Bold and Brash  Artober 2020
"If I'm lucky, Mr. Talent will rub his tentacles on my art."

College student here. Pencil and paper are rare commodities in my possession, my focus on MedTech and everything in school being computerized these days. Late night shower thoughts convinced me to partake in (my very first ever!) Artober/Inktober, so I decided to explore the digital route and fiddle with an art software program Paint.net that came pre-installed on my computer (cuz it's free, duh).

F.A.Q.
Omg ur such an amazing artist, can I use these images?

Yup. No need to ask. Just credit my name somewhere, anywhere. Tag my name as credit if you want and I'll know where you've used it, I'd appreciate the poke. Free to use ONLY on Hogwarts.io. (please don't post them on any other site). :)

Potion Bottles
REFERENCES: None. All me.
COMMENTARY: Took the "Bold and Brash" to heart and went vibrant/abstract-ish with this one. Nice kickstarter.

Hogwarts Express

REFERENCES: Hogwarts Express pics. Spotted that "H" design somewhere and simplified it.
COMMENTARY: First time experimenting with the motion blurs. I look back on it and think "Wow, I actually did that?!?" Very pleased.

A Messenger Owl
REFERENCES: Cartoon owl pics
COMMENTARY: A late night owl messenger. I like the contrast of the dark night sky and bright moon against the owl. Stars gives a bit more "magical" feel to it. The bricks and "bubbles" poking out around the window make a nice cutesy border. Can't say no to those big yellow eyes. :cute:

Wizarding Robes
REFERENCES: None. All me.
COMMENTARY: Struggled for inspiration. Turned to my RL sister for ideas. She came up with all the "black" names and the rest of the design clicked together. Simple concept, but satisfactory.

Brewing a Potion
REFERENCES: None. All me.
COMMENTARY: Mmmm… Cheese sauce... I realize afterward (with jalapenos and red peppers on the side - must be nachos  ). Really, I was just aiming for contrast (blue cauldron, purple ladle, yellow liquid, green and red stuff-ingredients). Went with a fire effect-shading to give the impression of a heat source. It all started with a circle for the cauldron that made me roll with this overhead angled perspective. Learned a lot about glassware, though I was too stubborn to look up ref pics and instead suffered through my own trial and error.

Starry Night
REFERENCES: Pics of the Cassiopeia constellation. Configured the star placement as best I could without tracing.
COMMENTARY: Meh, more stars. Decided to switch things up with a looking-up-at-the-sky perspective (if thou could tell).

COMMENTARY: Went back to those curl designs in Prompt 1. Little sparkle-glow because... sparkle.[/quote]

The Great Hall
REFERENCES: Great Hall pics
COMMENTARY: Less is more, simple is better. Candles and table runners drive the prompt across. Another overhead angled perspective.

Broom
REFERENCES: Racing broom pics for inspiration
COMMENTARY: Went very simple, no shading at all. Didn't feel motivated to spend time on this one. Not like Andrew's into broom racing/Quidditch anyways...
