Oh, Hello There
Katie softly hummed to herself as she entered the courtyard. Even though it had been a while since school started, Katie had yet to explore the courtyard. She thought it was pretty, even if it was starting to get frosty. Crossings was expected seeing as it was almost November, and then it'd be December and, yeah.
Katie looked around and didn't see many prior. Figures, as it was early in the morning, and while the sun was out, the majority of people were getting ready for breakfast or something. Kati liked spending the cool, early morning outside in fresh air though. It was a comfort to get and Katie found it quite relaxing.
Katie rubbed away the last bird of sleepiness in her eyes and cracked her back and neck to stretch out and loosen up. Katie looked down at her hands and fingers. She'd crack them in class when she bedded to write, whether it be for notes, an assignment, an essay, or whatnot.
Katie went and sat down on a small spot of grass that was cold but dry. She opened up her book on Charms and continued reading in the hopes for better, more thorough, more successful comprehension of the content they had learned last class.

Oh, Hello There
Kara was sitting outside in courtyard, cool air making her breath slightly visible. She remembered that this outfit used to have a hat, but she didn't really like it, so it was laying in her dorm room. A necklace hung around her neck, and she started to twiddle it in her fingers, but she went a little to far, so she started to untangle it from her hands.
She was sitting on the edge of one of the walls around the courtyard, watching as the Great Lake peacefully lapped it's waves onto the shore. She knew of the dangers in there, but it was so pretty, so captivating. It seemed that the things with such beauty and grace were always the ones with danger and pain underneath.
She let out a sigh, letting go of her reminiscing, and stuck her head out of the clouds and back into reality. She looked around, a few other people were there, and of course a couple kissing, which made her laugh lightly, a small smile forming on her lips.
As she kept gazing around, she noticed someone sitting on the grass. She had recognized the girl as a Slytherin first year. The girl looked like she was working on homework, so Kara decided to offer help.
She hopped off the wall and put her hands in her pockets. She walked over to the girl then sat down beside her.
"Hey there kid, I happened to notice that you're working on Charms work. I can help out if you want. The name's Kara Capricorn." She said with a small, thin lipped, smile.

Hex Code: #FF8000Katie looked up at the girl who had introduced herself as Kara. Kara write a distinct, pretty necklace with a K carved into one medallion, and a heart carved into the other. Katie assumed the K stood for Kara. Katie was instantly relieved when Kara offered her hello on her Charms work. Katie had been struggling with charms for a while now, and hadn't yet been successful.
I'd love some help on Charms Katie said brightly, Thank you! she added, remembering to be polite. Katie smiled brightly eyes excited in anticipation for the hope of finally making some progress on casting. Katie had already successfully cast spells in classes like herbology, so she was truly lost as to why the dancing feet spell wouldn't work for her.
Katie realized she hadn't introduced herself yet, which probably wasn't very kind considering that it had been the first thing that Kara had done. I'm Katie by the way, she said, Katie Palsorette, but just call me Katie. she added for clarification. In the past, some of her pets had called her Miss Palsorette. While Katie had been too polite to ask them not to call her that, Katie always tried to distance herself from her family name. Katie had used to wear out with such purpose, that was until sure had found out that her parents were wrong about penis supremacy and were just plain narrow minded bigots. There was nothing noble about that.
Realizing that Kara would probably need more than just the information that Katie needed help in charms, Katie added I've been struggling with casting the dancing feet spell in particular. It felt like everyone else got it right away, but here I am, unsuccessful as ever.
It had been exceptionally discouraging when her charms professor had told her class was over, and to practice and come back prepared to cast it next class. I have been successful in Professor Boniface's class when he taught us a few spells relating to Herbology, so I don't know why I've been so unsuccessful at Charms. Katie added despondently. Do you think you can help me? Katie asked, hopefully looking at Kara.
