Skipping? PV Aurelia Bezuidenhout Closed

Aurelia raised her hand for the third time. She knew that answer to the question. It was her zodiac sign, how could she forget? The teacher called on her.

"Yes, Miss Bezuidenhout?"

"The first constilation is Virgo, the second, Pisces." She answered while pointing to the map of stars. The question were easy to her. She was surprised how she learnt with such a fast pace. She jotted down almost everything the teacher said onto her note book. The professor explained so fast and her hand moved with the speed.

Aurelia aimed for at least an A for all the subjects. However, even with As written on most of her test papers and assignments, Aurelia was only contented when she got an O. Even though this was only her first year, she needed to graduate and get a good job. How was she going to do that if she was getting only As and Bs all the time? She immediately directed her attention back in the chalk board when she realised she wasn't doing so.

After a few minutes, the teacher had somehow excused herself and exited the classroom. Aurelia didn't ask why. She patiently waited for her return.

Ps-psst! Hey, come with me

The girl besides nudge her with an elbow. Aurelia raised an eyebrow. Aurelia didn't know the girl's name. The teacher hadn't said her name in the entire dreadful 2 hour period of astronomy.
"Where to?" asked Aurelia.
The girl didn't answer, she just grabbed her hand and walked towards the door. Just after she crossed the door's threshold, the girl gained speed and walked faster, almost sprinting. She dragged Aurelia along.
"Wait... wait... Professor Brydge might be returning anytime soon!" Aurelia yelped. She attempted to yank her hand free but the girl's grip was too tight around her wrist. So she had no choice but to follow. They sprinted down the corridor, and down some stairs. They were moving at such a fast pace that Aurelia almost tripped down the steps. The girl dragged her for a few more second she before darting in to a room and closed the door.

That was an adventure, wasn't it?

The girl said panting.

"Where are we and why exactly had you abducted me from the Astronomy class?" She asked, catching her breath. She looked around. The place was foriegn she hasn't been too this location yet.

Ava started rolling on the floor from laughter. "I-I am so sorry!" she was almost dead from laughter. After she stopped panting and literally dying on the floor, she replied. "I did not abduct, you! You were just the closest person. And I was bored." she said. "This, my friend, is the Dueling Club. And I brought you - again, not abduct - here because... I wanted to do something more productive than writing constellations down," she said, walking up to the corners of the room. 

"Practicing some spells. Now if you may..." the girl took some books. Almost like out of nowhere - but in fact, she found a small hole in the wall behind some weird pedestal or whatever you'd call it. She ran back to the girl and gave her the book, pointing at one of the spells. "Expelliarmus. See? I need to learn that. Like I n e e d to." she said, looking at the girl with trust in her eyes. "So... I think it is pretty much... easier to do stuff with a friend. Not alone."

She looked at the girl. "Right, I should probably introduce myself first. Ava Silver, a Slytherin at your service. And I believe you are Aurelia B-" she stopped here. "Sorry, your surname's hard to pronounce. Let's just stick with Aurelia." 

The girl who brought her into the room started rolling on the floor and letting out feats of laugher.

"I did not abduct, you! You were just the closest person. And I was bored."

the girl explained. Aurelia rolled her eyes. The Proffesor had probably returned by now. She must have noticed that she wasn't around. Since she was one of the prominent students who kept raising her hand, maybe the teacher wouldn't have noticed the girl who brought her I the room but the teacher would definitely notice that she was gone She was going to get in deep trouble, she needed to get back immediately. Aurelia just needed to distract this strange girl who she'd never met and run.

...because... I wanted to do something more productive than writing constellations down,

The girl had explained. Aurelia slapped her forehead and groaned. This girl can't be serious, she needed to get good grades in order to make it to the next year. How wasn't that productive?

The girl explained she wanted to learn how to do a few spells.

Expelliarmus. See? I need to learn that. Like I n e e d to

"Expelliaramus?" Aurelia said as her eyes lit up. On the other hand, this might seem a little more productive. She charms teacher never taught her how to perform that spell as it should be learnt in the lesson of Defence against the dark arts, which she wasn't allowed to take.

Right, I should probably introduce myself first. Ava Silver, a Slytherin at your service. And I believe you are Aurelia B-

"Aurelia Bezuidenhout. It's actually only four syllables. Be-zui-den-hout. Easy."

Aurelia took out her wand 26 cm wand and walk across the room. Her wand was grasped in her hand tightly.

"I'm ready when you are..."

Ava started chuckling. "Ok, ok, ok... First of all, why in the world would I use the spell on you? I do not really want to blow you up. That would be stupid, considering the fact that I want to be friends with you, right? That would be stupid." she said. Looking around, she saw that the training dummies were in perfect condition. No marks from students trying to literally blow them up or anything like that. Perfectly clean, beautiful, wood. She walked up to the girl and took her by the arms, trying to show her the dummies as well.

"See? We have those guys, we are cool, do not worry, my friend," she said, not really caring if Aurelia Bezuidenhout would count Ava as a friend. Whatever, why even care? she thought and shrugged. "I wanted to train with someone. Since I left London and... my sister, I was feeling pretty lonely. Needed someone to spend time with. A friend," the girl said and looked off to the side.  

"Anywayyyy," the young Silver said, getting back to the girl. "I just... wanted to train with someone. Doing stuff alone is something I certainly am not used to. My sister was always there with me, and it feels pretty lonely." the girl looked at Aurelia. 

Ok, ok, ok... First of all, why in the world would I use the spell on you? I do not really want to blow you up. That would be stupid, considering the fact that I want to be friends with you, right? That would be stupid.

The girl said. Aurelia laughed. Ava didn’t even know what the expelliarmus spell was yet she wanted to learn it.
“No silly, it doesn’t blow you up, it disarms. Means you can snatch up a wand from an opponent without physically touching it.” Aurelia explained.
“The dummies don’t look like they have Wands do they?” she read about the expelliarmus spell recently. It didn’t have any lethal side effects if cast wrongly. So she could say it was safe to practice on each other.
“Come on, try the spell on me.” Aurelia urged. She knew how to do it but Ava probably didn’t.
“Just wave your wand in the correct hand movement and shout the incitation, a Expelliarmus. And don’t forget to aim it at my wand” She instructed.

She held her wand losely so it would be easier for Ava to disarm her. They needed to take small steps before starting.

"Ok, I did not mean 'Blow you up' literally. I know how that spell works, I've seen my father and mother and sister and everyone in my family cast it maybe a thousand times. I rather meant  it as 'I have no idea how to cast that spell and I am pretty sure that if I tried to I would blow you up or at the least do something to you, which would result in us having to go to the hospital wing and alarming the nurse and that would be how the astronomy teacher would find out we weren't in class.'" Ava said in one breath, shaking her head and chuckling at the same time. The girl had no idea why she found it funny. Maybe it was the fact that Aurelia Bezuidenhout (Ava could finally pronounce her surname right!) was way smarter than her and knew how to cast it while Ava did not? We will never know. The young Slytherin shrugged and looked at Aurelia's wand, focusing all of her mind on it. 

"Ok..." she said and put up her wand. "Expeliarmus!" she yelled and tried to do the correct hand movement while also trying to be as quiet as possible so no one could find out they were here and not where they were supposed to be - the astronomy tower.

The charm... kind of worked. Sure, Aurelia lost her wand, but Ava did as well and it threw both of them at the walls they were near. "Well, that was..." Ava said, laying down on the floor in pain. The adrenaline of finally being able to train with someone was stopping the pain to some degree but hen you get thrown at a wall, it's kinda hard to not be in pain.

Ava held the wand steadily in her hand. Aurelia could tell she was nervous. Aurelia was nervous too, she new many ways the spell could go wrong. The Disarming charm has two effects, one was to cause what ever the target was holding in his or her hand to fly out of reach and the other was to rebound the opponents spell. It was impossible to know which effect the spell would take. Maybe just one or possibly both.

Ava stared at her in The Eye from across the room. She was focusing. It was an important factor to concentrate when casting a spell else it would fail.

Expeliarmus!

the girl cited. A bright white spark was created. Aurelia’s wand flew out of her hand, at the same time, she was thrown back, slamming into the concrete wall. The impact made hee wheeze as the air in her lungs was forced out of her. It took a while for her to understand what just happened. The girl clearly said the incitation wrongly. She groaned as she sat up. She had experience something like this before in a defence against the dark arts lesson when the topic was on the kickback spell. The feeling was awful.

“Are you alright, Ava?” She asked.

Well, that was...

Ava replied. At least she knew Ava was alive.

“I’m alright, but I think you said the spell wrongly.” Aurelia commented.
