History
ReducioLauren grew up surrounded by family(grandmother, parents, and 2 siblings) in the countryside outside of Cardiff. She's been home-schooled her entire life, same with her younger brother and sister, so besides venturing into the city during the summer for farmers markets (their family has a booth every year where they sell honey, bundles of flowers, and bread), she's never really had to spend much time with people outside of my family.
When she wasn't doing work around the house, she would end up chatting with her grandmother over an afternoon tea. They were sometime's joined by Lauren's mam. After tea, she would typically help her mam clean the kitchen before taking a pail of scraps out to feed their chickens. This is typically the only time she'd have to myself during the day--and don't tell her parents but she sometimes took this time to nap in the coop on especially exhausting days--because the rest of the time she would have to keep an eye on one (or both!) of her siblings.
Getting the letter from Hogwarts was startling, but not a total surprise because Lauren's grandmother had always told her that there was a twinkle in her eye that reminded her of a friend she'd had when she was a child. She doesn't really think that she has any special twinkle in her eye, but learning about a school of witchcraft and wizardry might explain why the bees are always calm around her and why her "sticky fingers" have never been caught.
Regarding the farmers markets mentioned earlier it should be noted that she was a bit of a thief. Never anything too serious, but sometimes if she thought hard enough strange things would happen and suddenly she'd be walking away from the sweets booth with candy she didn't pay for. Maybe that's magic. Or maybe it's just her.
Personality
Lauren is kind and patient, but has a mischievous streak. This typically manifests itself in minor occurrences of shoplifting, but can escalate to quite severe practical jokes. To clarify, Lauren's shenanigans never come from a malicious place, but rather because she finds it thrilling. Despite this desire for thrill in some ways, Lauren can also be quite shy and doesn't tend to be someone who reaches out first, but once you're her friend, she'll always be by your side.
Appearance
Lauren has dark brown hair that falls right beneath her shoulders in tight curls. Her eyes are nearly the same color (almost black), but they still manage to be bright and friendly. Lauren's dark skin is lighter than both her hair and eyes, but is still warm and darkens in the summer. Her nails are typically painted a dark green and she usually adorns her fingers with various gold bands. She doesn't have much of a preference regarding the color of clothing she wears, but she loves floral patterns. This girly style is typically juxtaposed by her shoes, which tend to be practical boots or sneakers.
