Making my first enemy
Haley woke up the next morning of the ceremony and smiled slightly as she realized that this was not a dream. The other beds were already empty, so she decided to quickly get ready and explore the castle - her first little adventure.
As she finished in the bathroom and went into the Gryffindor common room, she saw some familiar faces from the night before. She could remember some of the names, but most of them she could'nt.
After a short chat with a few others, she decided to start her tour and noticed that the sun was shining and soon it was clear that her first way would lead outside.
The portrait closed behind Haley and immediately the nervousness increased, everything was still so new for her. No question, she felt at home here, but she was a little lost.
She walked down the stairs at a fast pace and absorbed as much of her surroundings as she could. She met some students, most of them must have been at least 2 years above her. She smiled shyly to everyone and in her eyes it looked as if everyone could remember her first day and nodded encouragingly to her.
Haley was hoping to make some new friends today, she felt the need to share all her impressions with someone. As she walked past two portraits that were discussing, almost arguing, she strayed from her thoughts and watched the brawlers without stopping. Suddenly there was a blunt impact and she fell backwards on her butt.
Immediately she was annoyed at how she could be so clumsy. She looked up and looked into an angry face. The girl seemed to be very young as well, probably also her first year. She had brown curly hair and brown eyes that looked angrily at Haley.
"I'm so sorry!" it came straight from Haley's mouth. She quickly straightened up and reached out her hand to help the girl across.

Seriously? Katie asked, looking up at the girl who's just ran into her. She was pretty nice and not one to snap at others for a minor thing like bumping into her, but this girl hadn't been looking where she was going. Note, the hot coffee that she'd been hiding was soaking through her robes. She noticed that the girl was a Gryffindor, as indicated by her red and gold robes.
Well, Katie sneered, I would say it must be the Gryffindor house that caused your total lack of care for where you were going, but I know plenty of Gryffindors who are actually decent people and look where they are going in the hallway. she felt slightly bad about taking up a tone with the girl. After all, it could've been an innocent mistake, but She hasn't fourteen to drink any of her coffee yet and wouldn't be able to now that it has been spilled on her. And this girl thinks an apology will brighten Katie's mood of having to go through a morning without coffee and soaking wet. Not to mention, while her robes prevented the coffee from burning her skin, She still felt it. She briefly felt bad for snapping at her. Sure it had been an accident, right? No. It certainly felt like it was purposeful. This was a purely horrid way the day had started. All thanks to her. She thought, glaring at the girl ahead.

Haley was terrified. Ouh... the girl across really resented her. She felt even worse and was incredibly sorry. If only she weren't always so clumsy and would just look where she was going.
Just as Haley was about to come out to apologize again, she came across to her. My total lack of care...why does she talk to me like that? It was just a stupid accident. Haley noticed how she got angry. Nevertheless she tried to stay friendly.
"Look, I'm really sorry, I should have looked where I was going. I didn't mean to." For a moment she wondered if she should leave it at that but continued "Still, I see no reason why you have to be so unfriendly right away!" Haley glanced at her angrily.
She knew just in that moment that she should have saved the last sentence, she wasn't looking for trouble. Still, she had no right to talk to her like that, after all they only collided slightly and nobody had suffered serious injuries, Haley thought.
So she stood up straight, pulled her shoulders back and also put on a mean look and stared at the girl opposite her. She noticed that she was a Slytherin.
Were all Slytherin so rude? Haley wondered quietly, but before she could lose herself in thought, she focused again on the angry face opposite her.

Really? Well then I suppose you'd like it if someone ran into you and soaked your robes I got coffee. she snapped. After hearing the girl continue to speak, her hesitations on being rude went away. If this girl was rife, she'd have top quickly learn that two could play at that game.
Well I'll tell you this. I DON'T like it when someone spills hot coffee on me. Katie continued, in a somewhat condescending manner.
So now you know. she finished. She shot a long, hard glare at the girl. She was quite irritated that this girl thought she could soul coffee on her and then also be rude. What a jerk. Katie had better people to spend time with than annoying coffee spillers.
Well? she snapped, in still a rude fashion, Are you going to help me clean up my books or what? she asked. it was, after all, your clumsiness caused them to slip from my hands. she added, clearly annoyed. Katie bent down to start picking up Her books, when she noticed something. She looked up and shoot a darker glare at the girl, still standing there. Well guys what? You ruined my friend's herbology journal. she said fuming. She had been about to let the whole thing go and move on, but now? She was beyond furious. Katie considered Siobhán a close friend, and she'd been holding onto the journal that held their private notes on plants and experiements. She was beyond upset. It was one thing to spill hot coffee on her robes, it was another to ruin a book, but to ruin her Siobhán and her plant journal? She was seriously mad at this girl. Who did she think she was?
Then it hit her. Ask their previous notes lost. She felt like crying at the loss of the notes. She became more and more visible upset as she realized that their was nothing salvageable from their journal.
@Haley Rose @Siobhán Moore
Alright. I'm tagging Siobhán only because this affects her. Siobhán, you don't have to respond in this, just so you get the context of what's going on between us and how this whole "feud" between Haley and I is starting and what not. No need to respond, just so you have the information

Making my first enemy
Haley got more and more annoyed about the Slytherin girl. "Damn it, I've apologized several times, why did she have to be so stubborn and rude" she thought to herself.
What did she say? Coffee? I haven't seen any coffee. For the first time her eyes went down at her robe and she recognized a dark and wet stain that was hardly recognizable.
Haley could feel directly how she wanted to help her, but then the girl started to continue. Haley was about to walk away. "I can't please her any more, she won't accept my apology, she just keeps on raging" Haley thought but then she was torn out of her thoughts when she heard that the plan journal of one of her friends was ruined.
Haley took a few deep breaths. She would have loved to have just walked on. But she was really sorry about the journal, she felt connected to it in some way, after all she felt enormously attracted to nature herself and her friend should not suffer from what a rude person the girl was. Even if Haley didn't understand why you should be friends with someone like that.
Since Haley was always a bit clumsy and even as a child she often spilled things, her mother taught her a easy spell that can draw moisture from objects. She was not good at it yet but tried her best. She held her wand on the book and then on the robe, muttered the spell and was glad when she could see how a brownish liquid started to pull out and a small puddle accumulated in the corridor. It was not well executed and it could have been better and the book was probably not in the same condition as before, but it should still be usable.
Without saying another word she put her wand away, looked at her face one last time and passed her without saying a word. She left her with the books on the floor but at least she tried to save the journal.

Katie noticed the girl starting to try and help her with the journal. Did she not realize it was beyond saving! And it was HER own fault. At least she recognized that it was important, but still!
It's already ruined Katie snapped, tears welling in her eyes, Even the leather bound cover is permanently stained and shrink and shriveled beyond repair. Katie may be a Slytherin, but she could still be very emotional at times. don't touch it! You ruined it. What would you have done if my books had met the same fate? she asked, verbally challenging her.
She couldn't believe how all this had turned out. Siobhán and her precious notes were ruined and unusable and unsalvageable. The whole day had gone so awry, and She could do nothing to stop the train wreck the day kept spiraling down. Go away you jerk! she spoke softly, but in unmistakable anger. She hated this new girl who thought she could walk in and clumsily bump into her and spill Katie's coffee because she wasn't paying attention to where she was going. I'd hex you if I knew any spells or charms yet. she taunted. She was beyond upset with this girl who's strutted in and ruined everything.

Haley still could not understand how one could behave so impossibly. How was she brought up by her parents? Sure, unfortunately she stumbled into them, but that was not intentional, especially not that the journal had to suffer from it.
Haley tried to help her but this beast was just ungrateful. How could she not be aware that this was an accident? How could she seriously think that it was all Haley's fault? After all she was so stupid and hid the coffee under her robe, what could Haley do?
Haley didn't even respond to the rude words anymore. She didn't even care when she saw the tears coming to her eyes. Haley always felt with other people and felt the need to help, but not at this moment. But that didn't bother her.
Haley found the behavior terribly ridiculous and had to laugh when she started to threaten her. When Haley left, she only looked gloomily behind her and said audibly loud "Oh, just be quiet, crybaby".
In the first moment Haley felt pretty bad when she said that but she didn't let this situation make her feel guilty. This Slytherin girl deserved it. In Haley's eyes she was just a bad person through and through.
Haley hoped that she would never have to see the girl again but was afraid that they would have to see each other again in some classroom session at the latest. She could puke in the beam at that thought.
