The One and Only
Lillie and her father walked into the Menagerie shop. Once the bell jingled above them, a tall older man with grey hair, looked over at them and smiled. His wire framed glasses slid down some when he smiled and as he walked over, he pushed them up and his belly bounced slightly.
"Hello! my name is Ernest Witticker! How can I help you today?" He smiled and looked between Lillie and her father. Lillie felt her father touch her shoulder gently.
"We're here for Lillie's first pet. What would you recommend? If I let her choose, we would be here until you close for the day." Her father smiled and let out a soft chuckle.
Mr. Witticker laughed. "Don't worry! I have a few recommendations but..." He looked at Lillie and she looked back a little nervous. "What would you prefer Lillie? Would you like a fluffy cat? Maybe a jumping toad? Maybe a spider that can tickle you a bit?" He noted her bad reaction to the spider one and continued "What about a feathery friend?" Lillie's eyes twinkled some when he brought up birds.
"I would prefer an owl sir." She smiled and Mr. Witticker smiled and nodded guiding both of them to their owl selection.
"We have Indian Eagles, Snowy Owls, Tawny's, Artic Owls, Barred Owl's, Great White Owl's, Eastern Screech Owl's, Great Horned Owl's and Morepork Owl's" As he spoke, he pointed to each owl to show her what they looked like. Each one she looked at he would tell them their personality and age. She pointed to a snowy owl.
"That one's named Jenny. She's a bit aggressive when she's being fed. She's two years old." Lillie shook her head at that and went to the next one. It was a Great Horned Owl.
" Ahhhh now this one's named Henry. He's sweet but he's a bit of an airhead quiet literally. When he goes in the air it's a chore to get him down." He chuckled a little at his joke. Lillie let out a little laugh at his joke.
"He sound's like a good one but maybe not for me." Her eyes wandered to a small bird grooming its feathers on its wing. She shuffled over to it and smiled excited. It looked at her curiously when it realized she was there. Mr. Witticker smiled seeing this.
"Ahhhh our rare bird. Bo is a Morepork owl and he's a year old. He likes to sleep but he's usually not grumpy. He's a very gentle owl. As you can tell he loves to keep his appearance nice." Lillie smiled and looked at her father and Mr. Witticker.
"This is the one. He's perfect." She's smiling and looks back at him as he made a soft hoot. Mr. Witticker smiled and Lillie's father nodded.
"I'll go pay for him while she gets to know him." He left quickly smiling for the cash register. He was happy it didn't take all day.
"Hello Bo. I can't wait for mother to meet you." She smiled and acted like she wanted to hold him.
"You may hold him while I fetch the supplies for you." He opened the cage and gently took him out handing the small bird to Lillie. Her eyes sparkled and gently touched Bo. Once she touched the back of his head, he fluttered up in the air before landing gently on her shoulder. Her smile grew and let him sit there. She walked around and Bo stayed right there. Mr. Witticker and Mrs. Witticker smiled at the sight and processed everything. Once everything was done, Lillie gently put him back in the cage and they headed home smiling.

Miss Taggart,
Your application is on hold for the moment. It seems you do not have the required 17 galleons to purchase this pet for now. Please send me an owl once you have acquired enough funds to purchase your new friend.
