New Beginnings
Elzabeth nervously carried her things behind her, waving at her father from the train window. It was a miracle she had even gotten the chance to come back after her last year at Hogwarts, especially after the shenanigans she had gotten herself into.
From a group of ragtag friends that created their own order to having her head busted open after confronting a girl in the hallway, her already apprehensive mother pulled her out of Hogwarts and continued to teach her from home.
It was hell for Elzabeth, she wanted more than anything to reach out to her friends and tell them she was sorry for leaving on such short notice without even a word but her mom wouldn't allow it. Until Elzabeths mother felt her lesson had been learned she had no contact with the wizarding world.
If it weren't for her father she wouldn't have come back, but he managed to convince her mom and made Elzabeth promise she would write nearly every day to make sure she would stay out of problems.
The train lurched and Elzabeth tore her eyes away from her dad, walking down the long hallway to try and find an empty seat. Other kids were already laughing with their friends, catching up on summer activities, and joking around with each other. Elzabeth started to wonder if she would ever find her friends again or if she truly was going to have to start over.
"One day at a time." Her father would say. Eventually, she will find her place at school, for now, she just needed to find a place on this train.
Elzabeth squeezed through the sliding door of one compartment, throwing her things on the empty seat with a huff, failing to realize she wasn't the only one in there. It wasn't until she turned around to sit when she realized another person was looking back at her.
"Oh! I'm sorry." Elzabeth felt heat crawl up her neck. "I can leave." The last thing she wanted to do was be a bother.

New Beginnings
The girl had looked up, hearing the compartment door open. A girl had come in, not noticing her. "Oh, you can stay here if you want.. My cousins kinda ditched me." She would smile sadly, obviously feeling a bit sad. Her cousins, who had left her, were older students and didn't want to be seen with a first year. (More than likely, she had no idea where they were.) Haylie would smile again, this one not quite reaching her eyes. "I'm Haylie, It'll be my first year." She said, not making eye contact. Instead, she was looking out the window. Her face reflected on the glass, her blue eyes showing sorrow, and nerves. Her eyes were a bit puffy, as she had cried earlier. ("You can't follow us." Her cousin said.) She would take a tiny rat from her pocket, it squeaking in surprise. "At least Mint didn't make me cry." She muttered to herself, her brows furrowing.
Edit: OOC: I'm super sorry for the short reply I'm like- Super tired ;;
"You are unique, don't be something someone wants' you to be; Be yourself."

@Haylie GreyElzabeth eyed the pet in the girl's hand with surprise, it still amazed her the type of magical animals she would find roaming Hogwarts halls.
"If you're sure." Elzabeth took a seat, careful to not bump the stranger with her legs. She may be short for her age but she still managed to be clumsy enough to kick people any time she took public transit. Elzabeth awkwardly shifted her things over, tucking her hair behind her ears out of nervous habit.
A moment of silence passed between them, the rat squeaking. "If you don't mind me asking, what's its name?" Elzabeth asked, hoping to make friendly conversation. If she had to choose a pet she would much rather have a cat but her mother barely trusted her enough to take care of a fish and her father was allergic.
She assumed the only way she would get her own cat would be by sneaking it past her mother or leaving the house completely. That was something her old group of friends would have helped her do but she wasn't sure they were an option anymore. Elzabeth eyed the girl, a smile plastered on her face while she waited for her response.

New Beginnings
"Oh! His name is Sylvester." She said, a gummy smile plastered on her small and chubby face. "My parents hate rats, so I went and bought one with my own money just to spite them." She said while playing with the long pink tail of the brown rat, making it squeak in surprise, causing her to do an airy giggle. Sylvester was her first and only friend. Of course, she was friends with the two dogs she had back home, but she had more of a connection with the tiny rat. Maybe it was because of the revelry and the feeling of adrenaline she felt when she got him? She wouldn't know, but she knew the rat was her friend, and to the eleven year old, that was just enough of a reason to her.
It wasn't common for her to be talking to someone, an actual person.. Strange, Unusual. Those thoughts flooded her young and innocent mind. Usually, her shyness would overthrow her social needs, making her scared to talk to people. Her social anxiety didn't help, either. But, the girl in front of her seemed.. Different. She had a aura to her that relaxed the girl, made her want to come out of her tight shell.
"My name is Haylie." she said, mentally facepalming. Why did she say it out of nowhere? The girl was going to think she was weird. She would bite her lower lip, trying to stop herself. She was biting her lip so hard that blood started to slowly trickle down her lip, and onto her chin. She hadn't noticed until she felt the blood trying to drip off her chin, to which she promptly wiped away. Embarrassed, she would hide her face back into the book she was reading before the girl came into the compartment. Aggressively flipping the pages to find her spot, the fluttering of the pages kissed her ears. 'God' she thought. 'Such a nice sound.'
//Late response, sorry
