Chocolate Ice cream, Please?
Millie walked into the ice cream parlour, her father still inside of Ollivanders talking to the owner of the store. Millie couldn't remember his name, but she did know that she didn't find him as interesting as her father did. To be fair, it was his first taste of the magical world, and Millie had already read all kinds of books before going shopping.
The inside of the icecream parlour smelled sweet, so that sweet that if it got any sweeter, it would be overwhelming. The seats were full of students chatting and laughing. Millie lined up and looked at the flavours, most of which she had never heard of. To be fair, Millie hardly ever went to get ice cream; she was more of a cafe person. Finally, it was her turn, and the employee at the front smiled at her.
"What can I get you?" she asked.
"Um, chocolate ice cream, please," I said quickly. Why did I say that? I don't even like chocolate ice cream that much...
"We don't really have um...chocolate ice cream here. Pralines is similar, though" the witch suggested. Millie nodded, though she had never even tasted pralines ice cream before. She waited for the witch to serve her icecream and then she quickly paid.
On her way out, she looked at the other students laughing together, and she almost envied their friendships. Millie might not have been jealous, but she was certainly more interested in their conversations than her own life, and she paid the price. All of a sudden, she bumped right into someone, her brand-new ice cream cone splashing all over both of their clothes.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay!?" she asked when she had seen what had happened.

Passing through Diagon Alley was normal for her, as she usually tried to peak down Knockturn for bits at a time. It never worked, obviously, as someone always seemed to catch her sneaking around.
Today was different, though she couldn't quite figure out how. Maybe it was the sudden business in the square, how there seemed to be more students than usual. All annoying, every single one of them. She could guarantee that all of the were pompous little brats, all feeling entitled to their fortune.
She passed a group of giggling first years, their laughter quickly cutting short at the sight of Lana. Perhaps they were frightened, thinking she was a vampire of some kind. She surely did look the part, though alas, her pale skin was just human genetics, and the bags under her eyes were just due to loss of sleep.
Lights seemed to flicker on the street as she walked past each one, though Lana didn't seem to notice. It was normal for eerie things to happen when she was present, as if she had an evil aura resting upon her head.
She'd been casually peering through shops, stopping to look at the sign for ice cream. She didn't even like such a treat, though it was still entertaining to read the idiotic flavor names.
She then suddenly came to stop, the force of another person crashing into her body.
Lana staggered backwards, seemingly unharmed. Her face remained expressionless, looking up at the girl to see who she'd be blessing her presence with.
It then hit her, a wave of cold piercing her skin. It wasn't the usual chill she gave others as she passed, but more so a physical sort of pain. It was as if someone had poured ice on top of her.
Or ice cream...
She looked at the girl in disgust, the sugar in the melting ice cream beginning to make her skin wet and sticky. "How delightful of you."

You're such a klutz! Millie reprimanded herself mentally. How are you supposed to make friends at Hogwarts if you've ruined your reputation before you even arrive?
"How delightful of you" Millie heard the person she had crashed into say with a dark tone of voice.
Millie stepped, back flustered. When she had finally steadied herself, she looked at the person she had bumped into. She looked like a vampire or some kind of undead creature Millie thought, though she quickly dismissed this thought. She's just tired, that's all. That's why she looks so...dead..., she thought, trying to calm down. However, Millie's usual calming techniques didn't work. There something off about this girl. She was scary, even to Millie, who considered seeing the best in people one of her talents. But this girl, she was different. Millie felt threatened just being in her presence
It had finally occurred to Millie that she had been staring, and she quickly blurted out an apology. Grabbing some napkins from the front of the ice cream parlour, she mumbled calming things to herself under her breath.
"Um, do you want some napkins?" Millie asked, looking at her feet. For the first time that she could remember, Millie couldn't look someone in the eye.

"No." She said cooly, her tone blunt and straightforward. She glanced down at her attire, white and brown swirls melting upon her in the hot sun. She could feel her temper rising, though she managed to keep a straight face.
Lana pulled out her wand calmly from her pocket, pointing it at herself as she moved it in such a way that it portrayed the letter S.
"Scourgify." She said softly, a yellow shed of light producing from the tip of her wand. Her outfit seemed to be back to normal, the previous stickiness long gone from her skin.
She raised her head to look properly at the girl, having the suspicion that only a first-year could have made such a clumsy mistake. Her eyes met a pair of large brown ones, their emotion mixed with both fear and worry. She knew she should feel bad for startling such a person, though it didn't bother her in the slightest. She strived for other's discomfort. It was what gave her purpose.
"A girl who doesn't even say sorry- how amusing." She replied, her voice dull. It was obvious there was no befriend Lana, so it was in her best interest to leave now.
Though Lana continued, not allowing the young girl to escape from her ghastly presence. She wanted her to be sorry, or at least somewhat uncomfortable.
"You go to Hogwarts, right? Or at least you will."

Hearing those words brought back a forbidden memory of Millie's. One that she had tried to bury and hide forever. The only memory of the incident that Millie hadn't gotten over yet. "You're so annoying, Millie" she heard in her head for the one hundredth time. Stop, Millie. Stop thinking about it. This isn't about you, not everything is or has to be, she reminded herself with a stab of guilt."Sorry, I'm being annoying aren't I?...."
"What? No, of course you're not being annoying!" Millie said, then added, "you're the nicest witch I've spoken to so far." She pushed away the hurt in her mind and smiled at the girl, Spades was her name, right?
"You said your name was Spades?" Millie asked cheerfully. "I've never heard that name before, but it's pretty! My name is Millie, Millie Corbyn. My name's pretty ordinary, but I like it, I guess. Not difficult to forget, right?"
Millie laughed at her own comment, and once her mess was all cleaned up, she threw out the napkins and thanked Spades for her help with the cleaning.
"Thanks so much for helping me," she said happily, I hope I see her again...I hope we're in the same house, Millie found herself thinking. "I hope to see you at Hogwarts!"

Chocolate Ice cream, Please?
(Editor's Note: all is forgiven! No need to worry)
Millie waved at her new friend and went off to Ollivanders. Her father was still in the store, fascinated by everything that Ollivander was telling him. Out of everyone in Millie's family, her father was the one most surprised and most interested. That was why he had agreed to take her to Diagon Alley, though they almost gave up on getting in, but they were lucky enough to have a boy, who was going into his second year, and his mother, arrive at the brick wall where you were supposed to enter.
Millie waved to her father, catching his attention. He noticed that she was waving, and he signalled for her to come over to them. Millie walked over, secretly hoping that she wouldn't have to listen to Mr. Ollivander go on about whatever he was telling her father about.
"Um, dad, we need to buy my robes," Millie said, and grabbed his hand, gently pulling him towards the door.
"Ah," Ollivander said. "You're a busy man, Corbyn, you better help out your daughter while she still lets you." My father smiled and nodded before he waved goodbye and we finally left.
On their way to Madam Malkin's, they passed by Spades, and Millie waved. "Hi, Spades," she called out, before explaining how she had met the girl.

Spades looked at Millie "Hi Millie! is that your dad?" Spades asked with curiositiy , Millie nodded , Spades greeted her father with a smile as she listended to Millie about how they met , her father greeted Spades back , 'He's nice , is he a muggle though , he seems fascinated by everything?" Spades whispered to Millie , She nodded
"Now Millie , we have to go get your robes now! Nice to meet you Spades." Mr.Corbyn said excitedly , once again we both waved , Spade says she'll be at Weasley's Wizards Wheezes , she points at the area , Millie waves goodbye as Spades arrives at the shop
It was fantastic on the inside , Spades only came in since it looked cool from the outside , and the inside reflected it perfectly , Spades decided to get a remembreall since it was on the list , and a pygmy puff while she's at it.
She saw something on a high self , it was called a maureder's map , there was only one of them left , Spades just had to get it , "Accio Maurder's Map!" She said as she got the map , she looked at it , aparently it shows everything going on in hogwarts , with this , she knew she needed it , and so she payed the price and checked it out , she looked with wonder and kept it in her pocket , she knew she can't loose this.
