Born to Eoin and Aoimhe Crow on the 10th of June, 2009 in the royal Victoria hospital.
He lives in Belfast, County Down, with his parents.
His parents spend the majority of their time working, and are only with Alexander for around an hour a day on week days. As a result of this, Alexander cherishes every moment he has with his parents, but despises the fact that they have to work so much.

Alexander's father gets home earlier than his mother, and would typically tell Alexander stories about magic as a bedtime story. One particular story that Alexander is quite interested in is that of the philosopher's stone; He thinks that if he and his parents used it to make gold, they would become rich, and they would be able to spend more time together as his parents wouldn't need to spend so much time at work.

He spends the majority of his time at home alone. His parents would leave microwave dinners in the fridge for him, as they would never be home early enough to make him dinner. The only exception to this is Sundays; both of Alexanders parents have Sunday off, so they spend the day out together, and order a takeaway for dinner.

Alexander, for a reason unbeknownst even to himself, doesn't like having friends over to his house, so to cope with the isolation of staying at home for several hours a day every week, he typically talks aloud to his cast of imaginary friends when alone, something he will continue to do in Hogwarts. The imaginary friends are dear to him, but would also be a great source of embarrassment if someone found out about them.

Alexander was well liked among his peers in primary school. He is quite capable at doing well in his schoolwork, but normally wouldn't apply himself as he would much rather spend his time talking to his friends. He would do quite well in his homework, however, as he would put a great amount of time and effort into even the smallest assignment, simply as a way to pass the time.

Alexander started showing his first signs of magic at a very early age, but they were so insignificant that no one put much thought into it; his bottle appearing on the counter whenever he wanted to be fed, lost toys reappearing in his cot the next morning.
The event that finally made the book of admittance open for him occurred on the day of his 11th birthday. His parents had bought him a small cake, as they had put most of the money they could spend into Alexander's birthday present, a PlayStation. Alexander, despite how much he liked his present, was dissatisfied with the cake. He didn't voice his disappointment though, because he knew how hard his parents had worked. However, whenever it came time to cut the cake, it was found that it had been replaced with something much grander; instead of one layer, it now had 5, with sparking candles surrounding the edges. No one really knew where the cake came from, but since the other had disappeared, they decided to eat it the new one.

A few days later, a letter from Hogwarts slid through the door.

At first, Alexander's parents were worried that the strange school would be too expensive, but after a few letters delivered via owl, they discovered that magical tuition was, in fact, free, and decided that going to Hogwarts would be for the best.
