November 5th. Courtyard.

She still remembered the appointed meeting with that Slytherin. Well, they had a “fight”, and had probably insulted each other in the beginning of this school year, but today wasn’t a day to fight. Lindsey found herself getting more and more interested into this intelligent snake, since she suddenly realized that having a friend as intelligent as herself was quite nice. His name — Henry Knight — she had figured out the last name within last ten days — which was not a really bad one. Anyways, she wished to mind this relation, and probably improve and deepen it.

The badger ventured into the courtyard. Well, things were getting better over times…she was actually quite looking forward to it. She wished to get to know a completely new snake — the one she was not familiar with. Making friends was definitely a big part in Lindsey’s life, and now she’s changing an enemy into friend, which was a huge success.

She didn’t really know when he would come, so she brought a book with her. Dressing in her school robes, the badger chose a place to sit down and wait. Quietly she sat down, and opened her book. Time was passing, though she really hadn’t realized it. Reading was just so amazing.

While she read, Lindsey had decided, no matter what they was going to talk during this meeting, it was time to leave the past behind and kick a completely new relation off.

November 5th was arrived at Hogwarts along with a chill in the air that day. Henry was walking towards the courtyard that day instead of finding a spot in the library with friends or alone and hiding away by the large oak type tree on the edge of the great lake.

Henry was heading toward the courtyard to leave a old relationship behind and start a new one with the hufflepuff; Lindsey Springhall. The two didn't exactly get off on the right foot ever since their first year and even during second since academics usually got in the middle of them but after a certain flying class and her suggestion that they stuff together in the courtyard on the 5th, Henry agreed not just for a chance to study but also to have a do over almost with their first meeting.

Henry stepped into the courtyard and took a breath as he let the chilly air fill his lungs, he held onto the strap of his messager type bag before looking around the space for the hufflepuff. Something about it was odd since most of his friends and closest friends were either hufflepuff's or Ravenclaw's so it has always been odd to Henry to have someone he did particularly get along with in those houses. Probably why he was there in the courtyard, awaiting to stud with the girl.

After a few minutes, Henry would spot the girl sitting down and reading. He smiled a bit before approaching the fellow second year and as he pointed at her book, Henry spoke " what is the book your reading?" He then quickly added after he ran a hand through his hair, " uh hey, Lindsey? Mind if I sit?"

Times was passing quick. Very quick. Hogwarts afternoons were always cozy and fun, no matter what season it was. Although she preferred to stay indoors and do some intellectual work, an afternoon of Quidditch or reading outdoors were no way to object. Especially when the weather was so fine like today.

She wasn’t really alarm when the boy approached. In fact, she knew nothing about his entrance to the courtyard until he started speaking. “Oh, hello Henry,” slowly closing her book, she raised up her head and smiled at him. “afternoon.” It actually seemed like a good start. And Lindsey found him no longer that bothersome.

“Great Expectations. Muggle novel.” she announced her book’s name, and attempted to stand up to reach the height of him. That’s a way of being polite, as she was always taught by her parents. Though at that point he offered to sit down, so Lindsey just gave him a small nod. “Do take a seat.”

“So,” she said, after the boy had sat down. “How have you been?” if Henry had replied, she would carry on. “I’m thinking, maybe we could set up a game rule — a game, yes — let’s pretend that we have never met each other before. We should know each other better, as if we have never met. Actually, it seemed so.”

The game might be a little bit stupid, though Lindsey somehow believed it as useful. Yeah, she had never met one named Henry. At least she had never met a real Henry. Whom she had met and had interactions with was only a side of him. And maybe it was the time to mend. To mend everything, including memories.

Lazily she leaned back to reach an old oak tree behind her. But suddenly she sat straight up again. “You in?” she asked, smiling. “So I’m starting…” she whispered, and then stretched out her right hand to the boy. “Hey! It is such a pleasure to meet you. I’m Lindsey. Lindsey Springhall, to be exact. How about you?”

Hopefully this would work. Hopefully.

Henry smiled a bit and gave a bit of a wave toward Lindsey when she gave what he thought was a rather formal greeting. Despite his father sticking to formalities like that and trying hard to teach his children those types of things, Henry learned them or picked them up at least but rarely ever used them himself especially at Hogwarts and especially with friends or soon to be friends that way so he just gave her a small wave and smile.

Upon hearing the name of her book he was sort of surprised that he had read it to. While he was a pureblood, he still loved books and had a rather large but not impressive collection of them however he remembered reading the novel back in liverpool in a small local library that was ran by a rather kind a bit older muggle man whom Henry took a liking to at least before Hogwarts when he had time to go but now Henry just found himself missing that place since he haven't gone back in probably a year because of Hogwarts.

" Great expectations? Bloody hell I read that novel before to, I really enjoy it also. Do you like it then?" Henry asked but then took a step back in surprise when she stood up and invited him to sit as well in which Henry gripped his messager type bag a bit before saying " yeah, okay. Thanks then," nodding a bit before taking a seat besides Lindsey before taking off his messager type bag and setting it besides him as well.

" uh. Fine I guess and you? How have you been?" Henry basically sputtered out at her question since he was a bit taken back allowing him to fiddle with the ends of his jacket a bit to ease his nervous and anxiety when he heard a suggest for a game; one that they meet again basically.

While it might have sounded a bit stupid, Henry smiled at her with a nod and loved the idea since they did start off on the wrong foot and really didn't know each other but now will gave a chance to know each other the right way and gain a new friend as he spoke " wicked idea, yeah I'm in mate."

Henry nodded to her when she said she was starting and made a mental note to erased on passed memories with Lindsey as she said they were starting new. He nodded to her before holding out his own hand and shaking her as he spoke " nice to meet you Lindsey, I'm Henry Knight."

Okayyyyy…so that’s nice. He was actually in. She had always tried to look for the best in others, and it was quite intriguing that she had failed when looking at Henry Knight. Maybe she didn’t find the right way, or maybe she’d always look at him with a critical eye. So maybe it was the time to change.

She slightly chuckled when he introduced himself. Indeed, the game sounded dumb, huh? But surely it might make a difference. Even a minor one could help. She just needed to get to know him. This boy was apparently intriguing, and of course, he was worth digging into. When she said “digging”, Lindsey meant looking down into the bottom of his heart. Clearly it wasn’t easy, but maybe eventually she’d make it — at least she could get a different view of him.

“Second year, is it?” chuckling a bit she asked. “I fancy I’ve seen you in classes. You know, like Charms. And maybe even in the hallways as well. I’m a second year.” slightly chuckling again, she gently put her book down on the grass besides. Hogwarts afternoons…how cozy. “Speaking of classes…any favorite ones? Or any classes for third years you are terribly interested in? I bet everyone has one. Or at least one, you know.”

Chocolate brown eyes fixed on the shiny lake yonder. Why, it seemed just so gorgeous…and right in the lake there lied the giant squid, which she was so interested in during her first year. Well, she hadn’t really seen the squid till now, but maybe the passion of young eleven year olds had quietly disappeared through the years. She was growing up. And maybe she wasn’t a child anymore. However the result was she had slowly lost her passion on such things and started to regard chasing after the squid as stupid no matter what the reason was. Which was rather a sad thing, huh?

Eyes slowly wandered back and casted down to the grass. Everything seemed well…or quite, at least.

Alright so the boy who based things on facts and relied on books was okay with doing this 'game' even through there were timed that he found it kind of odd or strange. Although he found it good to see Lindsey Springhall in a new light, to step away from their constant competition and banter and just have a normal and rather friendly conversation more or less.

He took care to eye her books, each title and cover since he found depending what a person read and how well they treated there books was a good way to tell what type of person they were. Henry took two books out from his messager type bag and laid them next to him quite gently; one was fantastic beats and where to find them which the book was a handy be down and the cover was a bit worn but overall in good condition not to mention his favorite book probably ever. The second was a advanced charms book again handy me down and the cover was a bit worn but overall pretty good condition, his best subject was charms in fact he taught himself a few advanced charms which was why he brought those two books out to further show Lindsey who he really was.

"You a second year to?" Henry asked and tried for a bit of a dramatic look hoping to get a laugh from her before continuing more normally " I think I saw you in flying once or twice. And perhaps the halls like you mentioned," their conversation with the 'game' then turned to favorite classes having the boy thunk for a moment before say "my favorite classes are; charms, astronomy, and potions. Uh what about you Lindsey?"

Before letting her speak, after however he would add " the third year ones that interest me or that I want to take are; ancient ruins, care of magical creatures, arithmacy, muggle studies, and even divination. I'm trying to see of there is a way I could take all of them but anyway what about you.
What third year classes are you interested in?"
