OOC: Let me know if anything needs to be changed!September 3rd, 2020
Around noon
Classes hadn't actually started quite yet, and for that Lea was happy. She didn't want to have to deal with people truly believing in this magic thing. There was only so long that the girl could stand listening to someone ramble about the school being great or magic before she would lose it. There was the hope, of course, that the library would be different. Books had always interested her and it allowed her to go to another place far away. Most of her books did talk about magic, but they were all fiction. Real life magic didn't exist.
So, after lunch, the brown-haired girl would wander towards the rows of bookshelves, clutching a book of her own tightly to her chest. A notebook, rather, but it didn't seem to hold nearly as much importance than the rows of books that the brown eyes would gaze at. So many to choose from and yet- they all seemed to share the same message. Some would talk of how to do well in these 'classes', while others talked of history or spells.
"What is this?" The first year would hiss, unaware of any students that might be nearby. The girl would quickly duck down to set her notebook on the floor by her feet, glancing back up to choose one of the books at random. She didn't bother reading the title, flipping to a random page. Brown eyes were quick to scan the contents of the page.
"Wh- no. It's just a... chemical reaction." Just like Platform 9 3/4s was just a light illusion. She didn't actually know that much about science, but the girl knew enough to add her own reasoning to these encounters with 'magic'.
"How can they actually believe it's magic?"

The newly sorted Ravenclaw looked around the library. There were hundreds of books on tall shelves everywhere. Melissa wandered around the library, astonished by all the books dating back at least about a hundred years or so. Well, I guess I found my place at Hogwarts... Melissa thought. Her own library at home seemed like it belonged to a not so much of a book lover compared to the Hogwarts library. Actually, this is a school though which means they have to have a lot of books...
Still wandering around and looking for interesting books, the ginger saw a brown-haired girl also looking at the books although she seemed to be muttering something to herself. Beside her, there was a book on the floor. Was it-? No, it wasn't a normal book, instead, it was a notebook. That must belong to her, right? Mel wondered. Trying to do a good deed, she went over and picked up the notebook. As she was about to give it to the girl, she heard her say something about not believing magic. "Um...so uh I think this belongs to you..." she said, handing the notebook. Then, she added, "Why don't you believe in magic?"@Lea Hirsch Ahhh so sorry for the late reply-

No worries! I'll try and reply to the other soonShe tensed at the sound of someone else's voice, feeling as though part of her was about to shut down simply from talking to another human being. This didn't seem usual, the thought wanting a reasonable explanation now, but it would have to wait. Her head bobbed quickly, reaching out to take the book with some hesitation. "Ye-yeah, it's mine."
The second question, the more challenging one, came after. So this student believed in magic like everyone else here, unless they just wanted an explanation for shared beliefs? At home, with her friends, this would've been easy, no hesitation and lots of chattering. But it was different now, in an environment Lea didn't recognize and a person she didn't know.
"Be- because isn't of ap-applying logic to it, they-they just says it-it's magic. Th-there's no... no... explanation in that- plus, uh, it-it could just be done with il-illusions and technology 'n stuff..." Her voice would taper off at the end, more hushed than it already had been, brown eyes offering quick glances at the student before her. The girl paused, collecting her thoughts once more. "And-and why can't my friends do magic if I can? My parents aren't wizards or whatever, it doesn't make sense." All this way to go to a school teaching nothing and her parents seemed to believe this magic stuff. And yet, they had been so against her saying anything to her friends! It just didn't make sense in the young girl's mind, a transition- of schools, of knowledge- that she would fight against.
