Her first week in Hogwarts was passing smoothly. Well, not her first week exactly. Not a newbie anymore, the girl was now a second year, and she was quite surprised by the change. It was quite unbelievable to the badger, and she was trying hard to convince herself all these were true.
Finishing her first three days of school, Lindsey found herself making her way to the study room. Actually she didn’t have much homework today —— school hadn’t started yet! She was really relieved when hearing that Hogwarts started the courses on September 7th, which meant, she could have more free time.
The free time should be used in socializing in the badger’s opinion, but not only socializing. Books played a great part in Lindsey’s life, and basically she couldn’t live without it. She had just brought quite a few muggle novels from her home in Kensington, and now the books were lying in her dormitory. Everyday, before going to bed, she would have a cup of tea and enjoy sometime of reading. It was…probably the best time in her life.
And now, she was in the library —— one of her favorite places in Hogwarts. She had always been admiring the numerous books in the library. Imagine living in those books…she couldn’t think further. That would be fabulous. It was a childish dream that she was still dreaming till now.
There she was —— randomly picking a seat, and randomly taking a book. She had picked a book about magical legends in the past —— about the four Hogwarts founders and Merlin. She had been hearing these stories when she was really young, but Lindsey just wanted to know more. More specific and accurate, that was.
The book was quite dull objectively speaking, but Lindsey just enjoyed it. She loved the accuracy of the text, and wished she could write like it as well. The girl was never that creative on works, but she was rather serious —— just right to do these sort of things.
As well as enjoying the book, Lindsey kept an eye out for the people she knew. Who knows? Maybe she could find one or two old acquaintances in the library, since as far as she knew, her friends all loved reading…and studying, maybe.✯ ━━━━━━━━━ ✭ ━━━━━━━━━ ✯

She had been to the Library several times since coming back to Hogwarts for her Second Year. Sometimes she would write in a journal, other times she would grab a book of interest, but each time she would avoid a certain corner that she had once loved so dearly. The fact was she loved it so dearly that she couldn't bring herself to go back because she knew it would flood her with memories but the truth was, flood or not, she was already drowning.
So she slowly made her way back towards the corner where the window rested and the sofa was. Her breath swallowed but she didn't care. She closed her eyes once there and softly began to hum the tune of the song that Clifton had played for her and the two had danced to in that very section of the library. She stood still, allowing the memory to live within her and was glad that her eyes were closed to reminiscence so that tears couldn't fall.
Second Years was starting out terribly hard for her and terribly lonely and she hated it. She liked finding herself in Hufflepuff last year and really coming out to be a ray of sunshine but one couldn't be a ray of sunshine when their days were filled with such darkness in sadness.

MENTIONS | Alexa Mackenzie | Clifton TroublefieldHearing footsteps, Lindsey raised up her head. It was to her delight when she saw the light browned haired girl showed up in front of her. This one, the second year Hufflepuff named Alina was one of her friends during her first year, whom she had a great adventure with. And there were Alexa and Clifton…speaking of her old comrades, she hadn’t seen them for ages. Well, if you don’t count the birthday sleepover at Oxford, which Alina attended as well.
“Alina!” she waved. “It’s so great to meet you! Come, do take a seat.” she made a friendly gesture.
Slowly closing her book, Lindsey turned to her old friend with a smile. “You are doing well?” she asked casually. “And how’s Clifton? I haven’t seen him for a long time…not even in the common room. You know you guys always show up together.” she added. Oh yeah, the young couple…whom nearly do everything together. Everything. She remembered how she had admired Alina and Clifton back in their first year, since they were so merry — and so cute. Imagine having a boy by your side…she could only think of Edmund her dear brother to take up this role.
Still, she smiled brightly at Alina. “It’s…just so great to see you.” she explained, with a little embarrassment. “Can’t believe we are second years now!”
really really sorry for this late, late reply…wouldn’t be that late again XD also Lindsey had no idea that Clifton had left IC, so her question is a bit embarrassing…

Alina looked up at the voice and smiled when she saw it was Lindsey Springhall that called out to her. The two had met last year and had gone on an adventure together and while she considered Lindsey a friend, the two really hadn't much time to connect yet and she hoped that maybe they would become better friends. "Lindsey! Hi!"
She came over toward the girl and sat down, placing her bag at her side and got comfortable. "Second year is quite a change, isn't it?" Harder classwork, more assignments, but on the flip side it was nice not to be new to everything. There was no anxiety over the Welcoming Feast, there was no wrong path to the Great Hall, and she could find the Library and Common Room with no problem at all. Additionally, she now knew a good handful of some of her favorite places to spend her free time within the castle and that was nice.
"There was a point last year that I wasn't sure I'd make it back to Hogwarts for my Second Year. I thought once my father found out I was placed in Hufflepuff he'd withdraw me or something," but that hadn't happened. "As for Clive..." she paused. It was hard to talk about him. "...He didn't make it back. He had some stuff come up and umm, isn't going to Hogwarts anymore." Nor was he part of the wizarding world. Or her world.

Interacting with @Alina Rosier“Indeed, and a great one, I’d say.” pleasantly she answered, regarding Alina’s comment on second year. She had got more homework, which was such a pity. Lindsey got night grades, but homework…well, it would be the best if there were no homework at all. Children should have a fine day running outdoors instead of studying, huh? At least that’s her opinion.
She listened quietly when Alina told her she was concerned that she couldn’t come back to her second year, due to the reason of a “wrong” Hogwarts house. So what’s her father expecting? Slytherin, probably? Since that seemed the only house that could be and always was “expected”. But Hufflepuff was great…even the best house here, that was.
Hey eyes widened with surprise when she heard that Clifton was not coming back anymore. Clifton Troublefield, not coming back to Hogwarts to his second year? Well, that was truly surprising…she had never thought of it. Though, why? Lindsey perceived that it couldn’t be due to some dumb opinions on houses, since Clifton was not from a wizard family, if she hadn’t mistaken? But all in all, he wasn’t here anymore. And Lindsey felt rather disappointed. Both for herself losing an adventure buddy and Alina losing a boyfriend.
“Really, Alina, I feel sorry…” she said softly to the girl. “Sorry for I mentioned this…you must feel very sad…he’s great. I know it.” she gave a kind look at her friend, took a deep breath, and continued. “Let’s talk some other things. Gayer ones.”
Her eyes fell on to the book she was reading. Raising her head up once again, she threw some curls to her back, and started. “So how’s your school work? Know that classes hadn’t started yet, though do you have any things that you are looking forward to? For example, any specific spells or potions?”

"Any of the healing ones, really. At the beginning of last year I got so jealous of the students that came to Hogwarts either with a talent already or with direction in their life, already knowing what they wanted to do. Yet, as the year progressed I found my passion and it's in healing. I don't know whether that's to go on for more schooling and become a healer or just be a nurse but something like that," she smiled, sure of it.
"I've prodded around the Hospital Wing some, hoping to gain some knowledge from our nurse and the elving staff. I've gotten some but I kind of wish I had a family member in the field or something, you know? Someone to provide a bit more guidance. I've gotten a lot of books here at the library on the subject and ordered some by owl."
"What about you?" She didn't really know too much about Lindsey. She knew she came from wealth as she did and she knew she often had a book with her but besides that, she didn't really know all too much about her fellow Hufflepuff. But that's why chats like this were so beneficial. There was always time to strengthen a friendship and she hoped that one could develop there.
