Recipe For Disaster Errand

Meanwhile, in Dingle, Ireland...

It was a spectacular day. The sun was out, but no so oppressive that people would burn. The weather was perfect enough for four boys, as shirtless and barefooted as you please, to run and play and enjoy the day.

After a full day of making trouble at the wharf, "adventuring" in the woods, and hanging out at the Aquarium, they decided to go to Dan's place for some gaming and anime. They had recently gotten into Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, loving every minute of the way over the top action, the poses, and the titular Jojo of the season they were on, Joseph Joestar, outsmarting all his opponents. Though, they were told that things REALLY kick off at season 3, and they couldn't wait.

Once they arrived though, they found that Dan's parents were not home presently. And weirder still, an owl was waiting on the kitchen table, having flown in through the open window.

"Oi Dan. What'san owl doin' on yer table fer?" Patrick seemed curious.

Dan had to think quick.
"Ah- Well, my boardin' school in Scotland use owls teh send letters. Weird, I know."

Sean was not at all convinced.
"What? Yer school's run by a shower'a gobshites, mate. Teh feckers can't even send ye a text or summat? Yer backwards-arse school, lad."

"Hey, that's enuffa that, now. Lemme just see what it says."

Dan took the offered letter and read it
As he did, his face took on a look of annoyed disdain.

Gargott, fer Christs sake. Why would ye send it to me muggle address, ye 'tard?! And where do ye get off, callin' students to bake for ye?! Bloody langer.

"Well, wot's it say then?" Jack was clearly not patient. Not that Dan could blame him. He wasn't the only one who wanted to get on with the anime.

"Well, turns out our groundskeeper's a lazy shit, and is complainin' about bein' hungry. So he wants a buncha students teh bake him some shite and send it to him."

"Yer jokin', right? Wot kinda lazy-arse blobbo calls up people on their summer break to make HIM food???"

"I know. But... would ye lot mind helpin'? Faster I do this stupid shite, faster we get to anime."

None of the boys looked that eager to bake, but they agreed to nonetheless. After each of the boys used their phones to look up a recipe, they decided simply on cookies. They were easy to make, and didnt require you to make frosting or anything extra from scratch.

After gathering and then mixing all the ingredients properly, or at least what they imagined to be the proper mixing procedure, they put it all in a pan in lumps. But, then they remembered what cookies looked like, and flattened them slightly.

Then they put them in the oven, set the temperature, and set the timer. Afterward, they went to watch an episode of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure as they baked.
Once the timer went off, they quickly extracted them from the oven, and had a look. To their surprise, they were VERY underdone.

"Wot the shag happened? What'd we do wrong?"

"Wait.... Ye damn morons! Yer sposta PREheat the oven BEFORE ye put the biscuits in!"

"I sure didn't see YE comin' and fixin' the problem, O Great Masterchef Dan!"

"I dunno how teh fockin' bake!"

"Alright alright. We'll just puttem back. We'll puttem back, and we'll check later."

And so they did. What Dan was NOT aware of, is that Sean turned the temperature up so they'd be done faster.

They stopped about halfway through another episode, and came back. They looked done, lovely golden brown, but upon a test bite, they realized the insides were still undercooked.

Then, after even longer in the oven, the entire place started smoking, and they had to hastily yank the pan out of the over and break out the fire extinguisher to keep from burning the kitchen down.

It was at this moment that Dan had had enough.

"Fer the luvva god! Arright, whatever, fock this shite. I am ENTIRELY over this!"

And with that, Dan dumped the whole batch of now irredeemable cookies into the garbage. Immediately after, to hide his shame, and any evidence that anything took place here, he washed off the baking sheet, dried it off, and put it back precisely as he found it. Same spot, same position, everything. And after that was done, he took out the trash, and emptied it into the bin at the end of the driveway.

No one could know. There must be no trace.

"Well now what? Just givin' up then?"

"Dont worry 'bout it. I'll take care of it, 'n see that it's handled. Just gimme a minnit to make sure there's no trace, get Jojo ready, will yeh?"

After they left, Dan discreetly and quietly spoke a name in a whisper.

"Hoody."

Immediately, a House Elf in a makeshift hoodie jacket appeared, completely hidden from sight by the kitchen island. Once Dan had finally met him for the first time, they had become great friends, to the point that Dan didnt even see him as a servant, despite his servant status.

"Yes Young Master Palmer, how may Hoody serve?"

"Could ye make up some biscuits in the other house? With icing topping? Its fer our groundskeeper at Hogwarts."

"Yes, young master. Hoody will begin baking immediately."

Without a word, Hoody vanished to begin baking.

With that taken care of, Dan rejoined his friends, and watched some more anime. He was a bit disappointed that he couldn't bake them himself, but he also knew that that was doomed from the start.
