☾ Letters from home ☾ Solo

The hours of sunlight seemed to be getting shorter and shorter with every passing sunrise and sunset. Everything seemed to be starting to turn grey and white, the first signs of winter in the Scottish mountains. Jo took a shaky breath, she was freezing, she had now resorted to using her winter coat. Jo didn't like the cold at all, and the coat seemed to warm her up so much. The hooting of the owls at breakfast made Jo gaze at the magical ceiling, from which owls kept down, handing parcels from home, letters, sweets from parents. Jo looked for a Black owl, she had sent a letter to her parents. She felt ashamed for now visiting them this summer and she just wanted to check-in. The owl dropped the letter on Jo's lap, she is about half an hour, was standing on the bridge opening the letter with her shaken hands.
Dear Jo,

Thanks for writing! I understand why you couldn’t come home this summer. Things Happen, but at least you didn't miss out on your friends. Hope everything is going well for you.

Lots of love,
-Mum
Jo read the paper over and over again, the Paper was thin and soaked because of the rain it had passed during its journey. Her mum wasn't as mad at her, but she seemed annoyed enough to only write a short letter wasting paper.
