Chapter One
Bang! Something was there that woke me up. I was up on the bed with a sweat across my brow. I didn't know what it was or why I was awoken. But I knew this that it wasn't the first time I was awoken by something in the middle of the night or in middle of my nap or sleep. There had been occurrences that I couldn't explain. A sigh escaped my mouth as I saw Tika sleeping next to me. I was glad to have her around. In the distance, I could hear another heart-beating. I knew it was my daughter's. A smile crept on my face as I laid down to sleep again.
