Pass the Biscuits
The Great Hall was bustling as ever.
The smells wafted up. Fresh biscuits, tea, pancakes, and other such lovely things were filling her nose, and Elyse couldn't help but laugh at her stomach as it growled in anticipation for the incoming food she was about to give it. She'd not been feeling well all through the previous night, so she'd skipped out on dinner in favour of going to bed early. As such, she felt refreshed but utterly starving this morning, so to the Great Hall she went, eager to fill herself with something delicious.
She wasn't disappointed by what was spread out for them, either. So much to choose from! Excitedly, she filled her plate and began to eat, her green eyes glancing around the entirety of the Hall to take in all the noise and sights. It truly was magnificent that she was here, at Hogwarts, about to live her dream education, not unlike her parents and family members before her. Now if only she could find a familiar face in the crowd. That would make breakfast a little more livelier.
Either way, she was content. Tucked under her arm was a book, so she set it out on the table, lucky enough to have some elbow room. Opening it, she turned to the page she'd been reading and resumed her spot there, all while popping a warm biscuit in her mouth.

Pass the Biscuits

When Allie stepped into the Great Hall at Hogwarts, the noise and smells were quite overwhelming. There seemed to be millions of students chatting to one another in the large room, and Allie couldn't recognize a single face amidst all the chaos. Biting her bottom lip, Allie set out across the room to the table that seemed the most empty, way in the back. Although she usually liked talking with others, Allie still hadn't gotten completely used to the fact that there could be so many people in one place at a time. Since the Great Hall was so crowded, it took a while for her to actually get there, and once she did she was just relieved to finally sit down.
Setting her bag full of books on the bench next to her, Allie was finally noticed the other person sitting at the table. It was a girl with red hair, and she had her nose buried in a book. She was also eating a biscuit from a platter on the table in front of her. There was something familiar about her. . . after a few moments, everything clicked into place and Allie smiled at the girl. "Hi Elyse," she said, hopefully loud enough to be heard over the noise.
Allie had run into Elyse a little while ago during the night. They had both gotten out of their beds past curfew, each for different reasons. But they had talked for a while, and had also almost gotten caught. . . Shivering slightly at the memory, Allie made sure to keep her smile from slipping off her face. Hoping to distract herself while waiting for Elyse to respond, she took a biscuit from the plate in front of her and took a small bite.
