It was the second day back at Hogwarts and Amara woke up way to early. She is now past her phase of fear surrounding the Great Hall at mealtimes and decided that today, she would sit with at least one new person. As Amara walked out of the Slytherin common room, she saw another early riser, Icarus Stable, on his way to breakfast too. They made simple small talk as they walked in together but Amara was surprised to see that he followed her to a table. Sitting there already was a younger-looking Hufflepuff boy and an older looking girl of the same house.

Amara walked up to them and waved, "Hello there, would it be okay if I join you?" Icarus echoed the question as the two badgers smiled and nodded.

Amara sat down next to the girl, and across from Icarus who sat next to the boy. "My name is Amara, Amara Dragamior." The second year introduced herself as she helped herself toa large plate of french toast. Amara cut into the custurdy bread and let out a soft groan, "Lord, I forgot how good this food was." she mumbled, adding a few peices of crispy bacon onto her overflowing plate.

Permission to godmod Matrix given
The first week at school was always pleasant. Not too much homework, and a huge opportunity to meet new friends.
Lindsey got up early on the second day of school. She walked out of her dorm, and soon met Matrix——an old friend of hers. They had briefly met yesterday, and Lindsey asked him to have breakfast together.
Hogwarts’s breakfast was always great. Maybe adorable, since the food offered was simply fascinating. She put a piece of bacon in her mouth. Still the good old taste like last year.
While she was enjoying her meal, Lindsey heard someone talking to them. “Hello there, would it be okay if I join you?”
It was a boy, who looked same age as her. And there were also a girl waving. The two seemed all Slytherins, at least their ties showed so.
Not like some people, to Lindsey, Slytherins were always good and kind. Look at Gerald, Noah, Nick and Leonard! All of them made a good impression in the badger’s heart, and she believed these two would soon make the same impressions.
“Oh of course!” she smiled to them.
The girl introduced herself as Amara Dragamior. A nice name, really.
“I’m Lindsey.” she said. “Lindsey Springhall. You two are both second years, if I’m not mistaken?”

Sleep, just like the summer between semesters, was a fleeting pleasure that seemed to disappear within a blink of an eye. The shadows of exhaustion that hung below the gaunt boy's eyes stubbornly remained despite his best attempts to wash them away with a few splashes of icy water to the face. Looking in the mirror, Icarus hardly recognized the figure that stared back at him with its face twisted in contempt and exhaustion. The reflection was a stranger with his face for Icarus no longer knew himself. His identity was trapped within a labyrinth with thick hedges of doubt and insecurity leading him to dead-ends and further away from freedom. Like ships passing in the night, they parted ways without a word as Icarus shrugged on his robe and left the peaceful asylum of the dorm.

Icarus found a familiar face among the sea of first year Slytherins scattered about the common room, Amara, he learned after an introduction. The two left the common room together, striking up a conversation that lasted until the pair found themselves at the Great Hall's entrance. Normally, the boy would've parted ways to join the other green and silver clad students that huddled around a table snickering to themselves, but instead decided to join the girl on a search for a table. He usually clung to familiarity and the safety it often brought but today was hardly usual. Like a puppy, his footsteps followed after Amara as she approached a table with a pair of Hufflepuff students who had already begun to dig into the breakfast feast.

"May I join as well?" The Slytherin managed a small smile as he echoed Amara's question, his scowl softening as his lips turned upwards in the slightest way and revealed his rarely seen dimples. After his question was answered with a returned smile and an invitation to sit from the Hufflepuff girl, Lindsey, the Slytherin sat beside the Hufflepuff boy who had yet to introduce himself. "Icarus. It's a pleasure to meet you both." The green-clad boy made his introduction, his mouth nearly watering as he stabbed the slabs of french toast with a fork and plopped them down on his plate to be drowned in a sea of syrup. "Aye, we're both second years. It feels as though the first time I walked through these doors was merely a second ago and now second year has already begun." Icarus mused as he scooted a small piece of french toast towards the pool of syrup that had accumulated in the middle, his Scottish accent becoming more apparent in his exhausted state.
