Let Me Read Your Cards PV Henry Knight Closed

Since the start of his second year, Henry has felt out of place at Hogwarts with all his thoughts on his hidden life and family, it worsen his anxiety and stress by the minute not to mention the increasing prominent thought of running away that kept on sneaking into his mind whenever he was alone or lost in thoughts. The twelve year saw a flyer for Tarot card readings, he thought why not and give it a shot while yes he didn't really believe in divination only because he was truly terrible at it, he was still willing to try this to help him deal with his worries, anxiety, and thoughts since listening to his confident and social older brother wasn't helping.

Dressed in his usual worn out jeans, worn put long gray sleeve shirt, and faded greenish jacket Henry walked along the corridors toward the classroom where his appointment was for the Tarot reading as he approached the classroom with his messager type bag position on his shoulder he finally saw a familiar face; Alina Rosier. The fellow second year he met at diagon alley then a few more times else where, he promised to tutor the girl in a few subjects which he never minded. In fact he quite enjoyed helping someone else for a change instead of his older brother usual tutoring him in advanced lessons that sometimes were a bit boring for the twelve year old.

He heard Alina speak his name in a inviting in manner and so he followed her into the classroom as he spoke " Hey Alina, nice seeing you again," Henry listened to her self introduction and laughed a bit from the obvious of them doing each other already before taking the paper from her and taking a pen out from his messager type bag,
he would have used a quill but for the moment a pen seemed to be faster. As Henry read over the paper which was a disclaimer in a speedy manner before signing his first and last name in a neat but also bit messy cursive writing and adding the date.

Henry placed the pen back in his bag before handing Alina the disclaimer and saying " this is a great idea by the way," Henry then listened as Alina showed the drinks and snacks on top of the table before pouring herself a glass of lemonade AMD sitting down in the middle of the floor surrounded by pillows and blankets. Henry nodded to her before walking over to the table and noticing some lemon drops as he took a handful and dropped it into his messager type bag before pouring himself a cup of lemonade to.

Taking a slip of his lemonade before taking the cup and his bag to where Alina was sitting on the floor, Henry sat down in front of Alina on the floor as he placed his cup next to him before taking his messager type bag off and putting his bag next to his cup. Henry placed his right foot on the ground but bended his foot so his knee was standing up and folding his left leg underneath his right knee, as he then leaned his hands on his left knee and spoke " I guess I'm ready."

Once he was settled, she split the deck, shuffled it again a few more times, then passed the cards over to him. "Let them know you," she said and smiled, knowing that might sound weird. And it was; yet it wasn't. She wanted him as comfortable with these cards and his energy needed to be there too for this to work as Tarot card were intended to.

"Now the Celtic Cross Spread should help with complicated situations and dilemmas. For this to work, we can do it one of two ways...the first is you can tell me a little about the specific situation that's on your mind so that I might better understand the cards...knowing that no information leaves this room. The other option is for you to keep that information private, which is fine too, just makes it a little trickier. But I get it, we all have our demons," and she meant that.

She then held out her hands for the deck and took them again, shuffling them a moment before placing them down before her. "Part the cards in three stacks, please. Don't give it too much thought, just however feels right" she said.

Hers was a grandmother who had murdered her own mother but never knew it until years had passed. Hers was coming from what she thought was a pureblooded family only to find kinks in the road like a mother who was a squib, hers was a childhood riddled with expectations, abuse, neglect. Hers was loneliness and being ignored.

Alina then placed the cards together and shuffled them once more. This was part of cleansing the deck, but also allowing the deck to feel the energy in the room. "Part in three stacks once more, please."

She did hope Henry might share a little bit with her. She had wanted to be closer friend with him. Still, she understood that their friendship was still in the beginning stage and if he wanted to keep some information to himself for now, that was fine. Alina Rosier was good at accepting people for how they were and valuing them for who they were.

Henry watched Alina shuffle a deck of cards before handing them to him and speaking, in which Henry nodded " alright," before taking the deck and shuffling them loosely as he listened to Alina's explanation before shuffling them some more and finally speaking " it's sort of personal but would a outline still help?" Henry waited for her answer before he also heard her say to split the cards into three piles, Henry shuffled them some more and he spoke softly " my situation is personal but it's also a mix of different things," Henry took one pile out of the deck and laid it on the table.

Continuing to shuffle he spoke again softly " the first part involves my family, uh and meeting my father's family for the first time which gone wrong and led to other problems," Henry placed another pile down before continuing to shuffle the cards and speaking softly again " the next part is a bit harder to explain, have you ever felt like you didn't belong somewhere or if you could escape your problems? If you could just close your eyes and proof they all disappear and you can breath again," Henry then placed the third pile on the table as he spoke " oh then there's my anxiety that I been meaning to work with."

Henry laughed a bit but then stopped suddenly as he thought how weird it was that he barley knew Alina but felt like he could trust her, as he then spoke " these readings are a great idea by the way," when Alina said to spilt them up again. Henry spilt them up again as he spoke " so for tutoring you, I can a tarot card reading? I much enjoyed this just so you know."

"Thanks, and I appreciate it," she said with a smile as her eyes lifted to watch his closely. There was something about Henry Knight that just provided so much comfort to her. Maybe it was because he was so helpful. Maybe it was because he seemed to care. Maybe it was because when she needed someone the most, he was there. Maybe it was because she could sense there was a void within him too and they were kindred spirits in a way.

She appreciated him sharing some of his thoughts with her, even if he wasn't ready to share it all. She understood. It was hard to confide in someone about your most personal affairs, especially when all they did was end up leaving you behind as if you never mattered in the first place, by choice or not. "Well, maybe as a reader I can help give you insight and maybe as a friend I can offer advice when you're reading to share more but as for the anxiety aspect...can't help there. I'm a big ball of it myself."

But was he there as a friend? Or was this just for the reading? She needed to stop being the classic Hufflepuff where everyone wanted to just be friends and spend time with each other. No, he was there for a Tarot reading and that's what she needed to do. He wasn't there for friendship, and while he was easy on the eyes and caught her attention, he certainly wasn't there for more than friendship.

"So umm..." she paused, making sure the cards were placed out as so and instructed him on when to pick one. "The Celtic Cross Spread" hopefully will offer you some guidance with some things to sort out. Sometimes it's nice to just help you see things from a different perspective and if you disagree with them, you at least can sort out your true thoughts and feelings on something."

Alina took his first two cards and laid them to the side, once on top of the other in a cross formation. She then placed one card to the right of that. One card then was placed below the cross, another on top of the cross, and one to the left. Out to the side she lined up four cards in a row.

"Okay, we'll start here at the cross," she pointed to the first cards she laid down. "The first card is your current situation and you got the Two of Wands. Try and think about what's important to you and what motivates and drives you. When the Two of Wands is reversed like this, it's reminding you to put your emotion in perspective. Sometimes what you feel is not the total reality of a situation. Sometimes you have to make a chance and try new things in order to enjoy life."

Alina then pointed to the top card of the cross of his selection. "This is the Four of Coins and again, reversed. It is asking you to loosen your hold on your need for security and step out of your comfort zone. When it's reversed like this, it can mean that you should be more open, more generous, and to stay positive."

She then turned to the right of the cross. "Always be courageous, and fair, and kind. The odds may not always be on your side, but you are more than capable to beat them. Don't hesitate to make it clear where you stand to people. This card, the Seven of Wands, can indicate that a change is coming, a positive change. It can also point toward being independent and thinking for yourself."

Alina smiled, glad that the cards seemed to hold good things for Henry because he deserved it. She then pointed to the Ace of Wands. "This card encourages you to make the most out of every opportunity so that your life will be full of great and wonderful things. It depicts being optimistic and hopeful about your future. Aces also tell us that now is a good time to start something new."

The top of the cross, the card closer to us. "This area is your conscious desires. Your card, Temperance, tells us that even when reversed, all your relationships are likely to be going quite well. But look deeper at your personal issues and see if or how they are standing in your way. If they are, work with them. The idea is to find balance in yourself, in your relationships, and with your goals and aspirations. If you need help, ask." She looked back up to him. She didn't know if he had a lot of close friendships there at Hogwarts but she was certainly someone he could turn to if he wanted.

The last card of the cross section was the Eight of Coins. "This card will remind you that before you start on a goal, be clear what you want to accomplish. You will have a lot on your plate that you must accomplish and dedication to the tasks at hand is important."

And now for the cards at the side. She smiled, "the Knight got a Knight," she pointed to it. "The Knight of Swords is telling you that it's the perfect time to follow your heart and pursue your passion. You're unlikely to feel like waiting for anything to come to you and that's a good thing, go after your heart's desires."

She pointed to the next card in the line. "The High Priestess is your energy card. She is tell you that it may be difficult to hear what your intuition is telling you. Quiet down, spend some time alone and think, meditate, go for a walk, journal. The information you seek is there. Trust yourself and your judgements."

Alina then pointed to The Magician card. "This card suggestions that a situation has been or soon will be presented to you that has all the inherent components to allow the manifestation of your desires. You should be finding that you have the knowledge, strength, and inspiration to meet your challenges In general, this is a very positive time for you."

His last card. "The Five of Swords is telling you to not let things escalate unnecessarily. Practice patience and understanding in everything that you do. Again, I think it's just telling you to think things out a bit to make a plan and then act."

She reached the end of the cards and so that was the reading part of this. She didn't know if he'd want to stay and talk some more, to share some tea and treats and conversation, of if he was ready to go.

"I hope something was helpful."

Henry smiled when Alina spoke and let her continued, something definitely felt strange around Alina. Maybe not strange, more like comforting or just a feeling that felt like she knew what he was going through and he also or could know what she was going through. Henry smiled a bit toward her before continuing " both sounds nice, thanks I guess... uh maybe we could help each other with our anxiety sometime then," Henry smiled at the girl as she begun to explain the spread and that he shouldn't take it exactly to heart or live by it in which Henry smiled a bit " so use it as a guide almost, right?"

Henry watched as she moved the card and set them up with ease and memory almost, it was beautiful to Henry as he spoke " you really good at this by the way maybe, uh maybe you can teach me if you don't mind of course?" Henry smiled toward her as he listen to her start the spread, glancing at each card she was referring about. Looking at the first card; two of wands revered Henry listened and wonder how he would try new things to or take chances? Putting his emotions first sounded harder actually toward the but who usually kept them hidden from the world and others around him.

Henry looked at the next one; the four of coins reversed and actually he kind of agree with her words, maybe he should let go of the past and move on. There been so many changes in his life but maybe it's time to let go of the past and step into the future. Henry then moved his eyes to the seven of wands and was now fixed on Alina's words more than ever, a change? What can that mean and a positive one to? Could a change that is good really be waiting for me? Could my life be taking a turn for the better?

Henry smiled up at Alina letting her continue the spread but clearly enjoying himself at the moment as he moved his eyes to the next card and again listen to her words, maybe he should be living in the moment because at the moment he was doing fine. His life was better than fine, maybe he should take Arthur's advice and now Alina's spread to live in the moment and not worry about the past, to find himself and enjoy life.

Henry then moved his eyes to the next card and those words were odd, find balance in his relationships. See if anyone was standing in his way and how. Henry never thought of it like that and how he had friends, the boy only had a few close friends there maybe 2 or 3 so Henry wasn't sure where to start how to do it. When Alina suggested to help him, he just smiled and nodded at her to almost see yes to her offer.

Moving his eyes to the next card he listened to her words and let her move to the next in which he laughed a bit when she spoke " a knight got a knight" Henry then listened to her words and figured he show try something new but what did his heart want at the moment? He could think if endless possibilities but no answers.

Henry listened to the last three cards and found that spending time alone was already something he was doing a lot of but wondered what situation was coming toward him. When she finished, Henry smiled toward her before saying " thanks Alina that was helpful and still a wicked idea for doing it," Henry couldn't help but fidget with his hands a bit as he thought about the cards and finally spoke " which spread do you offended do Alina?"

Henry smiled at her before looking at the clock and speaking again " if you would like me to go I could Alina? But I can also stay and uh talk a while if you want?" Henry thought back to the spread before speaking again " find balance in my relationships, would you mind explaining a bit future?"

"I'd love for you to stay longer," she brightened up, glad he wasn't leaving just yet. She really didn't want to make her way back to the Hufflepuff Common Room and end her night just yet because surely she'd work on some schoolwork before bedtime and where was the fun in that?

"I do a daily spread often, sometimes the weekly one. I've done the one for love and relationship advice. My father has taught me a lot of different ones over the years and it's nice to practice just to stay up to speed on it all, the interpreting and such." She placed her cards down a little ways away so they wouldn't get knocked over and scattered all around and pulled one of the soft cushion like pillows onto her lap.

"It's a great way to sort through your thoughts and feelings when you aren't sure what you're thinking or feeling...or who to turn to. That can be one of the most difficult parts. I find that when someone doesn't know me all that well, some of my issues seem superficial to them or like they don't matter but I feel like they don't see the bigger picture, you know? I guess that's why I like to really find a connection with someone on a deeper level, get to really know them and hope they do the same. That way, we can really be there for one another," and she paused. She didn't know if Henry wanted that kind of friendship though. Maybe he just wanted a casual acquaintance.

Sorry for the wait

Henry smiled when she said he could stay and they could chat for a while, so he positioned his knees up and wrapped his arms around them. It was more comfortable for him to sit in for long periods at a time and he assumed that him and Alina would be talking for a while since he enjoy talking to her and from what he had seen, would like to be her friend or a closer friend if they were already friends. The boy didn't quite know.

Henry took a slip of the lemonade that he grabbed as he listened to Alina talk about the spreads she does and where he learn to them in the first place. Henry placed his drink back on the grounds before saying " that's so cook that you do them Alina. Are you close with your dad? That's cool that he taught you how to do it, I can't remember the last time that my father taught me anything." Henry wasn't that close with his father probably because his father was never around so he grew close with his older brother who in some way or another was more like a parent figure to Henry than his actual parent.

Henry listened to her talk about friends and opening up with them, the thought was still new to Henry since for most of his life he kept his emotions and problems to himself outside of his family of course. It wasn't until Hogwarts that it started to change but still he still getting used to doing that. Henry smiled at Alina as he spoke " I understand that, definitely. Especially with close friends or ones like that," he paused before continuing " so moving away from the cards, how have you been Alina? What's been happening with your life?"

"No, we're not really close. This is about one of the only things we've bonded over...this and he admitted to me at the beginning of Summer that he was supposed to be in Hufflepuff as well. He's always been pretty....distant, whether physically or just distant by nature. Normally he's not home but between business trips and sometimes when he is he brings a new woman to the house and we don't see him anyway even if he's there..." She paused.

"But I thought it was changing some this Summer. I thought maybe that we were getting closer and you know...that maybe he cared. I don't know. I uh...I haven't heard from him since towards the end of August. Not a word, not a sighting, not a letter. I've written," she paused again because she hated to talk about how pathetic things were between her and her only guardian, "lots."

Henry wanted to know how it was going with her though and this was it. Lonely. She felt friends had a lot going on these days and were off and about, her sister was off at Beauxbatons doing her thing, and that led to Alina with her inner struggles to fight them herself when she really wasn't sure how to start.

"I think that's partially why I decided to do these readings. Get out of the dormitory some in the evenings and fight off the loneliness," and she laughed. It was pathetic. "I'm not usually a mess like this. I promise."
