Boat Journey, First Years. Closed

It was dark as the train pulled into the station Hogsmeade. Cherri had only changed into her robes a short while ago.
"FIRST YEARS FOLLOW ME!."
Cherri could not see who the voice belonged to but none the less she walked towards the sound with the rest of the first years remembering to maintain her composure at all times. Cherri saw the beautiful lake as she began climbing down serval flights of stone stairs maintaining her etiquette walk. The castle of Hogwarts stood beyond the lake and at the lake's edge stood serval lines of boats. Cherri walked to the water's edge, her feet sunk into the sand below her, but she managed to maintain her grace and slipped into the boat with ease and took a front row seat. Both her shoes and the bottom of her robe were now dirty and covered in sand, which hardly seemed fitting for a lady, but she knew it could not be helped. Cherri now watched as others attempted to climb into boats, which appeared to have no oars, magic must be the key to getting across the lake, but how she did not know.

Cherri heard others climb into her boat from behind, she turned around with great care to see whom had joined her.

I had just thrown on my robes as the train came to a stop I hurried off the train following the other students, eventually, all the first years were ushered over by a teacher toward a group of boats sitting in a gorgeous lake and beyond the lake, my breath caught in my throat as I got my very first look at the castle. I had, of course, read in all my books that the school was a castle but still nothing could have prepared me for this. It was a towering, majestic structure with a number of turrets. It was perched on the mountainside overlooking the lake making everything feel grand. I realized I had been staring at the castle and the landscape for too long when I turned and most of the other first-years had already climbed into the boats. I scurry over to them looking around for one with extra seats for me but most seem already full, finally, I find a boat near the end of the group with only one girl in it. She's sitting with her back straight, her completely unwrinkled robes hanging beside her. She´s sitting in the very front of the boat and all I can see of her is her back which has locks of pretty light brown hair flowing down it.

I walk over and as cautiously as I can I attempt to step onto the boat it's hard to find my footing as I step aboard and my weight makes the boat rock slightly. I as carefully as I can sit down in one of the seats behind the girl. As I do she turns around probably noticing me, I give her a shy smile. She´s a pretty girl shorter than me, with light freckles and a splattering of freckles on her nose.

¨Uh, hi¨ I say with an awkward wave, ¨Mind if I sit here?¨

The girl who had joined Cherri was short like Cherri but also shy though she did manage to asked if she could sit with Cherri.
"Of course you can take a seat." Said Cherri in response.

Cherri could see all the boats had been bordered and their little boat lunged forward startling Cherri as she grabbed onto the walls to steady herself. The boat made a splashing sound as it hit the water. The boat smoothed out, and traveled steady across the water and

Cherri looked into the water, her own reflection stared back in the moonlight. Cheri looked to the night sky, it was clear, not a cloud insight.

As they closed the distance to Hogwarts, Cherri started to feel nervous about the sorting. She wasn't entirely sure how a hat would determine your house, perhaps the girl with her knew.

"I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself earlier, my name is Cherri Walker. I hope your train journey was pleasant. Do you know anything about the sorting?" Asked Cherri politely.

Cherri shivered, a gentle but cold breeze swept across the lake's surface, still she was glad she was wearing her winter robes, she wrapped them around herself trying to keep warm.

Heather and another girl sat behind them, giggling and pointing out the cute boys they saw, on this boat, and on others. The girl beside her pointed to one boy, whispered in Heather's ear, and they both broke out in a fit of laughter.

Heather Mongrove was your typical girly girl. Social, kind, and loves bright colors. She was also your typical blonde girl, meaning she was, to put it lightly, an idiot. And a klutz. While she was getting onto the boat, she tripped over her robe and almost fell on her face. Thankfully, the girl sitting beside her caught her just in time.

After she regained her balance, she thanked the girl and since then they've been talking (and giggling). Heather loves making friends, it's always made her happy to be surrounded by people who like her, and she's already made a friend before even stepping foot in the school. But, she wanted to get to know everyone, so once her and the girl next to her stopped giggling, she leaned forward, and started speaking to the two girls in front of her.

"Hiii!! I'm Heather, it's nice to meet you!" She smiled, showing her perfect teeth, "Are you excited to go to Hogwarts? I know I am, I'm so psyched! What house do you think you'll get into? My sister and brother want me to get into Gryffindor, but I think Hufflepuff is more fitting!" She rambled on and on, never taking a second to breathe.
