A Meeting With Proof PV Kaegen Finished

He heard a all too familiar voice, knew who it was before turning around. That girl, the death witch. But he had come to realize something. It didn't matter. It didn't matter who she was. He wasn't going to try and stop her, he wasn't going to get involved. Fact of the matter was, she had been able to cast diffindo. A spell that was beyond her years. It was illegal to practice spells outside of hogwarts, which meant that she wasn't one of them, she wasn't bound by their limitations. Someone like that was dangerous. If it wasn't that explanation, then the polyjuice drinking Grown witch would also make sense.
Pulling away from that line of thought he remembered more clearly this time. He was not going to get involved, he was not going to mess with her, and he was going to make sure she wouldn't mess with him. He would hide, stay out of range. He wasn't sure what her range was, and it made him a bit nervous. Reaching inside his robe, he discreetly readied his slingshot. Making sure she couldn't see what he was doing. She had said that she came in peace, but could you trust a death witch?

He didn't seem convinced she was there to explain. She drew her wand and tosses it by his feet. "There I have no weapon." Sighing she looked at the ground sad. They both had the same tint to their skin. They were still regrowing blood but Kaegen had it worse. "I know you think I am a death witch, whatever that is but I am going to prove you wrong." She pulled the food out of her bag and sat it on the ground along with her books except the one with diffindo that book was in her hands. "This is the book I read at the table. On that marked page diffindo is breifly mentioned and that was the last word I read before someone asked a question." She sits the book on top of the other books. "These are old text books on spells that belonged to her. I found them on the bookshelf at home." Eri shows a peice of paper. "This is my birth cirtificate and I don't know how you would think I could fake being an eleven year old with out being a metemorhagus." She truly had no clue what polyjuice potions was. Potions was her worst subject. She sat the paper on the rest if the evidence and took a bunch of steps back so he could examine it.

"It's alright, you know. I'm not going to stop you."
His voice, slightly weaker, slightly quieter than it normally was still managed to carry far. He had given up trying to stop this girl, there wasn't any point to it. He could avoid her just fine, he was fast and smart enough. And there was no way he was going to go out of his way to help out the other students. That was a recipe for disaster. And disaster was something Kaegen was hoping to avoid altogether. She could go on wreaking havoc and death if she wanted, as long as it wasn't going to interfere with the little boy's studies all too much. And what on earth was a birth certificate? How would you use it, was it like a binding curse? Would she die if her certificate was ripped?
"What's a birth certificate?"
He was cautious, just in case it wasn't hers. Just in case it was his certificate, or a trap. What if it was blank, and when he touched it it became his and then she had full control over him. Spells and enchantments were horribly complicated and filled with loop holes and hidden strategies. There was no way he was going to get caught by one.

"A birth certificate is a piece of paper stating you are who you say you are. " She said quietly. He seemed a bit distant. Her eyes stared at the ground avoiding him. Frowning she didn't think she could get him to be her friend again. "Eris won't forgive me unless I get you, Adam, Eris, and I back together. Seeing how things are going add Eris to my enemy list." She sighed and thought about leaving and she didn't care if her wand was still on the ground she would just leave it if she left. The brunette continued to glare at the grass like she was burning holes in the grass.

Eri shook her head and decided against leaving. Maybe it wouldn't end so bad. She was on the verge of tears. Trying her hardest to not cry in front of him. Lately, her emotions have gotten the best of her. She never let people see her cry.

The brunette's green eyes sparkled with tiny tears that she wouldn't let fall as she continued to glare at the grass like she was about to kill it. She waited for him to speak to tell her to leave or something like that.

A piece of paper could say that you were who you said you were? Grandfather had always told him that paper could only rarely be trusted. You could write anything on paper and you would never know who really wrote those words. It could just be a bunch of monkeys with a quill. Besides it could be modified with spells or runes or enchantments.
And then she explained. She was on a mission to bring them back together? That was completely impossible. Eris had said that she didn't want to be his friend and now she was sending this girl to bring them back? This was ridiculous, a wild goose chase. Eris had fooled this girl into doing something she didn't even want done. Why would she do that, was it just to send the death witch away for a bit? The girl in front of him was staring at a patch of ground, and Kaegen's eyes darted over to it. What was she even looking at? Was she concentrating on some sort of wordless, wandless spell? His eyes kept moving around, quickly gaining speed but they kept going back to that one patch of grass she was staring at. There had to be a reason behind it.
"You know that Eris just told you to do that to get you to leave for a bit, right?"

Eri shook her head. Not wanting to believe that. She thought Eris really wanted her to patch all of their freindships. Her eyes welled with tears. "I didn't know that. I hoped.. never mind." She shook her head again and took some steps towards the Great Lake staring at the water. She didn't want to cry not in front of anyone. She wanted everyone to think she was strong and not week.

"Eris wouldn't would she?" The brunette walked closer to the Lake and sat down. She tried to hold in her tears but small streaks of water streaked down her face as she looked into the water. "You can leave if you don't want to see me anymore." Her thoughts raced. Why was she even here. Quietly speaking to herself she said, "Maybe if I runaway they won't find me." She had given it some thought. She could walk to hogesmeade, but that was so long away. Maybe she could hide outside near the Lake, but surely she would be found. Then she shook her head and decided against running away. Maybe just hiding but for now she didn't care if Kaegen was still there.

"Kaegen, I was for sure Eris wanted me to patch our friendships. I just wanted to fix everything, but Eris said I was the perfect person and I didn't make a mistake I hurt you on purpose." She shook a bit then spoke a bit quieter. "I don't like people think I'm perfect. I'm not." She threw stones into the water.

He was about to ask what she had hoped for, but stopped short when she said never mind. If someone said never mind, then he didn't mind it. It wasn't all that important anyway. When she took a few steps towards the lake, he moved to the side, still unnaturally smooth and fluid, even in his weakened state. He didn't want her to manage to sidle up on him unawares, that would be suicide.
She half asked him if Eris would actually do something like that. It was an odd question, seeing as he had just provided her his thoughts on the matter.
"Why wouldn't she?"
Then she said that if he didn't want to see her any more he could leave. That idea was a bit ridiculous. They were in the same house, they attended several of the same classes. It wasn't like he could avoid her indefinitely no matter how hard he might try. Besides there was no way he was going to turn his back. That would be like painting a target on his back with the words 'insert death curse here' on it.
"Not likely, unless you shift form again."
How was she expecting to run away and hide? Just leave? Unless she pulled off a death witch trickery spell to make her shift forms, someone was bound to find her. She wasn't exactly stealthy.
"I know you made a mistake. I'm still alive, right? You must have slipped up or something."
He let the comment about the fixing things slide. He wasn't at all curious about what kind of twisted ideals she had deeply rooted in her psyche. What her idea of fixing things was.
"You're obviously not perfect, you failed to kill me. You need to work on your aim."
It was probably not the smartest thing to give advice on how to kill you, but he wasn't going to be caught off guard again, so what did it matter? Besides, she needed it.

"Failed to kill you? I wasn't trying to kill you." Her voice was a bit quiet and shaky. This was unreal she wanted to apologize and here he told her she had tried to kill him. "Change form? What do you mean?" She still had no clue what he meant. 

"I came to apologize and you told me that I missed when I tried to kill you. You were my friend." She still couldn't believe Eris sent her on a wild goose chase. "I would do anything to get our friendships back together." He has no idea how this had affected her. Most Ravenclaw thought of her as a monster so she made friends with the other houses. The brunette walks alone outside at night. She hasn't been caught yet. 

Frowning she stands up and turns around. "If you want to shoot me with the slingshot go ahead. I don't see how life could get worse." Under her breath she mutters or how it could get better. Silently she walks a few steps forward and stops. Her wand is still at his feet so she doesn't have any weapon. She forced a weak smile and waited to see if he would shoot her.

He was pretty confused. Up until this point he had been pretty sure he had her figured. She had tried to kill him but failed and then ran, right? But she had just said that she hadn't tried to kill him at all. Then why fire Diffindo? The answer came to him in an instant.
"So why did you want to maim me?"
That was the only explanation, but her next question was even more strange. And why was her voice so quiet, did she not want to be heard? His eyes darted faster, checking the surrounding area. Why hadn't he noticed them, what kind of spell was she using. He internally grimaced at his shortcomings. It was painfully clear he was only 11 years old, of course he couldn't compare to a death witch. She was speaking quietly to avoid being overheard by someone Kaegen couldn't even find. But they must have still been able to hear the pair, because she asked what he meant by change forms. So she was denying it then, keeping her voice quiet so they couldn't hear anything, but just in case pretending she was a student.
He was her friend? What? When had this happened? He didn't have a single friend, and so far in hogwarts he had made a total of one with Eris, but that turned out to be fake in the end, so realistically it was 0. He would have known if they were friends, right? Or was this still part of the act she was putting on to throw off whoever was lurking nearby?
And then she said he could shoot her with his slingshot. A single word shot like fireworks through his head. 'professors' there was a professor nearby, she was trying to set him up, make him appear the villain. No one wanted to die, it wasn't possible. It was instinct to survive, Kaegen firmly believed that it was in every living thing's nature to want to live. He didn't move his hands, just took a few steps back.
"I think I'll pass."
