he seemed to be well liked by the professors, or at the very least well enough liked by them to be able to use such a space on such an afternoon. On another table opposite of where the hot chocolate was lay a lonely present on a small table, yet big enough for more presents to fit. Chairs were set out at random in a small circle, six chairs, six different people. It was a small gathering, one that would last an hour, maybe an hour and a half at most, letting people easily make time out of their day so they could come.

The idea had been chosen on a whim after he'd gone through plentiful amounts of ideas, thinking about how to make the weeks leading up to Christmas more interesting. That and the Secret Santa errand may have put Alec in a giving mood, and boredom with that mood lead to this seasonal event, a seasonal event with people Alec knew that hopefully wouldn't be ruined. Yes, bad luck followed Alec many a time, but he had high hopes about this, besides what could go wrong?

Silence, even in his brain, so silent you could hear crickets chirping. He'd practically sealed himself a terrible for this now, ah bloody hell, and just when Alec thought things were going to go great. The boy shook his head, leaning against the present table as he waited there a few minutes to pass the time before he noticed someone coming. They were a bit early to the gift exchange, but Alec didn't mind. Better late than never. At least he knew someone was coming and would stop jinxing himself with his thoughts. Alec moved to resume his usual position, standing in front of the doorway so he'd be able to greet the people he'd invited as they walked in, filling them in more on as to what was going on. The most he'd said with the invitations so he could get conformation on who was coming was to bring a random gift that would be randomly exchanged with another, seeing as it was a gift exchange and all. One that Alec was hosting and was only allowed to hope would go well.

So for everything that has probably gotten stuck in Merlin's beard,
make this go well.


Alec's Gift Description

Alec goes overboard in the gift making department. He always tend to be a little extra with what he makes and what he gives.[He put Santa on a leather jacket for his Secret Santa because "They gave off leather jacket vibes."] Going on, obviously this wouldn't be much different. Alec's made a knitted navy blue scarf, a knitted navy blue hat, and a navy blue cuff bracelet, all of them obviously matching in colour.

How This Will Work[Must Read]

-Once the thread has reached the max number of participants the thread will be labeled pv. The Friday after such the actual gift exchange will start. Meaning the first small mod post will be posted then.

-When entering the thread you and your gift will be given a number based on arrival time[3 for the 3rd person ect.]

-Since I will be numbering people off for who goes first, whoever enters the thread first after Alec will go first. Alec going last after the latest person.

-Once it is your turn a dice will be rolled randomly by me at home[Extra rolls will be made if needed.], the usual mod post will go up linking the first post of whoever's gift you've been given for the description, and your reaction post will need to go up.

-The reaction post must be posted within a three days time limit of the mod post.[As to keep this going quickly.] If it not posted then actions will be considered void and it'll be stated you left.[Don't worry Alec will make sure your gift still get's to you by owl sometime after.]

-This keeps going till it's the end and everybody has said their goodbyes. Roleplay posts while the actual gift exchange is going on are allowed, but try not to make it contradict with what's going on in that moment.
