It had been another busy day for Molly. Although she’d been at Hogwarts for a few weeks now her body clock was still getting used to the demands of everyday. Although she had been use to attending school in the muggle world this felt different somehow. She wondered if it was because she didn’t get to go home after each day so she was constantly at school and therefore felt like she would constantly need to be learning or doing something constructive. Molly had definitely found it difficult to allow herself to have some downtime and relax.

This evening Molly had eaten dinner in the great hall after her last class and had made her way to the library to do some extra reading. She’d had defense against the dark arts earlier in the day and she wanted to read up on some of the things that she wasn’t too sure about. After spending and about and hour and a half amongst the books trying to absorb some of the knowledge she checked out a book and decided to head back to the Hufflepuff common room to read some more.

Molly hadn’t experienced too much difficulty getting around the castle in her first few weeks of being a student at Hogwarts, however, most of the time she was following her fellow first students to and from their classes. It was as though they were each other’s collective guides. All of them lost but not lost at the same time. Having spent several evenings in the library Molly was pretty sure that she could find her way back to her common room without any fuss.

Tonight however, she was paying less attention than normal as she kept her nose in the book she had checked out. She was so fascinated by the subject of defense against the dark arts that Molly was barely aware of the other students around her, her feet working on autopilot and guiding her towards the her destination. Or so she had thought. After walking for what felt like an extraordinarily long time, Molly became very conscious of the fact that the hubbub of her fellow students had died away and everything seemed unusually quiet.

Pulling the book down Molly looked around, she was in a corridor that she didn’t recognise, she viewed the paintings on the wall and none of them looked familiar. Molly had no clue where she was or how to get to the common room now. Taking a deep breath she reminded herself not to panic, that wasn’t going to help the situation and besides she wasn’t in any danger. She slipped the book into her school bag. ”That will teach me not to pay attention to where I’m going” she mumbled furiously to herself. Molly turned around on the spot and began walking in the direction of where she thought she had come from.

Molly continued to follow the corridor until she came to a corner, as she rounded it she recognised the portraits on the wall as those that she had just seen in the unknown corridor. Exasperated she threw her hands up in the air. ”What on earth” she said trying to figure out where she had gotten turned around.

Molly tried and tried and tried again for about twenty minutes, but she always seemed to end up in the same spot. She was really frustrated now and she had a desire to cry but she convinced herself to remain strong and try to think about it logically, although is there any logic to the magic of Hogwarts. Realising that she needed to take a minute Molly leaned against one of the corridor walls and sunk to the floor where she closed her eyes for a moment trying to recall the movements of her feet. She hadn’t seen any other students for a while and she wasn’t sure if anyone was going to appear who could help her so she had to try and figure this out for herself. If she didn’t wasn’t there a risk that she could be stuck there forever?

This was one of the worst corridors in the entire castle. It was so terrible that Alina often passed it over even though she knew that section of her map was horribly incomplete. She found that every time she was in this area, it just seemed to ... play tricks on her or something. It probably sounded crazy to some of the students there but she was almost sure of it.

She had a pencil in one hand and her head was glanced down at the parchment she carried and turned the corner and headed down the corridor, trying to keep track of where she let off and where she needed to still complete when her clothes got caught on one of the metal suits of armors that lined the corridor's stone walls.

"EXCUSE YOU, SIR!" she said playfully, not expecting anyone to be around. And this is why most people seemed to think Alina Rosier was a bit off her rocker, a bit mental, a bit crazy, but in reality the girl just liked to TRY and be carefree and have a little fun...to focus on the positive and the good, not the bad. "That is NO WAY to treat a lady," and she pulled her skirt back from being caught on the metal. She glared at it, and of course it just stood there, unmoving. "This is why you're single."

Molly remained on the floor attempting to retrace her footsteps in her head so that she could try and figure out where she had taken the wrong turn and how to get back on track. The more she thought about it however, the more she felt lost. It would have helped if she had been paying attention in the first place instead of walking around with her nose in her book.

Molly's mother had always told her that she allowed herself to wander and become distracted by her thoughts too often and that it would get her in trouble one day. Of course Molly had always shrugged this off as motherly concern and a warning like fairy tales and fables. Here she was though lost, in a castle full of people but no one in sight.

As she was thinking about what to do, trying to figure out how to get help she heard a girls voice. Snapping her head around she saw another Hufflepuff girl and she instantly felt some hope. The girl however, hadn't seemed to noticed Molly's presence at all. Was she talking to a suit of armour? "Does the armour talk back like the portraits?" Molly thought to herself. With the things she'd come across since attending Hogwarts she wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Slowly lifting herself from the floor she pulled her satchel over her shoulder and slowly walked towards the girl. Was it rude to interrupt when someone was talking to armour? Molly wasn't sure and her timid nature was pulling her to sit back down on the floor but she knew if she allowed herself to do that she might never find her way back to the common room. "Ummm... excuse me..." she said her voice quiet "I'm sorry I don't meant to interrupt..... but I seem to have lost my way to the common room, I keep going round in circles. Would you be able to point me in the right direction." As Molly spoke to the girl she nervously waited for a reply hoping that the other girl hadn't gotten herself lost as well.

I'm so sorry for the delay in posting.

She turned around at the voice and smiled, feeling a bit embarrassed for her conversation with the armor just now. She probably wouldn't have done that if she knew someone was around. "Hi!" she said quickly, and cleared her throat, wondering what she could do to act like that never happened. She had nothing.

"Sure, I can help you find your Common Room. I'm Alina. Alina Rosier,"
she said and placed out her hand to the girl. She then kept her hand out extended as she took a nice large step away from the suit of armor so she wouldn't get caught up in it again. "Second Year Hufflepuff," she added.

She didn't recognize the girl in front of her, but that could mean a great many of things. Maybe she was a First Year. Maybe she was in another house. With all the exchange students around this year because of the interschool events, maybe she was an Illvermorny, Durmstrang, or Beauxbatons student.

Most likely the First Year or one of the exchange students since she was a bit confused about her whereabouts in the castle, although that wasn't always so. Even Alina, who explored the corridors quite often in attempts of making a map, found herself lost now and again.
