Ticktack voice of his watch broke the silence in the compartment, which Walter and two other boys sat, during the journey to Hogwarts. Actually, the train was chuffing loudly, however, because of it was steady they did not perceive it as an extra noise. Compartment mates of the Walter were sleeping deeply and this situation made him a little bit happy. Walter felt bored by reason of their endless chat about the best house of the Hogwarts history. Black-haired boy with blue eyes was defending Gryffindor that even the founder of the lions would not do that much.

As these thoughts passed through his mind, the door of the compartment was opened sharply. But this opening was not enough to waking up the sleeper boys. Middle-aged woman who pushed a wheelbarrow asked to Walter if he wanted anything. While he was looking the top row where he sat, the woman looked like very impatient to go and finish her job. Since he was not sure, he said he didn't want anything to keep her from waiting any longer. Although he did not buy anything, he still thought about eating something sweet.

A few seconds after the woman closed door Walter got up and tried to catch up with her. As soon as he got out of the compartment he saw the woman walking a few meters ahead. Meanwhile he saw a tall girl with blonde hair was coming from opposite direction toward him. Both Walter and girl completed their steps at the same time to wheelbarrow and started to talk with saleswoman. Their words intermingled each other and suddenly both of them silenced angrily. This time, Walter spoke to the girl instead of the woman. “Sorry, eh, but I came first.” He smiled and continued. “I'll buy something if you let me”.

Tired. This is how Heather felt right now- her excitement at the thought of a new school year was missing; the only thing the blonde Ravenclaw was able to think about was how much she wanted to sleep like a normal child again. She was sick of staying up each night until the early hours of the morning, looking at the walls and trying her damn hardest to get some rest. This was the exact same case now, since the previous night she didn't get to sleep at all. That surprised her a bit, since usually, she slept at least one or two hours. But, it seemed like the emotions at the thought of a new year affected her more than she believed to.
It couldn't even be considered a new beginning since the girl didn't graduate to the next year. No, she was still a first-year, while her friends all were, officially, her upperclassmen. Probably, that was the cause of her internal fear- what if she didn't get along with her new classmates?

Huffing, Heather groaned and closed her eyes once more. She sat in silence, hoping to get at least an hour of rest, when her stomach suddenly let out an embarrassingly loud sound. Sitting up straight, the Ravenclaw sighed. Well, instead of moping around and wailing the death of her sleep schedule, the least Heather could do for herself was to go and eat something. Standing up, she wandered towards the door of the compartment. She wasn't sure where the lady with the food actually was, but she supposed that searching for the woman could take her mind off her problems.

Now, Heather didn't consider herself a lucky child, but seeing the exact person she'd been searching for just as she opened the door was a really pleasant surprise. With large steps, Heather rushed towards the lady, already thinking about what should she buy. Candies? No, as much as she loved sweets, they didn't help with her hunger at all. A sandwich? Too plain. Sushi? She doubted that the lady would have it. Well, the girl decided, the best option would be to settle for a traditional British dish, and just hope that I like it. Heather was a picky eater, and while she liked the food she ate at Hogwarts, she couldn't help but compare every meal with her favorite Italian dishes. That was one thing of the many she missed about her old home.

Too lost in her culinary dilemma, Heather didn't notice a boy reaching up to the cart at the same time as her. Actually, she didn't even realize that someone else was there until she heard another voice speaking over her own order. Stopping abruptly, she suddenly locked eyes with an unknown kid, who seemed just as annoyed as her. “Sorry, eh, but I came first.”, he said, before continuing. “I'll buy something if you let me”.
Raising an eyebrow, Heather took a few moments to process his words. But, when she finally did, she let out a small laugh.

"Don't worry, you'll be able to order... After I buy something myself. I'm starving," Heather replied, letting out a sympathetic smile. The kid seemed like a nice one, but the blonde was tired and hungry- and as nice as she usually tried to act, the truth was that Heather had a temper. And it didn't take long to anger her, especially when she wasn't fine at all.

After the words Walter said, he thought that the girl with blonde hair would not try to intervene again between the saleswoman and him. He shifted his eyes towards many kinds of food located on the row of the cart. He was thinking exactly what to choose when he heard her voice again. “Don't worry, you'll be able to order... After I buy something myself. I'm starving,” WHAT? After she bought something herself? Walter was still tried to be sensible of her recent utterances. Was she joking? But she did not seem like joking with her pesky smile. One of the things that Walter never accept is clearly being wronged. As if that wasn't enough, the girl was speaking like she was right.

The boys who sat in the compartment with, the girl who was as sniffy as the owner of the world… What a disappointing journey to Hogwarts. He was not pleasant with the situation but he was supposed to snub her. Otherwise, Walter could throw himself off the train with this rage growing inside him. When he got angry, he would move his hands either to his face or to his hair and play somewhere involuntarily. While doing a similar movement, he took a deep breath and tried to relax.

Just before, the girl was smiling to him with unlikable attitude, but now Walter had a very serious mood. It was easy to understand how angry he was when he had fire in his eyes. After he got up his words in his mind, he felt ready to speak with her. “I don’t know if you were a princess or something like that before, but from now everybody on this train is equal each other.” It could be easily understood from his words that he thought the girl tried to take his turn, so to speak.

During their argument was continuing, the lady between them looked like exhausted. Without doubt she wanted to finish her duty as soon as possible. Probably she thought that the debate would not end, so she intervened. “Kids, please stop. How about to compromise?” Maybe she was right. Walter is not an unsympathetic and stubborn person. Nevertheless, Walter quickly answered. “You are right madam. It’s time to end this. May I take four pieces of pumpkin pasties?” He was not sure what to purchase when he sat on his compartment, but now the first thing got his attention was pie with pumpkin filling and pumpkin shape.

Truth to be told, now Heather felt bad. While to her it was obvious that she had arrived first at the cart, maybe this kid actually didn't see her there, as difficult as it was to believe that she was hard to notice. Heck, she was taller than the cartwheel lady! Either way, her little outburst made her sure of one thing: Over the summer Heather had changed, and for worse. She didn't know where did this hot-headed side come from, and she didn't want to find out. But, even though she couldn't control her feelings, the Ravenclaw could try to be nicer. So, she supposed, buying something for the boy as a treat would surely mend their relationship! Right?

Just as the blonde opened her mouth to ask the boy what he wanted to buy, she heard him speak. “I don’t know if you were a princess or something like that before, but from now everybody on this train is equal to each other.” With a tilt of her head, Heather raised an eyebrow. What did he mean? At first, thanks to her fatigue, his words made little to no sense, but soon the girl understood what the boy had insinuated. Did he really think that she was the mean one there?! True, Heather wouldn't deny that she had been a bit too harsh, but she was the one who arrived first at the cartwheel, she had the priority to order after all! So why did this kid act like she was wrong? The nice gesture she had wanted to just seconds ago was long forgotten.

"Look, I'm sorry for making you think that I act superior, okay? I just-- I'm not even obsessed about manners that much, but right now I really have arrived here first, so I might order as well." Heather replied, pointing at herself. Then, she turned to the seller, who seemed to be really impatient. Biting her lip, the girl wondered what to buy, thinking that the child finally understood her. Suddenly a voice interrupted her thoughts again, though: "May I take four pieces of pumpkin pasties?”

Widening her eyes, Heather turned towards the boy once more. Did he really ignore her? Well, the Ravenclaw was the stubborn kind, so she wouldn't back away from an argument so easily. Clearing up her throat, the girl spoke. "Excuse me, but I was just about to get the same thing." She wasn't, but she wasn't set on something else either, and suddenly some pie sounded just right.

"Miss- how many pieces of pumpkin pasties do you have? Actually, nevermind- I'll just take them all." Smiling sweetly at the kid, Heather forced herself to smile.

"What can I say? I have an appetite. I'll give you some pie too, though- If you act nice, okay?"
