Flying was always a nice class for Lindsey. It was said that they would be finally actually flying in second grade, and Lindsey felt a great pleasure.

Quidditch was something she would love to do. Joining the summer game against Durmstrang, though she’s not officially on the team, Lindsey felt it as interesting. She would get on the team sometime…as a Chaser, or a Beater.

As she was thinking of joining the team in the future, Lindsey was in good mood. She was usually in, yeah, but today was especially good. That was, until she saw him.

-Why would Slytherins have flying class with Hufflepuffs together??

She had some friends in Slytherin, and they, surprisingly, all gave her great accompany and spent a good time with her. Except him. Henry.

During her first year, she met this lad in a Charms class. Annoying, and a coward, she never liked him. Lindsey tried to avoid him for the rest of her first year, and somehow, she succeeded. The rest encounters with Slytherins were all pleasant, and she soon forgot about him. This tall, skinny guy had already walked out of her head, but that was until now, when he came back.

Should I go over? thought Lindsey. Maybe not. By all means Henry was not her friend. And it would be difficult to talk to him using his first name, which was embarrassing.

Imagine she went over and say, “hello Henry, how are you doing?” Huh. So embarrassing, to say this to a coward. Should she expect him stutter again? That’s very likely. Again, she never liked him.

To the young badger’s surprise, her feet carried her away by themselves. And, now, she found herself standing in front of Henry.

Damn feet. she cursed in her head. Why, was she presented in front of him? She just wanted to walk away coldly, but however, even an idiot could perceive that she’s going to talk. Lindsey suddenly remembered that how Henry played her as a fool in their first year. And she even accompanied him to play a dumb game. How foolish she was at that time, but now, this Lindsey was completely different. Or at least she thought so.

“Oh, hello——” she suddenly stopped. Call him Henry? No way. But it’s really a pity she did not know his last name. Or she could speak it out loud haughtily. So what should she call him now…?

Her chocolate brown eyes fell on Henry’s robes. And his green and silver tie. Green, lean…a smile turned up on her lips. She had an idea.

“——grasshopper.” she said haughtily. “How are your days? Have you gotten a girlfriend yet?”

Her tone was teasing, and proud. Lindsey smirked in her heart, and waited for a reply. A proper one, instead of walk away, of course.

Henry has always enjoyed flying and not because he like it, be enjoyed the class because his mum was a quidditch star. She was one the ravenclaw team during her time at Hogwarts as a chaser and she was incredible, Henry actually was trying out for the team just for her and also because his siblings say that he got her hidden talent for quidditch something that Henry chose not to see. The only good news is that Slytherin's and hufflepuff's were together for class and while Henry had almost no friends in his own house, slytherin. His best friend; Logan Baird was a hufflepuff and be couldn't wait to fly with her even through she didn't much like flying.

While Henry looked for the girl, he heard a familiar voice all of a sudden right next to him and when he turned to see who it was; he rolled his eyes with annoyance. The girl was Lindsey and she was the only hufflepuff who Henry didn't take pleasure in speaking to which was odd since most of his friends were in hufflepuff. Henry however had changed during the summer and he gained in confidence but he still had a stutter, his stutter however barley broke out unless he was really anxious. Which hardly happened even with his new hidden life and also him isolating himself with his thoughts in other words he didn't want to be speaking to Lindsey right now.

Henry thought about walking away but after hearing this girl call him grasshopper which had multiple meanings that Henry knew because he was a geek. She also spoke in a matter of factly or high class manner which boiled Henry's blood a bit so he replied in a not caring sort of way, " oh, Hello Snake," since Henry thought she was a better slytherin than hufflepuff as he continued " how have you been? Actually yes I do have an ravenclaw girlfriend for a matter of fact. What about you? Are you still proud and lonely?"

Henry let a sly smiled escape his lips but rolled his eyes to say he rather not speak with her and should have just walked away but didn't for some reason.

Snake? Then let it be. At least it was better than grasshopper.

“Thank you for the nickname.” she answered, smiling. Sometimes they say the best way to make your opponent to be embarrassed is to be generous. Just like what she was doing. “It’s cool. I like it.”

Did she like it? No. She wanted to be a peaceful badger. Just a badger, not a snake. Though being Slytherin was indeed cool…

“And, congratulations to you on finally not being alone.” She said in a teasing tone again. “She’s a Ravenclaw, huh? Seriously, grasshopper, how could you date a smart birb at the age of twelve? I feel concerned and really sorry for the poor girl.” she laughed. “No, maybe it’s not like that——is she blind, by the way? No I guess, right?”

She stopped a bit, and then continued. “If she’s not blind, and accidentally someone like me believes in the decision of the sorting hat——” followed by a wink. “So, tell me grasshopper, did you have to bribe her? How much did you pay?”

The words were mean. And she knew it. First time ever be so mean. But he irritated her, and that was what she would do if getting…hurt.

Was she?

She did not know, seriously. But Lindsey guessed she was. Except the dear Miss Sport Star, she had never be so sarcastic——well she wasn’t that sarcastic at that time when talking with the Cricket Mercury. That was days ago…and she did not mind meeting her again, actually. Maybe she was not that bad.

But this one was totally different. She would probably not forgive him. He called her a snake, and she disliked it. And he regarded her as proud and lonely.

Her blood came up high to her brain. She felt her whole body burning, and her blood was boiling. “Yeah, I am indeed proud. But I have friends. Do you, by any chance, know Lizzie, Marshal, Leonard, Cash, Lucia, Alina, May, and many others? I’m not listing my acquaintances. Too many of them, I have to say.” She said haughtily. “And I know why you are actively seeking yourself a girlfriend. Because you don’t have any friends.”

Hearing Lindsey speak would usually upset him but right now he was just annoyed as he already had too much on his mind with his hidden life and family that he snapped back " she is not blind and I didn't pay her, she unlike some can experience how great of a person and friend I am and now how great of a boyfriend I am." Henry wasn't going to say anything else but he felt annoyed and wasn't thinking so he just snapped " and that's rich coming from you, from your looks and brains I can't imagine anyone wanting to date you. It will be like dating a annoying Cricket who's always up your ass."

Henry remained calm and kept a blank face, that was the second time he just spoke without thinking which was starting to frighten him because usually he had great control over his words and would have never speak like that or speak at all. He was one of the kindest people ever but when face with a few certain people he couldn't control himself and just spoke which was horrible since he was afraid that new habit was going to get him into trouble. As Lindsey finished speaking about friends, Henry couldn't stop but think how he said Cricket which reminded him of his friend cricket who he haven't spoke or seen to since the beginning of their second year.

Henry pushed the thought away as he spoke " funny enough all of your friends are also my friends besides Leonard Oaksworth who is a fellow slytherin who like you I somehow don't get along with. Which I can now see why you two get along so well snake," Henry gave a sly smile before continuing " I also have many, many more friends for example; Cricket, Logan, Charles, Altair, Aurélie and lots... and loads more." Henry then gave Lindsey a smile before saying without thinking again which frighten him a bit " moving away from inane chitchat, to more important manners. I think flying will began soon and I can't wait to show you how better I have than you on a broomstick."

@Lindsey Springhall sorry for the wait, and sorry if Henry sounds a but mean.

She remained silence when Henry spoke. Sometimes silence was the best opponent. That was, until he insulted her.

Why did he say things that were so harsh? She did not say a single bad words herself. Maybe it was mean, but definitely not harsh. Merlin could check it, and she believed that he would have the same result with her. She did not deny the smartness of his girlfriend. Her harshest words might be “you do not have any friends”, but that was definitely not harsh at all compare to his. It was not a mean talking anymore. It was an insult.

She wanted haughtily saying something sarcastic. Lindsey could do it easily, but which meant she would be someone unmannered and rude like him. No, she was never that sort of people like him. It’s time to show it. Though furious at the moment, she somehow remained calm——at least you could not identify anything from her expressions.

“You have successfully insulted me, sir. What’s worth, you have insulted my friends. You touched my bottom line, and I could not bear it anymore. Quarreling back with you is useless and a waste of time.” She made a gesture. “So I’m going to leave and return to my own lesson properly. This time, it’s a farewell though——we would probably not see each other again. We are done.” Then she turned, ignoring the boy’s comment on riding brooms.

She wanted to laugh again. Riding brooms? God knows that she attended the Durmstrang match as a beater. Since she was on the Quidditch team, well nearly, she was definitely better than him. But again, it’s useless to quarrel.

Lindsey turned back to the boy. She decided to leave a final note.

“I might forgive you, but I would never forget. Again, farewell.”

Then she took a step forward, and walked straightly to the yellow robes corner——better leave this snake alone.

So I’m willing to explain this a bit. Lindsey never liked insults, and I think she could bear if Henry only insulted herself, but he actually said things bad of Leonard. Leonard and Lindsey are of good terms, and the girl really like him. As a result, she would find Henry rude, and decided that they would never be people on the same road together. If you think Henry would like to drag her and apologize (or sort things out together), you could stop Lindsey. If Henry would be getting back to the Slytherins too, you could post your interaction and get this thread finished. Though, if your interaction would be the latter, I would send you an owl about my thoughts of how their relationship would be in the future. The owl would be sent after you replied.

When the misplaced snake spoke, Henry couldn't help but laugh did she know that she also insulted him and said some pretty mean things that if Henry wasn't going through his own problems at the moment then he would have taken them to heart or dwell on them a bit more but lucky for him he had his own problems to deal with about his hidden life and family so he wouldn't be dwelling in the misplaced snake hurtful or insulting words anytime soon. However that didn't mean that Henry couldn't let this misplaced snake know her place and what she did and said so Henry spoke " so you can give out insults but can't take them, just so you know snake what you said to me was much worse a insult and meaner than what I said to you. The only difference is I don't care what insults you say to me since you option about me means nothing, you on the other hand must take everything to heart and over react."

When the misplaced snake spoke again before making her leave, Henry had a shock expression on his face
Why should he apologize, that girl said much more hurtful things to him and insulted him way worse so if anyone should apology then it's her and not him. Still Henry couldn't lie, he was glad that the girl was gone since she was mean and quite a bully in Henry's mind as he spoke to her in a loud enough way so she could hear " I have nothing to apologize for, you on the other hand do have something to apologize for. So same thing toward you, I never forget and I might forgive."

The one who harmed her asked for an apology.

Insane. Insane. Insane. Insane. Insane.

She hadn’t even asked him for one——it was him that said words harsher than her. She had a perfect memory, and knew that he had doubted on her looks and brain. If you want a girl to be insulted, feel free to question her face and her head. That was what exactly he did. So…insane.

Yeah, angry was not a word to describe her emotion now anymore. It was more of…sad. She remembered during summer, when she asked Marshal whether she was friendly or not, and he told her that she was one of the best people firmly. Time had changed…her heart sank.

Though something must be mentioned. Now although she hated Henry, she somehow estimated him. He was not a coward anymore like during first year, and who had a terrible stutter. This lad had grown, into one that could insult others easily. Seemed that he was making progress as well.

Not knowing how she had came over with this, she raised up her head. One could never beat Miss Springhall down. No one, even if it’s Merlin himself. By all means, she was calm, and full of strategies. Now the strategies should begin. Fist versus fist was not useful. Now soft pillows should come. Henry probably would not be the pillow first, but she could.

“Okay, okay, if all you want is an apology, I could give you.” she said with a smile. “Sorry for saying you girlfriend might be blind, you might have to bribe her, and you might don’t have any friends, alright?”

That was the first step of being soft. To be frank, after doing an “apology”, she wasn’t furious anymore. Maybe that’s how human mind was built, she did not know. But saying that, she now was fully confident that she did nothing wrong. Which made her feel relaxed and relieved.

“Now I owe you nothing. I know myself owes nobody things. And that’s enough. I don’t need other’s opinions, because I am confident that I am not wrong anymore.”

She didn’t want to leave the place anymore. The class hadn’t started yet, and she was curious what he would do. It seemed that he would not apologize. She had already had a clear mind what she would say back if he said that it’s something she should do and he should not. Maybe like this?

—— “By the way, don’t you feel sorry for saying that I am proud and alone, from my looks and brains no one would want to date me, Leonard is awful as well, and my flying skills are bad? Comparing with what I have said, I don’t think I’m that bad. However, I still have apologized. Or, is it only the great good Henry the King could get apologies from others, while others just couldn’t. Because the great Henry did not, and could not do anything wrong. Only humble ones like us could.” [These words were not spoken out.]

She had made up her mind. She would definitely not be leaving the place. Standing still, she folded her arms with a friendly smile. “Now you may punch me, kick me, hex me, jinx me, it’s all up to you. I would not do anything back. I would forgive everything you do.”

Still, some explaining. I’ve read through all the posts again, and I have found that Henry had insulted Lindsey four to five times. While Lindsey did it about two or three times. Objectively speaking, the harshest words Lindsey had said was that Henry did not have any friends. However Henry insulted her looks, especially her IQ, which is quite unacceptable to her. So there came her reactions. She had a perfect memory, and every words that he had said was carved into her heart, and harmed her deeply. Maybe she would even have a cry after this thread had taken place.

And my girl is full of strategies. From the apology part, it’s based on my real life experience. When you became soft first, the other one probably would as well. I don’t know whether Henry’s character would, however IRL it’s like that. I don’t really want this to become an enemy like relationship, and I do believe Lindsey still want to become friends with him deep in her heart, though she would deny all of it at first until he showed the willingness too.

Last—sorry for this long post!

Henry thought he could back to thinking about his hidden life and family but Lindsey came back and said something that was sort of like a apology in which Henry was both shocked and at a lost for words as he heard her speak again about owing him nothing and that she doesn't need opinions from others. Even through Henry would never admit it, he sort of admired the girl's confidence and flair but nevertheless the boy would also do his part as he spoke " alright then I to apology if I insulted your intelligence and looks. And even through I still don't really like him, I apology if I might have insulted your slytherin friend; Leonard."

After he also said his apology he was ready to leave and isolate himself again to think and dwell on his hidden life and family but Lindsey spoke again which delay this some more, when she finished however he frown a bit while saying "I don't wish or want to hurt you Lindsey, uh I mean snake," he never liked violence and the two never got along well but he still wouldn't like to see her injured as he continued " I actually don't perfer violence or physically hurting someone but what's the harm in completing to better our knowledge," whenever he knew it or not he officially found himself a rivalry, academic rivalry as he spoke " now do you want to take to the sky's?"

So her plan had worked. Good.

Honestly speaking, she didn’t particularly dislike this boy. Just…sorta of she couldn’t agree with him. But now if he apologized…it’s another thing. Still, Lindsey couldn’t like him that much. Her feelings towards him was quite neutral now, but at least, it wasn’t that negative like before. Maybe one day this boy would do something that made her regain the confidence in him. Now, this was more like an acquaintance that you have met several times and didn’t really have make up a right decision on them.

Though. He kept calling her a snake. Damn.

It’s Springhall. Thank you.” she said calmly. “Do I have the pleasure to know yours?” she wanted to say “ I don’t like to call others grasshopper unless I have no choice”, but finally she didn’t speak it out. Sincerely she hoped this speech could not throw the boy back to a violent situation. He said he didn’t like violence. Well, maybe he didn’t like. But certainly he’s one of the masters of language violence.

Take to the sky? Sounds fun. Lindsey had always been a fan of Quidditch. Recently after the tryouts she had made herself to the position of second string beater. Lindsey had always loved the position of beater. Though after the Durmstrang match, she had to rethink about her choice. Was it bad to bludger others? Was it right, by all means? She didn’t know, and now the girl was quite confused.

Though she still loved flying. Grabbing her brand new Nimbus 1700, which was a birthday gift to her from her uncle Andre. He always knew his niece had a love for flying. And there it was —— sending to Kensington by several owls. Lindsey once thought it was just a Comet 180, though it came as a Nimbus 1700. She was very surprised, and now, seemed that it was a good time to take off.

She soon kicked off. The feeling of flying was great…or, fantastic. She was swimming in a sea of sky and clouds. She swam through them, through the waves. It seemed that she could defeat everything. Yes, everything.

Lindsey didn’t know whether Henry had caught up or not. But she didn’t care. She was up high there, enjoying her own freedom. That was enough.

Henry didn't dislike the girl, in fact he sort of liked having someone who shared his liking for academics and intelligent even through the two seemed to bicker or compare each other about certain classes or lessons, it was still nice to have someone who enjoyed academics and intelligent with and even through Henry won't admit it or didn't know at the moment their was a tiny, microscopic even piece of him that liked Lindsey which may grow after a certain experience or two but before that it still felt almost like meeting a acquaintance, a acquaintance whom he met a few times before and while acted friendly sometimes, other times things would lead to a rivalry, a academic rivalry.

When Lindsey spoke her last name and then asked his, that sort of got to him since he was still hiding his hidden life and family from everyone and at the moment preferred not to be related to either family, to not have his surnames that question made Henry think for a while. When after a bit, he would finally say " good to know, but what if we just stick to first names instead Lindsey."

Henry watched her grab her broom which was a nimbus 1700, a broom that Henry sort of envy because he would use a school broom since his father refused to buy him one believing that the boy would injured himself or misuse it, especially now after everything that had happened Henry doubted he would get a broom until he was 17 or 18 or something like that but no matter he was still certain that he could keep up with Lindsey.

Henry grabbed a school broom and mounted it before kicking off and soaring into the air, he did always have a soft spot for the sport in his heart probably because his mother was on the ravenclaw team when she was a student there and ever since he died, Henry felt flying brought him closer to her however he wasn't on the slytherin team probably because Henry was still a bit to anxious to tryout since be sort of accidently and awkwardly messed up his tryout.

Henry however was thinking about that as he flew high and high until he was a bit higher up then Lindsey or he thought before saying to her " your not bad on a broom," Henry gave her a smile before saying again " but can you keep up?" As Henry finished his sentence, he sped away at high speeds toward the end of the castle hoping that Lindsey wasn't far behind.
