Ileen looked at the sky and shook her head. It was such a nice day, and still, she was exhausted. Every afternoon during the summer camp she had tried to sneak away from the loud and chaotic people in her tent. Even Dee. The young Slytherin highly appreciated some quiet time.
Another book about advanced charms under her arm, she strolled through the campsite. This was part of her daily routine – finding herself a place to read away from all the action. There were already so many events in the evening…
Thinking about the opening event, Ileen frowned. Actually, nothing bad had happened. How refreshing. Even though there was much more drama potential with all the students from the other schools and the Quidditch event coming up. A bunch of sports crazy impulsive people who probably wanted to go at each other's throats. What could possibly go wrong?
If Ileen was completely honest, she was a little curious. She had never talked to students from other schools before and since she had grown up outside of England herself, she felt a strange connection to them. But sadly, no conversation with one of the Durmstrangs had ever taken place. An amused snort escaped her. Or fortunately. Who knew? Perhaps, they were as stupid as most Hogwarts students. Also – what should she actually say to them? She wasn’t interested in Quidditch at all.
Lost in her thoughts, she made her usual way out of the camp and up one of the small hills nearby. There were groups of students sitting in the grass and enjoying the warm summer sun.
Ileen pushed a strand of her long dark brown hair out of her forehead that fell openly down her back today and walked resolutely past the crowds. Although she was only wearing a thin linen shirt with fringes on the sleeves and knee-length jeans, she was already warm and felt the blood rush to her face.
She wiped the back of her hand across her forehead when she finally reached the top of the small hill. It was a lovely spot - her favorite spot in the area to which she had retreated many times lately. You had a wonderful view over the camp and the sunlight that fell through the leaves painted a beautiful pattern on the grass.
As soon as the young Slythiern reached the cool shade, she exhaled in relief and looked around with a smile. Her mood was immediately better, now that she was alone. Even though she thought she was doing quite well to face the events as positive as possible, it was also exhausting.

It was mid-afternoon on a Tuesday and Slava found himself in need of entertainment yet again. There was no activity being held today, so it was a free day, and he was fairly sure his friends were busy, off doing whatever they normally did. Maybe they were hiding from him… either that or he just hadn't looked properly. He wasn't particularly good at that, tending to get distracted or wander off and become interested in something else rather than being consistent with his searches.

Today, he had wandered off up a hill in pursuit of something to keep him busy. There had been lots of people when he arrived, but he chose to skip interacting with them for once in favour of climbing a tree. He had considered practicing a gymnastics routine, but had decided against it purely because there were lots of people around him and it could be dangerous if they came too close or distracted him. At first, he used a branch of a tree like he would bars, hanging from it and swinging in a circle, flipping over the top of it, but he soon got bored and climbed further up. He stood up on the branch and held onto a higher one while leaning forwards, perhaps a little recklessly, to see what was going on down on the ground.

There was a girl underneath the tree he was in. He tried to get a glimpse of her face, but he didn't think that he recognised her. He contemplated which language to use for calling out to her and settled with English—a lot of people seemed to speak it at this event and it was in England, after all. “Helloooooo, you there,” he hollered simply, leaning even further forwards as he grinned. He didn't have a plan of mischief for once. Truthfully, he was just bored and wanted some social interaction and attention.

Ileen had reached her favorite tree and was just ready to make herself comfortable there as someone called her out. Since the young girl had expected to be alone, she flinched and turned around to search for the source of the unfamiliar voice. Only when she could not find one near the ground, she heard the rustling in the treetop and looked up.
Then she discovered the fuzzy shock of hair that was sticking out between the branches and belonged to a boy who was bending forward in a precarious way. A cheeky smile curled his lips and his eyes were sparkling in excitement – something that reminded the young Slytherin of her best friend and automatically earned him sympathy points.

A little worried she blinked against the sun and then shaded her eyes with one hand. She had definitely never seen this boy before, but this was not the first time something like that happened to her. The last experience she had made in such a situation was also the reason why she was worried. It looked rather reckless what he was doing and the last time she had met someone here, he had fallen right off the tree.

Hello up there,” she friendly greeted back and frowned. “What are you doing up there?” Had she recognized an accent in his greeting? Was this perhaps one of the Durmstrang students? Even though she had intended to avoid social interaction, she was also curious. But before she would introduce herself, it was important that he would not fall.
Prepared to address her concerns, she stepped closer to the tree, tilted her head and put her hands in her hips with a dry smile on her lips. “Better watch out. This tree has turned out to be extremely slippery.” She actually did not want all the people she discovered in trees to mutate into windfall.

The girl had heard him and had responded, causing Slava's grin to expand a little more. She asked what he was doing up there. “What are you doing down there?” he returned, but there was no malice in his snark and he winked at her to confirm that. Whether she could see it or not was unable to be determined, considering that he was pretty high up by now. Still leaning forwards, he thought about her warning, lifting a hand up to his chin in a gesture to show "how deep in thought" he was. “I always watch out,” he insisted, removing his hand from his chin and waving it dismissively, a hint of mischievousness in his tone.

An impish grin was visible as he processed what she had said. If the tree was known to be slippery, then it would make it even more impressive if he could stay on, right? It was a challenge, and Slava loved challenges. He gave an experimental little bounce on the branch, flashing a smirk at the girl on the ground. He was still standing up, his hands clinging tightly to the branch above him as he bounced, hopping from one foot to another. The young boy was very foolish, but at least he was having fun while it lasted.

Ileen arched on eyebrow in response to the sassy but friendly counter of the young boy who was standing in the tree like a monkey. The corners of her mouth curled into a cheeky smile and she had to fight the urge to stick out her tongue at him. Usually, she climbed trees to make herself comfortable hidden behind the leaves as far away from the ground as possible, so she could relate to that. Climbing trees was on her daily to-do-list and she felt a wave of sympathy for the foreign boy. “Fair point.” She didn’t make an attempt to do it this time though. The feeling from her own feet slipping and almost falling down was still to present. “I am trying to escape from chaotical situations. And you? Hunting owls?” She couldn’t help but chuckle and her dark brown eyes were curiously fixed on the Durmstrang.

But well, obviously there was no escape of chaotical situations after all…. When the boy suddenly had the stupid idea of jumping around on the branch with only one leg, her smile turned into an incredulous shock. Was he trying to proof something? Or was he like the stupid kids who you told that they were not allowed to do something and then they wanted it even more? Well – for sure he was a quidditch player – risky and impulsive. Ileen couldn’t barley hold back a indignant snort.
To express her disapproval, she tapped her chin in an overly thoughtful manner and mirrored his expression from before. “Fair warning, if this branch breaks, I will laugh first and help you after.” It would be well deserved but still she didn’t want him to get hurt in the first place – and he looked like a crazy monkey even more.
Torn between worry and amusement, she watched his hopping and crossed her arms. “Take care. Or at least tell me your name so that I know whose dramatic injury I may proclaim afterwards.
