Secrets No More
Everyone has some kind of secret. Maybe they took something they weren't supposed to take or perhaps they have feelings for someone but don't tell anyone. It's a normal part of life to keep some things hidden from other people, but the secrets themselves are not always normal. Maybe someone has an evil family or they could have cast a bad spell and they don't want anyone to know. But Wren has a special case. Most people can say they are "normal", but being a Parselmouth, she can't. When most people think of Parselmouths, they think danger or evil. After all, it was rumored that Salazar Slytherin and even Lord Voldemort carried the ability. Of course, Wren knows that not all Parselmouths are dangerous and she's been dealing with this suspicion her whole life. So far she had done good about keeping her ability hidden from the students of Hogwarts, but it had been harder lately. After almost speaking out in Parseltongue in her Defense Against the Dark Arts class, she was a little nervous about being around people.
Deciding to go up to the Gryffindor common room, she began working her way up the stairs. Oh great. She thought, noticing the group of students in front of her. Almost all of them were from her class, and at the moment she wasn't in the right mind to interact with them. She quickly stepped off the stairs, which she hated after her first time on them, and into the corridors on the second floor. I guess I can stay here. Maybe study or do homework for a little bit. Spotting a small bench pressed against the wall, she walked down the chilly hallway and placed her books upon the wooden bench. Wren let out a sigh as she sat down. Looking out the window, she opened her bag to pull out a quill and some paper. I might as well get started on my homework. The scratchy sound of quill on parchment soon echoed through the hall as she answered the first questions of her assignment.
