Errand Baking Goodies Solo

Damion had been busying himself in making goodies. He was wanting to get some of his baking skills to show up again. He had done some decorating and well had made some wonderful things earlier. Well here he was with his recipe book and things he needed for what he was making. He had gotten a letter from the Ground's keeper. He wanted to impress the guy and not leave him hungry. He had wanted to get something delicious made for him. He would need half an hour of preparation time then another sixty minutes to bake and chill his food item. He was super excited for this. He had his guide book where it said what items he needed. He was happy to have the book to guide him so that he wouldn't be making any mistakes. He was not making any mistakes.

He looked at it and nodded his head. He first needed to preheat oven to 325°. He moved to the oven and took out the trays from it before he saw the elf switch it on for him. Step one check. He thought. What's next? He thought. He read the next line and smiled. It was asking him to line bottom of a 9-in. springform pan with parchment; grease paper. Damii took the springform pan and put a grease paper on it. So far so good!

He had taken the ingredients that he needed out on the counter. He had eggs, packages of softened cream cheese, cider vinegar, sour cream, sugar, all-purpose flour, canola oil, buttermilk, food coloring, vanilla extract, baking cocoa, baking soda, salt, butter and confectioners' sugar. This was going to take a little longer than expected. He would have to make two different cakes and then set them together. This was going to be fun! He thought. He took a large bowl and started gathering the ingredients he needed for this part of the dish. He had to beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth in a bowl. After that he beat in sour cream, flour and vanilla and added egg. Then beat it on low speed just until it was blended. He poured into prepared pan and placed it on a baking sheet. He then gave the baking sheet to the elf to put the baking sheet in the oven and baked it until center is set. Fifty minutes later he took it out to cool on a wire rack and then loosened it's sides from pan with a knife and cooled it for another. He then put it in the fridge until ready to assemble.

Now he was ready to make the red velvet cake. He got the Elf to increased the oven setting to 350°. He then lined bottoms of two greased 9-in. round baking pans with parchment; grease paper. He was being very careful. He wanted to make a good layered cake. He took a large bowl to beat sugar, oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vinegar and vanilla until it was well blended. Taking another bowl he whisked flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and then he gradually beat it into sugar mixture. Then he transferred the mixture to prepared pans. Baking it until the cake was fully ready. He inserted a toothpick in center to make sure the cake was ready. He then cooled it in the pans for ten minutes before removing to wire racks; remove parchment and cooled it completely.

Since both his cakes were ready now, he could move on to the frosting part of his dish. Damion always took on something that was complicated. He wanted his parents and his buddy Dyllie to be proud of him. He looked at the next thing in his recipe guide book. he took a large bowl and started to beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth. He slowly and gradually beat in enough confectioners' sugar to get consistent enough. He looked at the mixture and smiled. It was time to get the cake assembled. He smiled to himself and took out a plate and started putting the dish together. He placed one layer of cake on and spread with one cup frosting. He carefully placed the cheesecake over frosting. He was liking the way his cake was looking so far. So far so good!

He then spread cheesecake with another one cup of frosting. Then he topped it with remaining cake layer. He also completely frost the cake- the top and sides of cake- with remaining frosting. His cake looked very good and well tasted good. He liked the way his cake had turned out. He gently took the plate his cake was in and put in the refrigerator. According to his guide book, it would take all night to cool down before he could owl it back to the Ground's keeper. He didn't want to send anything that was not good. He was wanting to make sure the cake was perfect when he sent it.

Next morning, he took the cold cake out and boxed it in a blue and silver box and wrote a small note

"I hope you enjoy this.
~Damion White"

He tied good bow around the box and put it inside a paper bag before sending it via an owl back to the Grounds' Keeper.
