Cherri having now waved goodbye to her mother sat down gracefully in an empty compartment and placed her trunk in the overhead luggage area, as the train began its journey towards Hogwarts. Cherri reflected on the advice her Mother had given her, find her own way at Hogwarts. Cherri smiled her mother was kind and was always giving her small pieces of advice, and she felt excited as she begun her journey to Hogwarts.

Cherri thought about the four hours Hufflepuff was loyal, Gryffindor were brave, Slytherin were ambitious and Ravenclaw were intelligent. Cherri considered her own personal traits, she was academic gifted or at least she was by the muggle schooling system, she wasn't too sure if Hogwarts would be the same. She was also raised to act like a proper lady with confidence, she was also outspoken at times. Cherri could see herself in Ravenclaw, the other houses not so much.

Cherri stared out the window so far she sat alone, and she considered what she could do to past the time otherwise this was going to be a long trip, she could start reading her school books get a head start but she felt magic was not something you could just read about, you really needed to experience magic in order to learn about it and for that she would have to wait until her classes began.

In the end Cherri decided to pull out her flute from her trunk, she had not had much time to practice as of late. She sat tall and proper whilst she begun to play her flute but remembered her manners and so played quietly do not to disturb other students.

The MacAra family had made sure to arrive early enough to get all their farewells out of the way and spend a little time together before the children departed. Feeling nervous, Adairia hugged her mother and father tightly and turned toward the large red locomotive and took a deep breath. At that moment she almost wished that she hadn't told her older siblings that she wanted to board train alone the previous night. Looking back at her parents she saw them smiling encouragingly at her and noticed that her father appeared to be crying, causing some of the weight to lift off her slightly trembling shoulder. She'd be brave for her papa. She gave her father a sunny smile and said "Bye, Athair. Bye, Mama. I can't wait to show you all the flowers I pick!" She shared a private smile with her mother when her big strong father actually started to actually start bawling. Turning around she saw her mother roll her eyes while handing him a handkerchief.

As she boarded the train she noticed her trunk sitting a little way down the corridor across from an empty compartment and felt a warm feeling settling in her stomach. Even when she told them not to her older sibling were always looking out for her. She weaved herself through the scattered students catching up with each other and grabbed her trunk start for the compartment. she looked at the overhead rack and frown as she realized she was too short to put her trunk up. Pushing it out of the way she made sure to leave the door open to try and encourage others to join her. She pulled out her drawing pad, sat close to the window, and began drawing as she waited for the train to begin its journey. As she drew she noticed several people peek in their heads, look at her, then leave. One girl even turned her nose up at her, making Adairia feel slighted.

She had just given up when soft notes drifted through the air and pulled her out of her negative thoughts. They were beautiful and reminded her of the birds that visited her grandmother's garden. Lost in happy memories, Adairia didn't notice her feet began moving in the musical source's direction until she came to a compartment. She discovered the source was another student and just stood, listening to the music. It wouldn't do to be rude to someone she didn't know, so she just waited for the musician whose song helped calm her nerves and mind by reminding her of her happy place with her grandmother. Maybe the was way that the two could become friends or at the very least Ardairia will be able to let the other girl know she was a fan.

As lunchtime approached Cherri continued to play her flute softly, she had stopped practicing formerly and was now having fun with the music, adding her own notes. She still had to review the musical theory, but that could wait until she was settled at Hogwarts. Her muggle music exam wasn't until the end of the school year, but she still wanted to keep up with her music studies.

Cherri noticed a girl pearing through the compartment door window. Had she disturbed the girl with her music, perhaps she was too loud.

She placed her flute down gently, she didn't mind performing, just only when she was properly prepared. Did the girl want to join her perhaps, she seemed lonely sitting outside.

She placed her flute gently to the side, stood gracefully and walked etiquettely to the compartment door.

"I apologise if I was playing too loud, it was so very rude of me, perhaps you would you like to join me?" Said Cherri politely as she opened the compartment door.

Cherri returned to her seat, packed her flute away carefully and crossed her legs as she placed her hand down on the seat beside her attempting to encourage the girl to take a seat.

Adairia briefly felt sad when the girl stopped playing but calmly watched as she gracefully walked to the door. Please be nice. She thought to herself as the door open and the girl spoke to her. Adairia was a little surprised when the girl actually invited her in. Unable to formulate actual words, she nodded rapidly before starting to enter then remembered her trunk. Holding up her hand, palm facing outward, she turned and ran back down the hall toward her own cabin. She discovered it was full of laughing girls that stopped when she opened the door and entered. She also noticed that one of the girls was the one who had turned her nose up at her.

Face carefully blank, she silently gathered her sketchpad and trunk until their silent gazes before she turned back to the door. Not turning around she spoke softly before leaving, "I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip, ladies. I hope we can all get along in some way."

When she return to the other compartment, she was pleased that the door was still open. Grunting softly she pulled her trunk into the compartment and closed the door behind her. Adairia mirrored the girl's earlier graceful movement and sat down across from her. She pulled her sketchpad unto her lap and fiddled with her pencil.

Voice barely above a whisper she spoke to the girl, meeting her eyes. "Your playing reminded me of the birds that love to come to my grandmother's garden. It was very beautiful and calming and I enjoyed it greatly." She pulled her gaze away from the girl and began drawing, directing her next words toward the bird she had begun in her old compartment. "Adairia."

The girl merely nodded in response and then disappeared! Was she really that shy. Cherri considered closing the door but decided to wait, perhaps the girl would return. She looked out the window as she waited hopefully. The train was passing through the countryside, cattle grazing in the fields.

It had been sometime when the girl return carrying her trunk, closing the door behind her. She attempted to walk like a lady, as Cherri had done moments earlier, Cherri found this to be amusing, however she understood the girl was merely just trying to impress her, though Cherri felt it uncessary.

The girl now sat with her sketch pad, but she fidgeted with her pencil. When she attempted to speak it was barely anything more than a whisper, attempting to compliment Cherri's music.

"Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the music, my name is Cherri Walker." Said Cherri softly not wanting to add to the girls shyness.

But before the girl could response, Cherri heard their compartment door open. A lady dressed as kitchen staff stood at the door. "Anything from the trolley." She asked the girls.

Cherri calmly reached into her pockets, stood and walked with ease to the lady, she was going to buy herself a pumpkin pie and a few extra snacks, when she stopped rembered her manners. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name earlier, would you like anything, I can afford it, no trouble at all." Said Cherri acting a little snoberish without really meaning too.

Adairia blushed and thought to herself, Come on, Iri, you can do this! You are a part of the mighty MacAra Clan. Seanair(grandfather) said we've fought dragons and crazy kings, so one girl shouldn't be so difficult. She straightened her shoulders before speaking louder, this time making eye contact with the girl. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Walker, my name Adairia NicAra of the MacAra Clan. I-I hope we can become friends or at the very least not become enemies."

With that said she registered that they had company and the rest of Cherri's words. She walked over, almost tripping over her trunk before righting herself, and looked at the offerings and decided to take the girl up on her offer, "Thank you, I'd like to choose two chocolate frogs, please." her voice lowered a bit as some of her nerves came back making her change her mind about the offer.

"Wait! On second thought, I've decided on more than is polite to have someone buy for me. Sorry for the misunderstanding." Shooting Cherri an apologetic look she asked for a few more chocolate frogs, some cauldrons cakes and a box of Bertie Beans. Now she had a small armful of snacks as she thanked the woman and apologized for cutting in line before slowly and awkwardly taking her seat. It was so hard trying to act "normal" and not to mention nerve wrecking.

Adairia started eating a cauldron cake as she waited for Cherri to finish her purchase. She waited for the lady to leave before she turned toward Cherri and released the tidal wave of words that wanted out. "I'm so sorry for all this. I'm not used to being around others, at least others who are nice. Not that people aren't not nice to me... it's just so hard trying to be normal but my older cousin said that people like normal not eerie fae children that talk to flowers. He always says MacAra's are supposed to be refined and reserved, not frivolous and fancy free. " The need to breath was the only thing that stopped the apologies and words as she sat there breathing heavy as her mind got more words ready.
