The Autumn Ball | Finding A Date
Interacting with @Phineas Avery[/right]The Autumn Ball was nearing, and had been the gossip ever since Lily had arrived. And she needed a date, soon. She soon learned having friends was a great thing, and enjoyed being in their company. But no friend could go to the Autumn Ball with her, and she didn't want to be a loner, like she had been her entire life. Lily knew no boys yet, but had been eyeing up the courage to ask some for a while now. She couldn't do it. She just couldn't. She wasn't brave and she wasn't particularly smart. But she knew she had to do this.
"Um... hi..." she walked up to one of them, "I've seen you around..."
she was stumbling now, and couldn't get the words out. "And I was wondering..." she was nervous now, what if he didn't like her? What if he hadn't seen her? What if he hated her like everyone apart from her family back home? What if... What if... What if...
"Yes?" the boy asked, "You were wondering,"
"I was wondering if..." she was terrified now, it took all her courage not to go run back up to her dormitory and cry. "If you wanted to go to the Autumn Ball with me?" A single tear rolled down her cheek and he looked her in the eye and told her his answer.Banner by Lucia Fox

The Autumn Ball | Finding A Date
Phineas was talking to one of his class mates in the small hall, when someone made their way in their direction. He didn't spare them a glance until they were standing right next to him. He turned to look who it was and came face to face with a girl which he had seen in some of his classes, but never talked to. She started blabbering about having seen him around, to which Phineas just raised one of his eyebrows - a habit he had picked up from his father and made him look quite arrogant, really.
«And I was wondering..», she said before the words apparently left her and she looked like a fish out of water. «You were wondering?», Phineas iterated mercilessly, enjoying the little power play. She repeated the words one more time before she finally uttered: «If you wanted to go to the Autumn Ball with me?» The girl looked miserable now, a small tear spilling over her rosy cheek.
Phineas almost felt pity for his fellow first year. Well, almost. But comforting crying girls really wasn't a forte of the eleven year old boy. According to his pureblood standards, the girl had failed practically every aspect of courting. Had she not learned how one properly introduced oneself or signalled that one was available for a proposition?
However, the young heir didn't find it in his heart to mock the forlorn looking girl, nor was that something his mother would have appreciated. He rolled his eyes and took his monogrammed handkerchief out of his dress pants and offered it to her. «Here», he grumbled, «make yourself look presentable».

Please tell Lily you name, it's annoying when I have to say 'him' or 'the boy' all the time.Lily speaking in English

Interacting with @Phineas Avery"Thank you." she said to him, taking the handkerchief. "I'm Lily Rowenna Cawthi, by the way. What's your name? Lily saw him roll his eyes at her, and pretended not to notice. He obviously expected her to do that straight away. Oh well.
Since they were in the small hall, lots of other students were walking past. There were a few rounds of 'Watch it, mudblood!' from the Slytherins, and some were saying 'Move it!'. Lily didn't mind though, she was used to it by now. She saw the red-haired Slytherin girl, whose name she did not yet know, snigger as she and her friends strolled past. Lily drove her foot around, trying to trip her up, and failed miserably.
She wiped her tears away now, and handed the handkerchief back to him. He took it and put it away. The small hall was almost empty now, with most people in the Great Hall. Lily didn't know what to say next, and it seemed neither did he. Lily really wanted to go somewhere quite and read. "I'm going to the library later, do you want to meet me there after lunch?" she asked him. Lily had a good feeling about this.Banner by Lucia Fox
