Saturday Afternoon

After the first meeting they met Kara a week ago, Cash decided to asked Kara to hang with them some more. The green eyes wore a black winter coat with fur on the hoodie, pair with their Slytherin Quidditch sweater, dark blue jeans with matching winter ankle boots color on their feet and black leather winter gloves with buckle on it.

Cash pocketed their gloves in their jeans, grabbed a small parchment and dipped their quilled on the black ink. On the note it said that they asked Kara to meet them on the Great Hall of Leaky Cauldron. The green eyes then checked their appearance for the last time on the standing mirror in their dorm before exited.

They slipped it under Kara's dorm door hoping one of Kara's dorm mates found it then passed it along to her or Kara herself that will found the little note. After Cash is sure they slipped it on Kara's dorm room door, they passed their Common Room and out from from the Castle, beginning their journey toward Leaky Cauldron.

Before going to Leaky Cauldron, they window shopped for a while at Diagon Alley. Looking at some of the Brooms in the Quality Quidditch Supplies, hoping one day they can buy Silver Arrow so they can use it for the upcoming Quidditch Matches. When the cold air of winter decided to blow, Cash take solace in the warmth of Leaky Cauldron.

Their green eyes scanned the room. There are not many patrons in the joint but a couple who sit in one of the dimly lit corner of the joint seems familiar to them. They narrowed their eyes to get a better view to see one of the couple. Cash swore the woman looks like their mother but they can be wrong about it. Cash then seated on one of the empty chair.

They took off their coat and gloves, revealing their Quidditch sweater. Then called for the waiter and order some hot chocolate to warm their body while waiting for Kara to arrived.

Kara had been getting dressed out of her pajamas when she noticed a note slipped under her door. She wondered who it was from. When she walked to her door and looked around, wondering who it was, the mysterious messenger was already gone.

She closed the door and read the note. It was from her now close friend, and little crush, but Kara herself was to oblivious to notice her feelings. The said person was Cassandra Ironwoods. The two had been hanging out for quite a bit everyday ever since the two had met each other. Something just seemed to had clicked between the two.

Cassie had decided to invite her to the Leaky Cauldron. The two had only hung out in or around school grounds, never leaving the place, so this would be new. It was also quite a bit of a trip, but she and Cassie had been given permission by the school, so Kara had arrived later after Cassie had already disappeared.

She arrived at the Leaky Cauldron, pulling off her beanie and stomping her feet softly to get the snow off her iconic dirty white sneakers. Running a hand through her hair to fix it, she scanned the area to find Cassie, and that she did. They were sitting at a two seater table near a couple that were also there.

She approached the violet haired person, and sat across from them, not taking off her jean jacket, as the girl was only wearing a short-sleeved white and black striped shirt under it.

"Hey there Cassie, thanks for inviting me here!" She smiled softly to them, her hands folded in her lap.

The two had exchanged greetings, but then, a waiter appeared with a hot chocolate and placed it in front of Cassie. The waiter then turned to Kara.

"You seem to have just arrived, would you like anything ma'am?" He had asked Kara.

"Oh, yes actually, I'd like some pumpkin juice please." She said politely.

He glanced over at Cassie, then back at Kara with a playful look.

"Coming right up ma'am. I am sure you and your lover will enjoy it, as pumpkin juice here is given with two straws, as it represents budding love. I just love these types of romances!" The man walked away after writing Kara's order down.

When he left, Kara was just staring at him with a large blush across her cheeks. Pumpkin juice was used to represent...lovers?!?

The gusted of cold air blow from outside of Leaky Cauldron signaling someone had just entered the room. The green eyes can not see who is it since their back facing the wooden door. Then a feminine voice greeted their ears. Only a handful of people that still called them by Cassie. Cash look at the owner of the voice and smile.

"Hey to yourself too and no problem"Cash told to Kara. " I know it quite a trip but I think a change of scenery would not hurt anyone"They chuckled a bit. Not long before that the same waiter that Cash been ordered their hot chocolate from come back and bringing the hot pipping brown liquid. The waiter then asked Kara for her choice of drink.

After Kara told the waiter that she will ordered some Pumpkin Juice, the waiter glanced over to the green eyes and reverted back at Kara. The waiter had a playful look on their face. The purple haired almost bark a rude comment when the waiter look at both of Cash and Kara in certain way. At the end Cash choose to picked up their hot chocolate and blow into it.

They took a small sipped but almost choked with their hot chocolate when the waiter mention that in Leaky Cauldron, Pumpkin Juice served with two straws and it represented budding love. The hot chocolate splashed a bit to their thigh covered jeans. "Bloody hell!"Cash cursed when there was a sting sensation hit their thigh.

When the waiter left, Cash looked at his retreating form in disbelieved. Cash then averted their green eyes at Kara who sporting a large blush on her cheeks. The green eyes cleared their throat. Hoping Kara did not see the blushed that crept up from their neck to their face. "Did he just said I am your lover?"Cash grin cheekily.

They let out a small laugh. "Do not get me wrong; I am fine with it, are you?"Cash had to make sure that Kara also fine with what the waiter assumed of them. "I mean I am good looking and you are beautiful too. We are both in here and people assumed us on a date"Cash told Kara. "Which I pretty much into what other people think of us"Cash stated.

"But if you are not feeling the same way, that is cool too. No pressure"Cash smile. There is a twinkling in their eyes. They glanced back again to the couple who sit on one of the dimly lit corner. When the woman moved a bit forward and the light hit her face, Cash tried not to let out a gasp. It is their mother with another man.

Sure their father had been gone for months but that does not mean he is dead. Cash tried to control their anger and looked back at Kara. Cash picked up the hot chocolate again and this time the brown liquid already warm enough for them. "So what are you up to these day?"Cash inquired Kara as they took a small sip from the cup.

The question that the green eyes throw at Kara is so basic and cliché but the Beater hoping the other girl can distracted them from what they just see.

Kara's blushing face turned to Cassie who let out a yelp of surprise and pain after spilling it onto themselves. Kara asked if they were ok, but they seemed fine. But as she asked, she noticed that the violet haired person had a blush creeping up their own face.

"Did he just said I am your lover?" Cassie flashed Kara a cheeky grin.

"Obviously! Just...I ummm...AUGH!" Kara just kept on stuttering. Once again, great job Kara. Nice one...

"Do not get me wrong; I am fine with it, are you?" They had asked her, to which Kara only responded with an oblivious "Huh?"

"I mean I am good looking and you are beautiful too. We are both in here and people assumed us on a date. Which I am pretty much into what other people think of us" Cassie had stated very matter-of-factly, but also with a flirtatious hint to it.

"Well, you are a great person, with a nice personality, and you are very good-looking. With those eyes and soft looking hair..." She paused before ranting on, turning her head and covering her mouth.

"But if you are not feeling the same way, that is cool too. No pressure" They said, reassuring Kara and trying to make her comfortable. The dim lighting hit Cassie's green eyes making them sparkle like emeralds, which made Kara's blush still prominent.

"No no! I am actually very comfortable with you. I'd even call this a first date!" Dammit. Kara had been hoping to keep the whole "date" thing a secret between herself, but she seemed caught in the moment and blurted out her opinion.

Cassie had turned their head back from the couple they were looking at, and Kara wondered why they were even looking at the two.

When Cassie turned back, they took a sip of hot chocolate, and looked back at Kara, they had a smirk on their face, which Kara kinda resented, but liked at the same time.

"So what are you up to these days?" Cassie had asked Kara.

"Well, I got a cat earlier this year, her name is Moonshine, so I've been hanging out and taking care of her. Other than that, just school work and playing my violin. So, what are some things, or hobbies, you enjoy doing?" Kara said.

During the two conversing, the waiter returned and placed the Pumpkin Juice in the middle of the table without a word. It was placed so that both people could reach without much strain. And the waiter was right, in the large cup full of pumpkin juice, there laid two straws, one pointing at each chair, with Kara, and with Cassie.

After the green eyes said what the waiter assumed what Cash to Kara, Kara then become a stuttering mess. Cash smile behind their cup. They put down their cup and smile adoringly to Kara. To be honest Cash never imagine it will go like this. They clear their throat to steady their beating heart. Cash for the first time feeling nervous.

They rarely get nervous but the girl that sit across from them managed to do that. Yeah sure, for the past months they had been crushing on a couple of people before but it always do not work out the way the purple hair wanted. So when this occasion arise, Cash hoping all will going well.

After Cash asked if Kara fine with what the waiter think of them, Kara only responded with an oblivious tone. Cash was teasing Kara with their flirtatious tone. Truth to be told, they do not know where that bravery come from. All Cash know is they want this event smooth sailing and light-hearted for both the Beater and Kara.

The green eyes then picked up their cup again and took a sip of their hot chocolate that by now already lukewarm. Cash tried not to grimace at the taste. Not it was bad but Cash never that fond of chocolate. They rather drink it warm and still have a bit of steam on it than lukewarm.

Kara then spoke up, "Well, you are a great person, with a nice personality, and you are very good-looking. With those eyes and soft looking hair..."Kara paused after her short ranted. She turned her head and covering her mouth.

"You think I am good-looking and have a soft looking hair, huh?"They teased Kara again. Seriously Cash never think that they have a flirtatious trait in them. "You know when you stuttered a while back, I think it was cute"Cash told Kara without thinking first. When what they said dawned on them Cash become an awkward mess.

They fiddle with the handle of their hot chocolate cup. "I mean I uhh.."Cash tried to come up with a reason. Anything. They did not believe they said that. They hoping to keep a secret to themselves about Kara being cute but their brain worked in different way and blurted what they think of Kara.

Cash let out an awkward laugh, picked up the cup again and took few sips to hide their nervousness. When Cash mention what they doing is a date; Cash half joking about it, hoping Kara said otherwise. But when Kara confirmed it, what both the serpents are doing is a date for the second time Cash spilled the hot chocolate on them.

Good thing the brown liquid now cool enough so when they spilled in on their thigh cover jeans it did not hurt them like the previous. "Wait! it is?"Come a short awkward reply from the Beater. "When I said early on, I was just teasing you. Now after you said it, it is become so much real,"They told Kara.

"And it is definitely a good thing"The green eyes added. They did not want Kara misunderstood what they said. Cash then asked what Kara up to these day, their question worked wonder to their mind. Gone the thought of their mother's betrayal from their mind. Kara explained that she got a cat earlier this year.

She mentioned that her cat name is Moonshine. "Cute name"Cash responded. Kara also stated some school work and that she played violin. Then it was Kara turned to asked the green eyes. "I like cooking, baking, swimming, played basketball, singing, played guitar and piano"They mentioned.

"And obviously Quidditch"They made a gestured along their body at the sweater they wear. The waiter that had been writing down Kara's order earlier come back and bring a really huge glass of Pumpkin Juice and he was not joking when he said the Pumpkin Juice are served with two strays.

Cash then look at the straws and Kara alternately. "He was not joking when he said it served with two straws and holy! it is definitely big"Cash uttered the obvious. At some point Cash and Kara will reached the straws and drink it at the same time. The green eyes hoping when that time comes, they did not embarrassed themselves in front Kara.

They usually do something dumb and embarrassed themselves in the presence of their crush.

"You think I am good-looking and have a soft looking hair, huh?" Cassie used their flirtatious tone to once again make Kara flustered, but they of course succeeded. "You know when you stuttered a while back, I think it was cute...I mean I uhh.."

"Wait, you thought it was cute? Thanks, I guess." Kara rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, watching Cassie fiddle with their cup of hot chocolate.

But as the two kept talking, Kara of course let out her idea of this being both people's first date, and Cassie had once again spilled their hot chocolate on themselves out of either surprise or of disbelief.

"Oh my gosh are you ok?!?" Kara asked worryingly. Luckily, the hot chocolate wasn't that hot anymore, so Cassie was fine.

"Wait! it is? When I said early on, I was just teasing you. Now after you said it, it is become so much real, and it is definitely a good thing." Cassie said with a slight hint of shock in their voice.

"Well, I actually really like this, and I'd honestly be lying if I didn't say I really like you quite a bit, so yeah! I guess this is our first date." Kara ran a hand through her hair, letting out a shaky breath. She was so far trying to process all of it. This was the first date she'd ever been on ever! Kara was pretty excited, but also nervous.

Cassie decided to ask Kara a simple question about some common things she did. When she answered, Cassie had said that they liked the name Kara had given her new cat, Moonshine, which made her smile proudly. When the answer was then asked to Cassie by Kara, their answers were also pretty common.

"I like cooking, baking, swimming, played basketball, singing, play guitar and piano, and obviously Quidditch" Cassie gestured to the Slytherin Quidditch sweater that they were wearing.

"I hear Quidditch is a dangerous, but fun, game to play. You must be pretty good to land a spot on the team. You'd have to teach me how to play sometime." Kara said with a tone of admiration, as it actually was an impressive skill.

Kara's head was resting on her hands when the waiter arrived and placed the pumpkin juice down in front of the two newly found lovers; the waiter apparently was right about that one thing.

"He was not joking when he said it served with two straws and holy! it is definitely big" Cassie said, their eyes wide as the looked at it.

"Yeah, it is," Kara grabbed the drink and took a satisfying drink out of the blue straw, smiling contently as she was actually pretty thirsty after trudging through the snow to get here.

"Since it's meant for two people, you can have some too, just use the re straw, cause I'm using the blue one." Kara said placing the cup in the middle once again.

Kara wanted another drink again, so she leaned forward and to take a sip, but what she didn't know was that Cassie apparently had the same idea, so when they reached the straws, their foreheads bumped together, so Kara reeled back quickly.

"Sorry!" Kara said quickly.

After Cash mentioned that Kara was cute, the short brown haired girl rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly. That little gesture make the green eyes smile and looked at Kara adoringly. "Well, you are cute"They said with certainty in their voice. "And you're welcome"Cash responded after Kara said her gratitude.

Cash for the second time spilled their hot chocolate on their thigh covered jeans and make Kara worried. They let out a small chuckle. "Soy buena aqui"They stated with their Cuban accent. "I mean I am good here"They answered back. Assuring Kara that the brown liquid did not hurt them a bit.

Then Kara told the Beater that she likes the purple haired quite a bit and stated that it is both of the Serpents first date. "I quite fond of you too"They uttered. Cash smiled showing their perfect pearly teeth. "Well it is depend on the positions, though"Cash reply to what Kara said about Quidditch.

"I try but if you ever watched one match, I am not in Erin Ryan's level. That girl was a beast on the field"They informed Kara. Erin Ryan is the other Beater for Slytherin Qudditch team. "One day I might teach you how to play"They said. "But I need to have my own broom first. So far I rode what our school have"They continued.

"Maybe I will take you flying around the Quidditch pitch. You are not afraid of heights, do you? If you are then we can do something else that equally fun as flying"The green eyes give Kara other options. After a minute or so, Kara grabbed the drink and took a satisfying drink from the blue straw that sticked in the Pumpkin juice.

She looked pretty thirsty and Cash feel bad dragging Kara so far from the school. "You looked pretty thirsty"They mentioned the fact. "Sorry I dragged you all the way here"They gave Kara a small smile, feeling a bit guilty. Kara then informed Cash that the Beater can have some too. The green eyes then eying the red straw opposite of the blue straw that pointing at them.

When Cash about to take a sip from the red straw, Kara doing the same thing. Both of their foreheads collided at one another. Kara then reeled back quickly. "No harm done"They let out a laugh while rubbing their throbbing forehead. Cash give Kara a moment to took some of the drink and when she done, it is the green eyes turn.

They took some sips. The pumpkin juice are so much better than the hot chocolate. After the Beater done with their share of Pumpkin Juice, they leaned back into the wooden chair. "Hey,"Cash called out to Kara. "I know this is out of the blue and random, but have you made any plans for Christmas yet?"Inquired the green eyes.

Cash waited for Kara to answered their question. After Kara answered their question, Cash continued. "I got an owl a while back. In said owl some lad acclaiming he is my cousin. A very estrange cousin"They explained to Kara. "My mother never mentioned she had a brother let alone told me that I have a cousin"They added.

Cash sighed at the info. Cash mind drifted to what they saw earlier. Where they kind of see their mother with another man in this very establishment. Cash wondered what other lies that their mother kept from them.

"The things is we need to fly out to São Paulo, Brazil. It is where they lived according to the owl that I got. I was thinking maybe we fly there when the first day winter break roll in and we could meet at Heathrow Airport. A week we will stay there but if it too long for you, we can cut it short. You do not have to worry about the expanses, you in?"Cash questioned Kara.

"But of course we definitely need your parents approval first. Do I need to come to your house and seek their permission for you?"Cash asked Kara. Cash hoping Kara would say otherwise. Cash never in relationship before, let alone in the 'meet-the-parents' stage in the said relationship, so they do not know what to do in that particular situation.

"It is fine if your parents did not allowed you, I can fly to Brazil by myself"They told Kara then took another sip from their shared Pumpkin Juice then leaned back again against the wooden chair and waiting for Kara's answer.

When Kara had reeled back from the drink, Cassie had followed behind her, but they didn't seem annoyed like Kara thought they would.

"No harm done" They said while rubbing their forehead.

"Well, I'm still sorry about it." Kara said quite straightforwardly.

Cassie pushed the drink over to her, so instead to drinking together, the two would now just take sips one after the other. But when Cassie was finally full and finished, they pushed the drink towards Kara so she could finish it off.

"Hey," Cassie said leaning back into their chair "I know this is out of the blue and random, but have you made any plans for Christmas yet?"

"Well, not really, my family is still looking for a new home since we're moving." Kara wasn't planning on giving the whole story yet, but she still wasn't lying about the part where she and her family are moving.

"I got an owl a while back. In said owl some lad acclaiming he is my cousin. A very estrange cousin My mother never mentioned she had a brother let alone told me that I have a cousin" Cassie had said with a sigh at the end.

"Well, the more you know I guess. In my opinion, I think the more the merrier." Kara added to their statement about the newfound family member.

"The things is we need to fly out to São Paulo, Brazil. It is where they lived according to the owl that I got. I was thinking maybe we fly there when the first day winter break roll in and we could meet at Heathrow Airport. A week we will stay there but if it too long for you, we can cut it short. You do not have to worry about the expenses, you in?" Cassie asked.

"Sure! I've always wanted to go abroad to South America. I could get some really good photos! Oh, I forgot to mention, I quite like photography and I have a professional camera, so I could get some practice in!" Kara said, wrapping her jacket around her body more, as some people walked in and the cold wind hit her.

"But of course we definitely need your parents approval first. Do I need to come to your house and seek their permission for you?" Cassie asked her with her head quirked.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm sure they'll accept, but if you want to be sure, I believe I can send an owl from here in another room or even in Diagon Alley." Kara assured them.

"It is fine if your parents did not allowed you, I can fly to Brazil by myself" Cassie said, taking one final sip from the pumpkin juice.

"Well, flying with you by ourselves would be cool, but then again I think it'll be easier to fly on a plane, no offense to your skills, of course." Kara said, making sure to clear up the "no offence" part. Kara turned her head to the clock. It was around 5:30.

"Well, we best be going back to Hogwarts if we want to make it to dinner in the great hall. I hear that they are making steak, which I like. Also, hate to be like this, but can you pay. I'm broke." Kara said putting on her beanie to prepare going out in the cold once again. Once Cassie placed the money for the check down, Kara would offer her hand to hold.

"So, wanna go back with me?" Once Cassie accepted, together in hand, the two newfound lovers would return home hand in hand.

"It is okay. Just a throbbing head and a little headache but nothing major"Cash told the short brown hair that sat across from them. They shot a smile at Kara. They took another sip until it was half empty. The glass is huge and Cash wonder if someone ever finished the glass by themselves. Once they full, they pushed the drink towards Kara so she could finished it off.

After the green eyes asked Kara for her Christmas plan, she told the purple haired that she and her family looking for a new home since she moved from her old one. Cash want to asked Kara the reason for her moving but maybe it was not the right time, yet. The green eyes then told Kara about their newfound family member.

It seems Kara did not fazed by it. "True. I agree with you. The more the merrier but I do not like being lied to. Especially by my own family"They confided in Kara. "I wonder what other lies that my Mother kept from me"The Beater said to themselves but loud enough that Kara can hear it. After Cash invited Kara to their Christmas plan, Kara agree upon it.

She told the green eyes that she always wanted to go abroad. Mainly to South America. She also mentioned to Cash that she quite liked photography and she has a professional camera. Cash smile as Kara stated her hobby. Kara then wrapped her jacket around their body tighter as the gust of cold wind from outside of Leaky Cauldron hit her.

"You okay there?"Cash questioned Kara. Cash almost offered their jacket but not long after that the cold wind gone replaced by the warmth that Leaky Cauldron provided. Cash then eying their long abandoned hot chocolate that now already cold. The cup still filled the brown liquid though it is still half full.

Cash picked up their drink and force themselves to finished off the bleak taste of their hot chocolate. After they done with their bleak of hot chocolate, they leaned back against the wooden of the chair that they sat on. Cash was very glad that they did not have to seek Kara's parents permission for their upcoming Christmas break holiday plan.

"Just make sure they are okay with this and owl seems ideal"Cash nodded to what Kara had told them. The green eyes then took one final sip from the Pumpkin Juice left it half empty so Kara can finished the rest it off. The purple haired wondered if someone ever attempt to finished the big glass by themselves.

Their thought get broken when Kara addressing something to them. "Well, flying with you by ourselves would be cool, but then again I think it'll be easier to fly on a plane, no offense to your skills, of course"Kara told the Beater. It seems Kara misunderstood what Cash meant flying by themselves.

"None taken"The purple haired responded to Kara for the 'No offense' part of her saying. "That is what I thought"They started. "We will go there by plane. Though I love Flying and Quidditch, sitting for three hours straight on a shaft of a broom can be quite uncomfortable and well, tiring"They explained. Kara then turned her head, staring at the clock.

Cash followed suit. The clock showed it was already 5.30 pm. Time really do fly by fast when you having fun they though to themselves. Kara then told the green eyes if they want to go back to Hogwarts just in time for dinner, they best go back now. The short brown haired girl informed that they (Cash assumed it was the house elves) made some steak.

Kara claimed that she like steaks. Bit by bit Cash know trivial things about Kara. They made a mental note with this new info. Kara then preparing herself by putting her beanie back to her head to face the cold once again. "No worries. I got it"Cash said as they called out the server that served them earlier for the bill.

Once the bill arrived, Cash put down the correct amount that show on the bill and put some tips onto the medium size wooden tray. Then they put one their coat and gloves back on their hands. Cash looked down at Kara's open hand that she offered to Cash to be held. The Beater cleared their throat to lessen the blush that started to crept on their face.

Kara then enquired if both of them want to go back to Hogwarts together. "Yes!"Cash exclaimed. They realized they overly excited for a tad bit. "Sorry. I mean sure'They corrected themselves. They had the urged to face-palmed themselves for their earlier outburst. Once they made sure nothing was left behind, Cash intertwined their hand with Kara.

They exited the joint and walk back toward Hogwarts hand in hand.
