The Purrfect Pet
"What's that?" Starr's mum asked, as they walked through Diagon Alley. Starr, her mum and her brother, Craig, had just entered the magical streets of the Alley. "Could I get a cat?" Starr asked. Her mum chuckled, and nodded. "Alright, lets go to Magical Menagerie and see what they have. Craig, are you coming?" Their mum asked. Craig looked at her and smiled. "Nah, Imma head over to Quality Quidditch Supplies. See ya in a bit. Hope you get the cat you want, sis." He said, as he left for his favourite shop.
As they entered the shop, meows, hoots, ribbits and all sorts of animal sounds were heard. Starr's eyes widened in awe, and she instantly spotted the cats. She was a cat and dog lover through and through. Kneeling down, she looked over at all the purebreds and mixed breeds. They were all just too cute and she felt like she was spoilt for choice. "I can't pick." Starr said. "Let the cat choose you." Her mum advised. Starr nodded.
As she looked through the cats, one placed a paw on its cage, wanting her to pick it up. She opened the crate and the cat jumped onto her lap. "Hello cutie." Starr smiled, as the cat purred and rubbed its head against her face. She giggled and the cat purred even louder. "Alright, alright I'll adopt you." She chuckled.
"An Egyptian Mau? Such a loving and gentle cat." Her mum said, smiling down at her daughter. The cat rested in Starr's arms, happy and content to have found a loving companion. "Let's get you then, cutie." Starr cooed at the the wide eyed cat, who's beautiful orbs were looking into her own full of love and care.
"Mum I'll have to get some cat food and treats." Starr said. "Don't worry, duck, I'll cover the cost of food and accessories." Her mum smiled. They looked at the collars, and brushes. Starr chose a black, glittery collar with a heart shaped tag. They picked out both dry and wet food so there was a variety for the young feline. A round, purple bed was picked out as well as a teddy bear for cuddling when Starr was in classes.
After everything was collected, her mother using a levitation charm to carry some of the items, they made their way to the till. "I'll buy this, don't forget." Her mum smiled. Starr nodded and placed the cat on the counter to buy it.
